• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

However, it DOES require the faith that the only truth is in the provable, physical world. If God DOES exist, you're out of luck.

The whole God exists or doesn't exist really has no bearing on science or on scientific theories like evolution. Science does not and cannot account for the supernatural. That is not to say there is no supernatural; just that science cannot account for it.

Theories and hypotheses like evolution are strictly the result of the physical evidence and the testable physical laws that govern our observations. That is the world in which science lives.

Brilliant! That settles it. Because bookstores don't put bibles in the fiction section, it must be true!
Either that, or they know something you don't.

How about the fact there's no archaeological evidence for Christianity until early third century?

If that's not a problem, it should be.

Are you saying the year 1 AD started the day after the death of Christ? Christianity did not start before Christ? And it's only mentioned as the name given to the early church.

That's one of the few things you said that I agree with. I've said the same thing many times.

Nice evasion of the question. Care to answer it?

If Zeus came to the Earth, would you believe?

I evaded the question that was an answer to my question. Care to answer the original question?

If God came to the Earth, would you believe?

No, it is called curiosity and humility. Knowing that your knowledge is limited and uncertain is not a bad thing.

No, I called it Government grant, you said you are humiliated and curious.

So, why doesn't the religious Atheist not go down to the bookstores and have that changed. I see Wikipedia is a strong supporter of atheist now.

By the way where do I find books on atheism?

Are they in the science or fun and games section?

Probably in the philosophy/religious beliefs section a couple cases to the left from "Christianity", if we are going alphabetically.

So, the stores seem to think its a religion?

Maybe something can come from nothing.

Lol.
