  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What does it mean? Is it prophecy? Is it instruction to believers? Literal, symbolic, both? How should this book be approached and understood?

Revelation covers pass prophecies in The Tanakh and supplies some new information. It can be taken literal and symbolic, the context will determined this.

For an example the king of the north in Daniel 11 is the same person as the beast from the sea, who is also Paul's man of sin in 2 Thessalonians.

In The Tanakh, in Daniel 11 the king of the north is seen as coming to his end. But in Revelation it is seen that the king is actually killed but is brought back to life and becomes possessed by a past Roman ruler.

There are also seven kings. Five have fallen, one is, and the other has not yet come. And when he comes, he must continue a short time. The beast that was, and is not, is himself also the eighth, and is of the seven, and is going to perdition.

Revelation is figurative.
