  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    He Who Promised is Faithful

“Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full...

If We Reject Him Who Warns from Heaven

“See that you do not refuse him who is speaking. For if they did not escape when they refused him who warned them on earth, much less will we escape if we reject him who warns from heaven. At that time his voice shook the earth, but now he has promised, ‘Yet once more I will shake not only the...

    Muted Trumpet

On the morning of October 14, 2011, I was reading in Ephesians 1 for my quiet time with the Lord. This passage of Scripture speaks to all of us who have turned from our sins, who have trusted in Jesus Christ to be Lord and Savior of our lives, and who are now walking in his ways and in his truth...

    Laodicea

Have you ever tasted water that is lukewarm? I have, and I wanted to spit it out of my mouth. It tastes good hot, and it tastes good cold, but not lukewarm. Well, that is how God feels about his church who is living in spiritual adultery against him. They aren’t opposed to him, but they are...

    They Have Forsaken the Lord

“Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth; for the Lord has spoken: ‘Children have I reared and brought up, but they have rebelled against me. The ox knows its owner, and the donkey its master's crib, but Israel does not know, my people do not understand.’ “Ah, sinful nation...

Are You Apathetic to the Cause of Christ?

“And to the angel of the church in Laodicea write: ‘The words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of God's creation. “‘I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot! So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will...

    Requirements of Reaching Heaven

I've been debating with someone who is one of the most diehard Christians I've ever known, and she believes (like nearly all Christians) that you must accept Christ and repent to enter heaven. Now, even as an atheist, I could sort of... almost... strangely accept that. However, she also believes...

Does God still forgive when we know we would intentionally repeat the sin again?

Hi, There are times when I don't want to do something, feeling it may be a sin, but I intentionally go ahead anyway as it feels too hard not to. Then although afterwards I confess what I have done to God, I feel if I was in the same position again, I probably wouldn't act differently. Today...
