  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Are we discussing spontaneous generation? I thought that concept was decided long ago to not be valid?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abiogenesis

"Belief in the present ongoing spontaneous generation of certain forms of life from non-living matter goes back to Aristotle and ancient Greek philosophy and continued to have support in Western scholarship until the 19th century. This belief was paired with a belief in heterogenesis, i.e., that one form of life derived from a different form (e.g., bees from flowers)."

All evolutionists have done is change the bees from flowers to humans from apes.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spontaneous_generation

"Spontaneous generation or anomalous generation is an obsolete body of thought on the ordinary formation of living organisms without descent from similar organisms."

So please explain to me how life from non-life is descent from similar organisms? Because otherwise abiogenesis is spontaneous generation and can be dismissed out of hand as being the obsolete body of thought that it is.

Not every life reproduces in that manner.

Because he wont admit that those bacterium contain both sets of DNA that in reproducing pairs are separated into male and female. Which is the only logical way to have bacterium reproduce since their job in nature is to take care of decaying matter - would be by binary fission. So that being easier to destroy they would be able to multiply rapidly in the numbers needed to fulfill their role in the creation.

And it's called binary fission - not cloning, just so you don't get confused by his strawman.

And believe it or not is why bacteria never evolve.

http://www.livescience.com/49677-deep-sea-organism-evolution.html

Of course it's only a puzzle that needs double-talk with evolutionists that actually believe life propagates by mutation - instead of what we observe - Asian mates with African and produces an Afro-Asian. Husky mates with Mastiff and produces a Chinook. All the while Asian remains Asian, African remains African, Husky remains Husky and Mastiff remains a Mastiff. Bacteria since they do not mate - will always remain the same infraspecific taxa they started as, with only the variation we see among Asians or Africans, Husky or Mastiff, etc.

Experimentally proven as after billions of generations and billions of mutations, those E coli bacteria remained E coli - with only the slight variation we see among them as we see in Asian peoples or Husky dogs. Panther cats, and on and on and on.......

Abiogenesis is not spontaneous generation. Spontaneous generation had things like mice emerging from garbage, or leaches coming from muddy water. These are modern species emerging quickly from non-living matter. Abiogenesis does not have modern species emerging in any such way.

Also, the experiments done by Pasteur were certainly not capable of disproving abiogenesis.

H. erectus is not African or Asian.

Bacteria are haploid, not diploid (pretending that you will even understand what these words mean).

Which is the only logical way to have bacterium reproduce since their job in nature is to take care of decaying matter - would be by binary fission. So that being easier to destroy they would be able to multiply rapidly in the numbers needed to fulfill their role in the creation.

Clone:
"an organism or cell, or group of organisms or cells, produced asexually from one ancestor or stock, to which they are genetically identical."

And you now have man emerging from monkey - there is no difference.

So then you admit that we are discussing spontaneous generation since they emerged from non-living matter - i.e., descent from organisms that are not similar?

Sure he disproved it - he never once produced a living anything from non-living matter. No one has. Just more non-living matter - i.e. descent from similar things (non-living matter) and living matter from decent from similar things (living matter.)

You mean to say you don't want to admit your theory is in reality spontaneous generation and so now attempt to defend spontaneous generation because in your heart you know the truth. That they are one and the same - or you would not now be attempting to defend an obsolete body of thought.

Monkey's are non-living?

Abiogenesis has simple species emerging from non-living matter, not complex modern species.

- i.e., descent from organisms that are not similar?

Dissimilar ancestral organisms are living.

Sure it disproved it - he never once produced a living anything.

Did the failed attempt at the first powered flight disprove airplanes?

For those who claim that you need abiogenesis in order for the theory of evolution to be true, could you please explain one thing?

What part of the theory of evolution would need to change if the first life on Earth were created by God, and all the life and species we see today evolved through natural processes from that first created life that we all share as a common ancestor?

The part where life dies is the part that would have to change.
The Creator is not fond of death and had to come up with
some painful procedures to work around it in the end.

The theory fully embraces organisms dying.

The Creator is not fond of death and had to come up with
some painful procedures to work around it in the end.

No scientific theory has to explain your bare assertions.

No laws broken, I just wonder how they got there. It's very specific conditions. Did that "just happen"?
?? I thought this thread was about how the theory of evolution is unaffected no matter what process caused the first life to come into existence.
Why are you asking questions about how the first life came into existence?

My bad, I misunderstood the first question. Looked at the title instead. Continue.
