  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hello! You're right 1.5% was an old figure from a previous UK Census. The last UK census in 2023 gave 3.8% identifying as gay or queer, 10.4% of 18-24 year olds. Still hugely less than the 41% of content on Netflix which means Netflix are promoting an agenda not representing demographics. Their agenda seems to be working, the number of people identifying as homosexual is increasing. God Bless :)
the articles I’ve seen aren’t clear on definitions, but talk about themes or characters. So that suggests that 41% have at least one gay character. US numbers seem larger than UK, but even 10% would be consistent with at least one gay character in 41% ovf shows. Since the 41% is for shows for youth, that population number is the one to use. Of course Netflix is from the US, so likely the producers are looking at the 23% number.

I doubt they have any agenda other than appealing to their audience. Admittedly, it’s probably their audience as imagined by Hollywood producers, who seem less than clueful about Christians who aren’t right wing nuts.
