  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What is the purpose of the Church?

The answer, of course, would depend on what religion is in question. I am interested in other religion's answers for their own particular "Church" (whatever form that may take). What I present is my Catholic Christian answer for this question. The purpose of the Church is to bring Christ to...

    on the church commitment

I'm in a state where I think I'm not ready to commit to a local church. I'm looking out from them because there's more to explore out there (different denominations or church). But on their side the members will surely try to push me to attend to every sunday sermon and cell group gathering. I...

[MOVED] It's like I'm addicted to the approval of the Church?

Hi there, The Kitchen Sink, seems like a good place to put this: I really don't think it fits anywhere, to be addressed to the Church in General, but not some or others, depending on how its interpreted. The question is simple: "Am I addicted to the approval of the Church?" I suppose if it came...

The Devil doesn't want converts to believe they are chosen and appointed

Hi there, So I have been a believer for many years now, and I have frequently struggled, with what my faith means. I said the line "Jesus, I make you my Lord and Saviour" in direct contradiction to the verse "you did not choose me" John 15:16-17. The systemic problem then, went back to what...

Word of God labeled as hate speech

Is this a sign of things that are on its way to the United States? Our values are being rejected and we have already seen the beating of a street preacher and church vandalism right here on our soil. Other countries are already dealing with these issues and Christians aren't winning. Hate Crime...

    Online Church advice

Hi there I've been following this popular online Church in another country these last 6 months and I love it. Their sermons, live.music, brilliant, and I've given money to them a few times when I can, tithe. Is it okay I continue this online Church even though I don't physically go to a local...

God's Service Versus A Church Service

Recently, I read the following post on Facebook, "If we cannot enjoy a few hours in God’s service once a week in this world, it is plain to see that we could not enjoy an eternity in His service in the world to come... Too many have no heart for God’s service." This message spoke volumes of...

Should I volunteer in a local Church?

Hi there, I'm a new Christian, and a Church local to me I was Baptised in earlier this year. I emailed the Priest last week, asking if there is anything I can help with - even though there are no service with audiences live in the Church. The Priest got back to me, asking if I can help with the...

We Should Switch To Vegan And Homemade Pet Foods!

Good day, all. I was thinking about people going more sustainable in the world, eating more organic & vegan foods, when naturally, I thought, "Hey, animals eat food, too!" And so I was inspired to give my pets organic homemade and vegan food. I have a ferret, Ferret Homemade Diet: Canned...

Let Jesus, be interested in You

Hi there, So this is a fresh revelation, for me, that Jesus actually needs the opportunity to be interested in You - He made You, so for Him to have a relationship is something of first importance to Him, but more than that, it is a relationship that He desires to be invested in: Jesus actually...

The Bible is the Word of God. Ok, but how do you know that?

All Christians believe that the book they hold in their hands and that has the word 'Bible' printed on it is the Word of God, inspired and infallibly true. But not all Christians believe this for the same reason. Furthermore, not all Christians have the same Bible. Some have more books than...

Is withdrawing from church activities the same as looking back?

I think l now have the magic touch of destruction and I was planning to withdraw from mainly all church activities but our sermon...

    Do You Go To Church?

A common term used in today’s Christian Religion (local church system) is to “go to church.” However, when put in proper perspective this term makes about as much sense as asking someone how much does the color blue weigh? The Church, Body of Christ, is not a place to go to, it is a spiritual...

    Church and State

Something on my mind lately - is there a link between church and state? More specifically, does anyone have any perspective on what seems to be a link between democracy/capitalism/Protestantism compared to monarchy/feudalism/Roman Catholicism and Eastern Orthodoxy? This isn’t to criticise...

Jesus Prayed To The Father For Unity In The Body Of Christ

"I am not asking on behalf of them alone (His disciples), but also on behalf of those who will believe in Me through their message (all true believers), that all of them may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I am in You. May they also be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent...

It Is Time To Get Back To The Essentials

There is no time better than now for true followers of Christ to get back to the essentials of what it means to be a Christian. Today's local church system has wandered so far from the narrow path that many would not even recognize it. However, it is just a step away for those who choose to...

Virtual v Physical, doing church in a Pandemic

Our church had a discussion meeting last week about the Pandemic. One man said he was giving communion to his family blessing the bread and the wine. Church Upside Down

Ephesians 4:11-13 ESV “And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood...
