Humm, I had a cop be nice to be too, does that mean he's gay? :p

Sometimes cops just take into account that you're human, so treat them with respect, and it'll be appreciated.

^_^

And yes, I agree that they seem to have a reputation for being hardnoses, but often times they show grace to the citizens they interact with and/or pull over. :)

Shame on anybody, male or female, who tries to get out of traffic tickets, btw.

YES! We should all be ashamed of trying to save money! Seriously. The cop has the last say, and the cop is much more likely to let a woman off than a man. Especially if they are attractive.

This isn't "trying to save money", like clipping grocery store coupons, lol. You break a law, you deserve what you get, plain & simple. I've never felt wronged or treated unfairly when getting a ticket. I did something to deserve it, and the cop was right to give it to me. Besides, if you pay a stiff fine, you're a LOT less likely to repeat the offense.

Anywho, this is a bit off topic, so...I'm done with that one :)

Double standards go both ways it's true....as for tickets hmmm I've gotten out of some and warnings on others and pardons at the courthouse at others...ok wait you all I haven't had that many-I think I've had 3 tickets and two were back to back one day apart by the same cop in the same spot lol-but when I went to court and the cop was there-he went up to talk to the clerk and he must have liked me becuase they made me pay one but forgave me for the one that would have added points to my record-SWEET! And I never said a WORD to him when he gave me the tickets-though I did huff and puff a bit w/the second one the next day lol

And two others I got out of was because I just told them the truth-and they sent me w/a warning-I did not flirt w/one...the other he started flirting w/me when he came up so I just joked back w/him when he asked for my address if he was going to come pick me up for dinner LOL...I see no harm in especially if they give me a friendly vibe.

Once I got out of a ticket for crossing a red light. I was like 8 months pregnant---i waited and waited and waited and the light wouldn't change I thought it was broken...so I turned and got pulled over. I honestly had to pee SO bad I thought I would do it in the car-you canNOT hold it when pregnant and sitting w/huge baby on the bladder-as he approached I'm doing the "rocking" thing we do lol-he said gotta go? I said YES, sorry the light wouldn't change-he told me go quick and just waved me on-I was literally at my work building lol

I find it odd that women can act in ways that guys never can, double standards I say.

like today for example some woman from work comes up and starts making a bit of a light joke about me gaining a bit of weight around my tummy. I wasn't offened and made a bit of a joke about it too. But if I ever made a joke about any womans weight gain, even if I knew them.... wow.... :dead:

or like with sexual harassment, it's so much easier for a guy to get in hot water over something they said or did. Whereas a female could do the exact same thing to a male and he wouldn't really care. like this lady I kinda know at work(yeah my work sounds crazy), just kinda slapped my <staff edit> as a joke. I was kinda like lol ok whatever . But if I did the same too a chick.... :dead:

A guy can get touched or talked too in a way by a female that is inappropriate if it's reveresed even in the same situation.

not complaining really, more just an observation.

in a way i can see your point. i mean i think double standards go both ways as others have said here, but...
i didn't feel sexually harrassed when i had a drive-by butt pincher in highschool. i liked it :D some harrassment is good lol

I once had a cop pull me over for doing 60 in a 45 and then let me go without a ticket b/c he said my perfume smelled pretty. :D

lol, which perfume were you wearing? (seriously.)

I don't wear perfume, it upsets my skin. :(

Re: double standards - my uncle was sexually harassed at his last job. His superior was a woman and their dealer ship was away on a business trip. She cornered him in an elevator and tried to get him to have sex with her. She told him that if he did, she could promote him. And if he refused, she would get him fired.

He refused, and was fired.

He's trying to file a lawsuit about it but it's her word against his, and, well... unfortunately in situations like this, the woman tends to win out even when she's the perpetrator. :(

Maybe your uncle could call the hotel and see if they have a surveillance system in the elevator? Although, the tape has probably taped over itself at this point.

I've been harrassed by male supervisors twice when I was younger. One of them had known me since I was a little girl, too, so it was extra creepy. He cornered me at my cash register and told me he was going to kiss me. Totally freaked me out. The other boss invited me to a hot tub party (he was married and his wife wasn't going) then threatened to tell my boyfriend at the time (who was a co-worker) that I was cheating on him with one of the other guys that worked with us while he was away on a work trip.

Share. :) Saying that makes us automatically interested.
Well, since you are interested. :p

I agree with others that double standards go both ways. Whether you are a man or woman, what's good for the goose isn't always what's good for the gander.

Although a woman can flirt her way out of a speeding ticket, I've seen it so many times. Im thinking now if that were me and I told the cop how handsome he looked in his uniform and how beautiful his eyes were he is likely to pull me out of the car and beat the crap out of me.;)

I've got out of some trouble by flirting with a (cute) female police officer before!

Works both ways. Men sleep around with a bunch of girls, and he gets labeled cool and a studly by the world. A woman does it and she gets labeled all kinds of nasty insults.

Men can get away with just as much stuff that women can't. The only times we really complain is when it comes to something we can't get away with and really needed to be able to at that time.

Coach

Great way of putting it.

I agree, this is nasty but you gotta fight fire with fire. One exception aside*, unless it was a joke, i return with something similar about them.... if that hurts their feelings, then that's too bad. What goes around, comes around.

*There's a girl at my work who is really aggressive (verbally), always taunting people, and i always come back with something to her, but last week she said "i could never do it with a slim guy [i'm slim], i'm afraid he'd break in half". The irony is that she's rather big herself, so i had plenty of opportunities to counter, but i replied with "You love me, i know you do" which made her smile, didn't want things to escalate which happens really fast with her.

I don't understand why you're complaining, she obviously likes you, for her to do something like that, and when she does that, you have a right to do the same to her, so do it! It's the best thing to close to gap to the first kiss.
