  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    Does time pass for spirits?

Do spirits experience the passage of time, or do they merely feel a sensation like time passing, for example, if they suffer? ("When you sit on a hot stove for two minutes, you think it's two hours.") If time does pass for them, is it in their spirit realm or only if they interact with the...

CS Lewis on God’s Relation to Time

I found in Mere Christianity a quote that perfectly reflects my frustrations with some posts which seem to assume God is subject to time, when in fact He created time. Mere Christianity is one of the most widely accepted books of introductory theology, and hopefully CS Lewis might make the...

"Whatever is not of faith is sin" - if God knew to create and did not, God would be in Hell?

Hi there, So the full statement I wanted to make, was this: We are all obliged to do what we can about faith, this applies to God, as well. God could refuse to create, even, but His conscience would convict Him that He had not done something He had faith to do. God being God, He has an infinite...

    The Words not Sticking

Time is ticking, words are pricking, With most folks the words not sticking – Taking shelter in their covers, Going after other lovers. Dancing dances, taking chances, Looking for more new romances, Happenstances, stealing glances, In his pride the ruler prances. His dominion, he’s the leader...

Logic: if apes connected to humans, humans can "reconnect" to humans - what is the good of that?

Hi there, So yes, a simple element of logic here: if apes connected to humans (genealogically), could humans not "reconnect" to other humans? I have said before that "the Evolution of a specific survival, is different from the optimum survival for that Evolution" this is merely an extension of...

"It is the Father's good pleasure, to give you the kingdom (throughout time)"

Hi there, So this is prophecy one-o-one, right? God does not simply arrive in some context, where things are for or against Him in one way or another - rather, God works above and beyond time. God does this so that we may receive the kingdom, but not only that, that we receive the kingdom...

    The Ontological Observation of God

As this is the only Christian discussion thread I can post in on this site, I am posting here. I wanted to share my article, of which I have written on the "Ontological Observation of God" for the encouragement of others and to inspire thought. In this article I break down just "what...

    Free Will, Predestination and Time

I'm posting this under Kitchen Sink, because I want those not claiming Christianity to be able to contribute. Within what I say here, I want it understood, though, that I am assuming the meaning of 'God' to be, among other things, the absolute Omnipotent, a person, (i.e. not a mere mechanical...

Don't let them tell you, they have seen your future - illness is for a season, not every season

Hi there, So yes, I have struggled with a diagnosis of my schizophrenia, for years. One thing that made it particularly difficult, was that the treating team (the psychiatrist and his nurses) would say "you will have this condition for the rest of your life", as if the Day I reach Heaven, I...

Rest on this: God is asking you to do something, but He is not asking you to do everything!

Hi there, So yes, mental health (general struggles, whatever you want to call it) can be a tricky thing. One thing that is important, is that we do not trip ourselves up - that we do not create mental habits that are not ultimately helpful. You can criticise the Devil without authority all you...

    Great Unconformity

For more than 150 years, geologists have been aware of ‘missing’ layers of rock from the Earth’s geological record. Up to one billion years appear to have been erased in what’s known as the Great Unconformity. Many theories to explain this have been proposed… https://www.nature.com/

By faith, you are required to call something "evolved", even when you don't see *how*?

Hi there, So I've been told many times that faith and science don't mix, but there is interpretation of science that science on its own can't understand: namely, The point being that the assumption certain "things" are evolved, limits what can actually (evolve). This is not to say that...

Philosophical Presentism within the Context of Relatvity

Hi everyone. I haven't been on in a long time and there's a good chance I will not make response, but I had become aware of what I was attempting to explain in previous posts is something called philosophical presentism. The reason I was so ardent about this idea within the context of theory of...

What about adapting too much for a given selection pressure? It's sickening?

Hi there, So there is a chance that you are overdoing your Evolution, right? Like if you keep responding to a selection pressure, in more and more diverse ways - eventually you get trigger sick? "Trigger sick" would be evolving in ways that don't agree with a balance of some kind (moderation) -...

    The light travel time problem

I have a question for Young Universe Creationists who claim a literal interpretation of Gen. 1. But first, I should let everyone know, I am not a theistic evolutionist, I do not agree with Darwin's theory, and I do not believe that man existed on earth for more than 6k years. So please do not...

Hiding The Messaiah: Falsification Of Genesis 5 & 11 (part 2)

In Hiding the Messiah: Falsification of Genesis 5 & 11 (Part 1) we got a bird's-eye view of the four major translations of the Bible and, we saw how the scribes subtracted, added, and shifted the numbers around of the genealogical records of Genesis 5; and, how, even after sorting out all of the...

A sign of the end: there are different kinds of raptures

Hi there, So this will be a new concept to you, at first, but after you have given it thought: it will give you broader spiritual horizons. A man can be raptured differently to a child; a child can be raptured differently to an animal. There are different orders and strengths and durations...

New concept: both Evolution and Creation make use of the "Master Design"

Hi there, So yes, I have this concept called "the Master Design". To refer to the Master Design, you simply take a parallel between yourself and Jesus. If Jesus had an arm, you have an arm; if Jesus worked with that arm, you are able to work with that arm. Every species has its own Master...

So if first a fish, then a giraffe, then an elephant - my "Evolution" has a greater span?

Hi there, So I am trying to work out, what the mechanism behind "Evolution" is and from what I am told, what you were to begin with, makes a difference, that is, the succession of development from one creature to the next "culminates" in something. Following this logic, the more steps that you...

    Christianity and Art-culture?

There is only so much time in a day. There is only so much time in a life. Question being: how best should that time be used? The most important question to answer regarding the usage of time is whether one believes in a reality beyond bodily death, and if so how does one best secure a 'good...
