  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    Not Ever Forsaken

Love One Another Hebrews 13:1-3 NIV Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters. Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it. Continue to remember those in prison as if you were together with them in...

Please note, that this is a Catholic Sub-forum Just found this while roaming around online, I find the conduct by the TFP in this video really inspiring. Anyone who knows me, knows that I have real anger issues, and I also really struggle with anger towards the Left and how they're really...

    In Evil Times

Recalling Your Tears 2 Timothy 1:3-5 NIV I thank God, whom I serve, as my ancestors did, with a clear conscience, as night and day I constantly remember you in my prayers. Recalling your tears, I long to see you, so that I may be filled with joy. I am reminded of your sincere faith, which first...

    Steadfast is Your Love

Jesus said that if we follow him, that we will be hated as he was hated, and that they will treat us the same way as they treated him. We are taught in scripture that we can expect to be persecuted, too, for righteousness’ sake, and that we are blessed when people revile us and say all manner of...

Stephen’s Test of Faith, A Movie that Helps Us Relate to Persecution

"Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me.” - Jesus (Matt. 24:9 NIV) In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, - Paul (2 Tim. 3:12 NIV) The Bible warns us that we will be...

    Too Many Secrets

So many lies. So many secrets. So many things hidden, covered and disguised in order to fool, to deceive, to manipulate. So much fakery and hypocrisy. So many pertinent facts and details willfully withheld, and purposefully omitted, in order to deceive naïve and unsuspecting minds and/or to...

    Hate Evil, Love God

We all have a story to tell, don’t we? It is the story of our lives. It tells where we came from, where we have been, the people we have known, the things we have experienced and felt, where we have lived, the things we have done, both bad and good, the lessons all of this taught us, and where...

    Furnace of Affliction

Why do we go through trials and tribulations? What purpose do they serve? What should our response be to them when we are going through them? Should we try to escape them, to run away from them? Sometimes, if we can, the Lord may lead us to do that, such as he counseled his disciples that if...

    Encouragement for Persecution

Please read John 1:9-11 This is about the third time now that I have come across this. Talking with a member, reading it on someone’s blog and finally in a devotional I just bought not long ago. Not to mention that I had read this same chapter 3 different times. I can’t help but feel this tug...

Passivity or resistance when under life threatening persecution?

Hello - I see there is already a 'Persecution' thread here started by Lik3 but I'd like this one to be focused on the question in the thread title. I've chosen this forum rather than the 'Christians only' alternative as I'm interested in the common human dilemma involved at the heart of the...

    Called to Suffer

In what ways have you been called to suffer in this life? What difference did that suffering make in your life? Did it make you bitter or better? Did it produce in you life or death, or both? Did you run to God or away from God? Did it teach you to love or to hate? Did it humble you or harden...

    These Things

The Lord Jesus led me to read John 16 (Select vv. ESV). “I have said all these things to you to keep you from falling away.” What are “these things” Jesus said to them to keep them from falling away? Well, first off, He spoke “these things” during the Passover Feast with his disciples. Jesus...

    God is Weary

This morning I feel very tired. My eyes are heavy, and I am fighting off going back to sleep. What's the Plan?

Just because Jesus set us free from bondage to sin does not mean we will never be tempted to sin again. We will! Even Jesus was tempted of Satan, yet he never gave in to any temptation. He was without sin. But, not us. So, what do we do when we are tempted? Better yet, what do we do to avoid...

    His Goodness to Us

The Lord Jesus led me to read John 17 (vv. 1-19 ESV). Jesus Christ, the Son of God, when he walked this earth, was fully God yet fully man. He suffered just like we suffer, and he was tempted in like manner as we are also tempted, yet without sin. Although, when on the earth, he healed the sick...
