I just thought I'd share this article on the US Election from D.C. McAllister which I thought was excellent. I think she makes some great points. What do you think?

The problem is that she is equating "casual sex" with sexual assault. Is America, and has America been hypersexualized for a while? Yes. Is it calming down? No. Is that a good thing? I really don't think so.

Does that mean bragging about sexual assault is excusable? No.
Does that mean that a little reflection and condemnation of poor behaviour is "out of line"? HECK no.

This guy was accused of raping a 12 year old who was the daughter of the family he was living with in Springdale, the other side of the tracks in Springdale. And the guy was from Green Forest where his family where his family still had a little farm. And he was one of these...rootless folks who...wasn't going to make a living on the land and he was kind of around...ended up in Springdale. [unintelligible] Of course he claimed that he didn't. All this stuff. He took a lie detector test! I had him take a polygraph, which he passed, which forever destroyed my faith in polygraphs [laughter]....he plea bargained! Yes, he did and he never denied that he said it. He had to be asked about three times at the debate if he did the things he said he did in the audio/video.
He didn't want to answer that question. Was it because he did and he was afraid to lie about it and get caught, or was it because he didn't and didn't want his buddies to know he is just boasting, blustering faux superstar with the ladies.
Billy Bush lost his job over this deal. If he isn't considered to be worthy of his piddly job, is Trump worthy of the presidency?

It is really messed up that the only apology or defense for Trump is to point at Hillary, or especially at her husband (who is NOT running for office.)

The thing is, one day he'll grab a woman by a body part, and she won't just go along with it. She will press charges for assault and sexual harassment, which is what it is. Maybe he got away with it so far - possibly due in part to being as wealthy and powerful as he is - but that kind of behavior is still wrong.

You don't just kiss someone, grab someone's body parts suddenly, etc. That's the definition of sexual assault. Also, yes you can very well do it against a woman's will - because of the element of surprise. It's not hard to grab someone unexpectedly. That is inappropriate behavior no matter what. Whether she presses charges or not is a different matter. This is like saying it's not wrong unless you get caught.

Would you say to a child, it's okay to steal from others, as long as they don't get you in trouble for it? Of course not.
