Hi sister freespirit , the thing that ties these texts together is one word , persecution .
It is bad to be persecuted for robbing a bank , for stealing a car , for insulting a person , ahhhhhhhhhhhhh but persecution for Jesus name is a priviledge . ;)
:amen:
  These are great words to wake up to dear cygnus!
God Bless !

Cygnus,

Do you dream in technicolor?
What does it mean to wear your passion on your sleeve?

Isn't the world supposed to be seen in brighter colors, sharper images and higher resolution? Isn't it all about energy? having energy? creating energy? showing energy, spreading energy?
Emoting? Erupting? Flaming? Bounding energy?

Hi Freespirit , hope you are well

I just had a chat with my wife about light , and this is what I said , 'we are told to be LIGHT in this world NOT Lightning "
it is so tempting to be far too "active" , you know , feeling the need to witness , debate , 'contend for the faith ' ......... but so often we get tempted to be like a lightning bolt and blast someone , we should be the quiet energy of light ..... ;)

Hello, Cygnus :)

Hope you're good today.........

I had to go out early this morning - it rained last night and the sky was covered in grey clouds except for one bit where the sun was hiding. So there was this patch of sky where the grey had dispersed and the sky was all pinky-gold. It was beautiful and it reminded me of John 1:5 which says 'the light shines in the darkness.'

Another time it was late afternoon and again there were grey clouds all over the sky - quite dark, ominous-looking clouds, but as I drove along I noticed a small rectangular patch of bright blue sky which had broken through. The contrast to the grey was startling..........again, it reminded me of Jesus, the Light of the world, breaking into the darkness of this world.

Do you recall any outstanding sights in the world around you which moved you to an even greater adoration of God? :)

Music has done that several times ..... but occassionaly I wake up to the beauty of creation , it's superb array of colours and its neat size per creature perspective ........ Elephants the size of ants would seem strange and visa versa .... so I am happy with the fine balance of Creation , only tarnished by humans.
I am still unsure about my ISP , I cannot just drop and swap , there is a gap between leaving one and going over to another .......
But it's not just for me , if it was I would carry on , but the boys lie X-Box Live as well.

Yes..........only tarnished by humans. We have much yet to learn and understand..........

Great pic, Cygnus!! :D Yes, my lads use the PC a lot to play games online. They're pretty good at the one they favour - in fact, my eldest lad is up there in the top 5 in New Zealand at this game.

Oh, your new avatar is brilliant - very cool! :) The hardest heart can melt in the face of God's awesome majesty and holiness, can't it, Cygnus?

Thanks Sister ....... which reminds me of a Fav Christian song .........perhaps this is my fav Christian song ......... this song when listened to defies a rational ex[planation , it is sublime , even Bob's voice struggled with holding the notes such were the words he gave out from deep within....

The iron hand it ain't no match for the iron rod,
The strongest wall will crumble and fall to a mighty God.
For all those who have eyes and all those who have ears
It is only He who can reduce me to tears.
Don't you cry and don't you die and don't you burn
For like a thief in the night, He'll replace wrong with right
When He returns.

Truth is an arrow and the gate is narrow that it passes through,
He unleashed His power at an unknown hour that no one knew.
How long can I listen to the lies of prejudice?
How long can I stay drunk on fear out in the wilderness?
Can I cast it aside, all this loyalty and this pride?
Will I ever learn that there'll be no peace, that the war won't cease
Until He returns?

Surrender your crown on this blood-stained ground, take off your mask,
He sees your deeds, He knows your needs even before you ask.
How long can you falsify and deny what is real?
How long can you hate yourself for the weakness you conceal?
Of every earthly plan that be known to man, He is unconcerned,
He's got plans of His own to set up His throne
When He returns.

Talking of light and darkness, Cygnus..........have you ever been through the Channel tunnel between England and France? And how about the Underground? If you have, what's it like? Is it freaky? ;) :)

Ho Bill ........ that is a very deep question , with reservations I say yes , but all things have a context , God loves Righteousness +Holiness more than "Love" in a deeper sense !

I haven't done the Channel tunnel yet JS , but yes I have been on the underground in London many times , and it is the strangest experience , very cold , breezy at times , and totally mad !
The speed at which commuters (most without any expression on their faces) rush by each other is bizzare , and the vibe is not my scene , very deathly ghost like , grey , and what a relief to get back above ground.
Also at peak hours the trains are packed much like trains in India , packed beyond any health and safety limits , the last time I was down there I had my family with me , and I refused to get on several trains , they were packed so tight it was inhumane and dangerous . (if the doors were to burst open )
Yet it is the quickest way to get around London.

Hello, Cygnus :)

I've always been rather frightened by the thought of the Underground and you've just reinforced that. Why is the overcrowding permitted? I'd take the slower route myself. ;) Or is that so slow it takes hours?

Is it true that London is so big there are Londoners who have never been to some areas of the city? I find it difficult to imagine the size of London. You can cross our city, even at rush hour, in probably half an hour. I'd love to visit London.

I have mixed feelings about London , it would take 6 Months to explore the best parts :D ........ but sometimes it feels like that when I get sent there in my truck .... if I find out I have got to go to London , I go into concentration , zero emotion mode ..... :p
It certainly is a place I have been to over the years , steering a boat belonging to family friends up the Thames , spending a few days in a squat in Surbiton with a school buddy , I used to hitch hike every where late 70s , I have been to many London sights , but it is an exhilarating and very exciting day , to get on the train and an hour later to pull into Euston.
It takes me less than an hour to get to the edge of London amd then another hour to get to the heart ....... the whole Metropolis has a giant round about all around it , called the M25 motorway which Chris Rea called "the road to Hell" ........... guess why :D

Is it because it's badly congested, Cygnus?

Anyway, you know how you mentioned steering a boat up the Thames, I was going to ask you if you've ever been on a canal boat? Do many people over there still live on them permanently?

It's so very different to here, in so many ways..........is Hampstead the poshest part of London? And can you 'do' various accents from different parts of England, Cygnus? My girls do a pretty passable accent - a different one each - and they'd pass muster on the phone, I reckon. In fact, one of them did answer the phone using her English accent and the caller was going to hang up, thinking he had the wrong number! :D

many many people do live in canal boats in England , but if you called them that they would string you up , they call them NARROW boats , and it is a whole other culture .
I spent a week with my parents and brother on a narrow boat , it was the most relaxing Holiday I have had! Great fun , and the pace is so slow and smooth.

Foxton%20locks.jpg
.. Foxton Locks (an hour from here)

accents are not my forte' and it's odd really because I have had a fair bit of moving around since being born in North Wales , I tend to have a very mixed accent , I can do a good London accent , and often do , but I find myself slipping in and out of Northern accents from time to time ....... which often makes eyes widen :D
when I hear an accent that comes from Chester , an old English Roman city , I can say YES! that is the basis for my accent , not welsh , and not Manccunian , and it is strange , because I have only over the last few years been able to pin it down , my older brothers accent is very similar , and we both lived in Chester for a few formative years .
