  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I have seen all of the final 4 except the bike.

I wonder who will win, I just am always wrong about who would get picked from the final 12.

And I don't know WHAT they win, as I didn't see the show at the start. I'm sure it's on their website, just haven't looked yet.

It is a really wonderful idea! I don't know about his idea that people wouldn't buy cars based on the car seat not fitting...

But, I hand it to him, he is dreaming very big! Good for him and good for them all!

I believe they win 1 million dollars and get their product developed and sold.

I love that Polish guy! He's so sincere and passionate about his invention and the reason behind it. You can see that he's a very religious person and I think he believes that God has inspired him to invent the carseat.

I also love the Columbian kid. He's got an intensity of purpose that only a teenager can have.

Regardless of who wins, I think several of the inventions have potential and a future.

Personally, I really want that bathroom stall thing that lady invented. Wish I'd thought of something like that! Just a couple weeks ago Iwas at Walmart:sick: when a lady walked in on me just as I was standing up to pull my jeans up. Imagine that! You'd think she just quickly close the door and walk away. But no.....she stands there and argues with me!!!!! I asked her if she ever bothers to look under the door and see if someones in the stall. She said, "no, I figure if the door opens than it's unoccupied". We all know that many of the doors in public restrooms don't lock properly and barely stay closesd. If that wasn't bad enough, just as she finally closed the door and walked away, another lady walked in on me:eek: I can't believe the rudeness. My only hope is that these inconsiderate women have the same thing happen to them......many times!!!:p

Amen to my fellow public bathroom users! :D  a.k.a. = everyone!

I would buy that thing by itself, I don't need the whole kit that she had developed, although it was nice and all.

Yeah, that is a very frustrating situation! :o

I think a close second in my book (regarding public bathrooms) are those locks that make you feel like you won't be able to get them to unlock! Some of them are just so iffy.

I always think I'll end up stuck in the darn stall! It's never happened, but if it was going to, it would happen to me! :p

I got stuck in a stall when there was a whole line of people from my tour bus waiting to go! I was about to call for help when finally I grabbed the top of the door and yanked with all my might, at which point I was almost thrown back on to the toilet seat! How embarrassing.

Anyhow, I would buy the toilet lock in a second and throw it in my purse just in case. If I had the whole kit I might take it when I went on vacation or something, but I wouldn't carry it around with me routinely. I really hope those locks get marketed.

Of the final four, my vote is for the carseat.

You poor thing! That's awful! :o

Hmmm, you bring up a good idea. Maybe if they ever do market it, they could sell it both ways - just the lock and the kit. I agree, the kit would appeal to me to have more when traveling.

Okay, little story about last night...

In my house, last night was an issue. We watch Survivor, we watch My Name is Earl, we watch Everybody Hates Chris, and That 70's Show was having what we thought was the final episode of the series. Then there was American Inventor and what we thought was the two-hour finale. We clearly had a problem at 8:00, so we were jumping through all kinds of hoops to make sure we could somehow record and watch everything.

Come to find out it wasn't really the finale of That 70's Show, and the 8:00 American Inventor was another of those inane, lame "flashback" episodes, because obviously the American public is too addle-brained to remember what happened just last week so we have to be reminded of it during an hour of useless drivel.

I was not pleased. ;)

Anyway, the 9:00 show was okay, but could really have been 30 minutes long. I think the baby seat commercial was the best, and I really want that guy to win.
