  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    Discussion Spirit of Slavery

I remember watching a Derek Prince video where he had said that there is still a spirit of slavery in America that is active. I am not sure if he meant it was a principality or ruler or something of the like but recently I have gotten a sense the spirit of slavery is still active, if not in the...

    He Alone!

Psalm 136:1-9 NASB Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, For His lovingkindness is everlasting. Give thanks to the God of gods, For His lovingkindness is everlasting. Give thanks to the Lord of lords, For His lovingkindness is everlasting. To Him who alone does great wonders, For His...

Why would a benevolent god condone slavery?

Overview The bible explicitly endorses two types of slavery....indentured servitude (for Hebrews) and chattel slavery (for non-Hebrews). With indentured servitude, a person voluntarily agreed to sell his labor to his master for a temporary period of time after which the servant would be granted...

    The Great Evil of Abortion

Hi. I would like to preface this by saying that I am a pro-life Catholic, and I always have been. I want to discuss the evil of abortion. I notice that many pro-lifers get hung up arguing about the evil of murdering babies, whether or not a fetus is a human, etc., and they fail to see the...

    Suffering for Righteousness

A Man of Sorrows Isaiah 53:1-3 ESV Who has believed what he has heard from us? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed? For he grew up before him like a young plant, and like a root out of dry ground; he had no form or majesty that we should look at him, and no beauty that...

    What Kind of Persuasion?

For Freedom Galatians 5:1 NIV It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. Jesus Christ died that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. This is the essence of the gospel message. He died on that...

    As Christ Loved Us

How are we to love one another? What should that look like? What does it mean to love others “as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us”? “Follow God's example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant...

American Students Lack Knowledge on the Topic of American Slavery

What Kids Are Really Learning About Slavery I can already see it: the irony of the people that believe topics like American slavery should be ignored and "left in the past," while simultaneously complaining about the "erasure" of history when it comes to removing Confederate monuments.

Slavery, The Bible or the Quran?

I wrote an essay a few months ago, which was actually an apologetic reasoning against the Islamic attacks Muslims use to show how bad the Christian Bible is concerning Slavery. However, what I found when I instigated that God said in the Bible, and what Allah instructed in the Quran, was...

“I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.” Eph. 4:1-3 ESV To what...

    Free in Christ

What does it mean to be “free in Christ”? Truly it means our sins are forgiven and we are no longer under condemnation. Amen. And, if we are in Christ, by faith in him, we, thus, have the hope of eternal life with God in glory. But, is there more to this freedom than that? The Lord Jesus led me...

    Walk in Love

The Lord Jesus led me to read Ephesians 5 (Select vv. ESV). Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. vv. 1-2 The goal of our salvation from sin is that we might be Christ-like...

    Slavery to Sin

Friday, July 21, 2017, 5:13 a.m. – The Lord Jesus put in mind the song “He Reached Down.” Speak, Lord, your words to my heart. I read varied scriptures (in the ESV) on the subject of slavery to sin. Practicing Sin (Jn. 8:34; Ro. 1:28-32; Gal. 5:19-21) “Jesus answered them, ‘Truly, truly, I say...
