I don't like any believer being persecuted, let alone anyone at all. Gently corrected? Yes. Sharply rebuked even? In love, yes. Shown knowledge which contrasts their knowledge? Yes. Persecuted? Mocked? No.

Due to my background, I am highly offended by persecution and mockery of others. I came from Satanism and I not only believed in Heliocentricism, I adored everything to do with outer space, including the exploration of it by men. I certainly didn't question any of it back then and I especially never questioned whether the Earth was a globe or not; I thought that ridiculous. In fact, I believed "Flat Earth" was some sort of big troll; "surely they couldn't be serious".

See, I once mocked and persecuted those who questioned space and the shape of the world, including those who questioned the Lunar missions. Now? I Iefuse to mock those who believe in what I once did; I don't wish to be a hypocrite in this.

But you acted like your side was being unfairly maligned despite the fact that both sides were guilty of the same type of thing. Just because you personally didn't make those accusations doesn't mean you can say it's a one-sided issue.

If I catch a Flat Earther insulting you he because if your cosmology, I'll be certain to let them know my disagreement with their behaviour. Fair?

I've had them accuse me of being deceived by Satan many times, in many recent threads.

That's the conspiracy: the entire flat Earth movement is trying to convince people that flat Earthers actually exist. When they actually don't. ;)
Just because you keep posting this, I have no idea what the "name" flat earth folks believe, but there are folks out there who do get convinced by their videos, etc. My coworker was one of them. So stop claiming they don't exist because they do.

If Earth is 100% a globe , 100% spinning on its axis, and 100% orbiting around the Sun, and the evidence for this is overwhelming, why is there even a debate?

Because some people are resistant to the truth. Christians should understand this ...

Furthermore, if it's so ridiculous to question or even disagree with these obvious facts, why would those who do believe in them even care what a few hundred, thousand, or million, misguided loonies spend their time researching and discussing?

We really don't. It's the Flat Earthers who are evangelizing ...

I really cant see how a guy can stand up on a stage and argue that the earth is flat? How embarrassing

I have learned a lot about just what people will support. Remember Nazi Germany. I am no longer surprised by much of what I see.

I'm afraid I can't bring myself to accept the existence of people who think the Earth is flat. Not in this day and age.

People believe in all sorts of things. Sounds like you've been sheltered ...

Have flat earthers never flown in a plane? When the plane is at altitude, and you look out the window on a clear day, the horizon is obviously curved. No matter which direction you fly--north-south or east-west--the curvature is the same at the same altitude. And the higher your altitude, the greater the curvature. I've flown hundreds of times and have seen this with my own eyes. How is this possible if the planet is flat? Do they think that all aircraft manufacturers conspire to install some kind of trick windows that make the only the distant horizon look curved? Only a monumentally gullible fool would believe such idiocy.
The consensus is that the horizon doesn't appear curved until you're over 50,000 feet while most commercial flights are well under 40,000.

I'm aware people believe in all sorts of strange things. I just don't accept that a flat Earth is one of them.

Seems we exist in this day and age. Weird, isn't it?

Outside of maybe people from an un-contacted tribe in the middle of the Amazon or something, I genuinely find it difficult to believe that anyone can think the world is flat. Especially given the generally ludicrous nature of flat Earther claims in general and the complete lack of any underlying reason to believe in a flat Earth.

Creationists I can get because that's at least tied to a religious belief system. And I can even accept the existence of other conspiracy theorists like 9/11, etc, since their seem like other motivation for those beliefs.

I can't fathom the motivation for flat Earthism though. It has no reason to exist.

Plus, given that I've seen various folks online admitting to trolling by pretending to profess flat Earth beliefs, it becomes even harder to take seriously.

What would exempt people from believing in a flat earth ? Note that I'm not really debating this point with you ... I'm just curious as to your thoughts.

Youwill see in these videos that the horizon ALWAYS rises to eye level

There are dozens of photos with theadolites and homemade leveling devices showing this isn't true. Parroting this verbiage is a sign that one is a YouTube scholar or one is merely trying to sound like a flat earther.
