Tell you what, we should all petition the government to build a battery plant in the town you live. I am sure you would appreciate the work. I grew up in the rubber city, and manufacturing jobs were abundant but the air quality was poison.

My brother works for GM as a mechanic. They are already trained to work on electric vehicles. Biden is just offering an incentive to encourage more production of electric vehicles.

I saw that massively increase during Trumps era too. Perhaps its the capitalist paradigm they both subscribe to thats the problem.

Fascism would be if Biden accused GM of selling national secrets to China, so he seizes the company and sells it to his biggest supporters for $15 million, and then he orders them to make golf carts for his wealthy friends. Then when a reporter writes an article exposing his corruption, he has a paramilitary firebomb their office and his children sent off to a re-education camp.

Internal combustion engines burning gasoline are highly inefficient. Less than 25 percent of the energy consumed is turned into work, the rest is waste heat. Gasoline combustion also produces CO2 and contributes to climate change.
