It sure is ironic that people will defend AOC or (almost) anyone else when they say something like she did, but if Trump says something, it's automatically labeled as attacking or blasting someone, or whining or complaining or having a meltdown or temper tantrum--regardless of what he said or how he said it.
The defense of AOC is of little interest to me. Way too hypocritical.

You've actually read some of Trump's tweets, right?

Let us know when AOC mocks the disabled because a reporter with a hadicap says something she doesn't agree with.

You mean that all those claims of "If you like your health plan/doctor, you can keep your health plan/doctor" wasn't embarrassing when it turned out to be completely false, even though it was his big selling point for his pet project?

"You need an ID to buy groceries."

You have a deal if you also agree to inform us when Trump says the 3 "chambers" of government are the House, Senate, and presidency.

If you buy alcohol or pay with a check, you do.
Not sure what your point is.

1. I've seen one person use a check in the last 3 years and that was a senior citizen.
2. Alcohol is not what most people think of when they discuss groceries.

It is for people who actually buy it when they buy their groceries.

Unless a SSN is not counted as an ID (don't know why it wouldn't be), one needs an ID (SSN) to obtain a credit card or open a checking/savings account with a debit card to pay for groceries, as many people do. I don't know why people get so worked up about that statement. Oh yeah... it's from Trump. Nuff said.

Is that because one is a democratic socialist? The things they say seem to be somehow acceptable.

Seriously? You don't see any moral difference between MOCKING THE DISABLED and saying something silly like "3 chambers"?

Really? You don't see one as much, much worse than the other?

Wow.

No, I'm sorry, but just....wow.

I don't know what to do with that information. Other than feel mildly queasy.

It is a silly thing to focus on. I agree 100%. Considering he's said so many horrible horrible things in the past several years alone! WHether it's openly mocking the disabled, insulting a POW for "getting caught", or insulting the family of an AMerican soldier who died in the line of duty! Oh, yeah, and his non-stop slams at Native Americans...

One thing some people may be fascinated by, though, is getting information about how people buy groceries from a man who was a millionaire from age 8 and has probably never in his adult life gone to the grocery store to "buy groceries". I mean he lives in a golden palace in the sky in NYC or in his own golf resort in Florida (when he isn't rage tweeting from the White House).

It's only the interpretation of Trump's haters that he was mocking someone who was disabled. Otherwise, why aren't you coming to the defense of a war veteran who lost 3 limbs and has been attacked on this site? Brian Kolfage is his name. Could it have anything to do with him being a Trump supporter?

Ironically Trump doesn't drink. So I wonder if HE thinks of alcohol when he buys groceries.

Who cares? Even beyond groceries, there are things an ID is needed for. Buying cigarettes requires an ID since you have to be at least 18 to buy them. Low income people are the ones who smoke and drink the most, and they're the ones the democrats like to say are being denied voting rights by needing an ID. Why aren't they complaining about their smoking and drinking rights being denied?

Trump mocked a reporter who also happened to be disabled, and he mocked the reporter with motions that are typically used to describe someone as being handicapped. The motions he made weren't unlike those made by the Timmy character on South Park.

Now, if you want to argue that Trump didn't deliberately attack that reporter for his disability, fine. I don't buy it, but for the sake of argument, let's suppose there's some plausible deniability in there somewhere. Either way, he still mocked somebody by using a gesture that uses a handicap as a punchline.

It's not unlike the time Obama described his own poor bowling as being on the caliber of the "special olympics". He wasn't trying to insult people with handicaps, but that's what he did.

A Special Apology From Obama After Gaffe

The difference here is that Obama immediately apologized for it, whereas Trump didn't.

If that helps you feel better. But, no, he was mocking a disabled person. There's just about a zero % chance it was anything but that.

I think the thing I despair the most about the Trump Era is that rational thought has to be abandoned in favor of supporting that creature.

Otherwise, why aren't you coming to the defense of a war veteran who lost 3 limbs and has been attacked on this site? Brian Kolfage is his name.

...ummmm, because I wasn't aware of it? It's a pretty big site and I'm not God.

Could it have anything to do with him being a Trump supporter?

Wow...a strawman predicated on no information on your part! You win! Congrats. Find something I know NOTHING about and then accuse me of supporting it because I didn't speak out against it!

Is this really a secret "Logic Class"?

So now groceries are mostly cigarettes and booze? I don't think most people look at it that way, but sure, OK. Ummmm.....

The same ID's that are used to do many other things are not necessarily the same ID's one uses to buy their "groceries" (cigs and booze according to Christian Forums, apparently).

Did I say "mostly"? Or did you add that word in there as a way of trying to goad me?

Doesn't matter. If you want to do something that requires an ID, then get the ID.

He didn't say "plan" because one of the hallmarks of Obamacare is that qualifying plans had to meet minimum standards; you could not keep a substandard plan, the ones where you pay a lot for nothing.

"You can keep your doctor" wasn't completely false either. It seemed pretty obvious that what he was saying was that Obamacare would not compel anyone to change; however, neither did it compel any provider to provide any particular doctor. Plans switch doctors and facilities all the time - they did before Obamacare and they still do. So no, I wasn't embarrassed for or by him, but by people who chose to exploit that.
