Okay, now I'm getting big-time spooked.

I did a google search on ID chips, and I clicked on the first link in the results, an L. A. Times site. You will not believe what happened. Something ran across my screen, like a shadow. It did it a couple of times. It almost looked like a devil with a pitch fork. I'm not kidding you. Here's the link, it's weird.

It's sad that the families will do this to their elders rather than take care of them themselves.

Serious problem with ethics here.

I checked out the site Auntie, I didn't see the shadow you are talking about... but I am familiar with that type of script...

A lot of companies are using that sort of applet as an advertisement nowadays (which is probably what it was).

However, a mischeviosu little hacker coudl easily slip something like that in there to freak out unsuspecting computer users. It wasn't there when i checked out the link so I suspect that that is what it was.

Okay, I went back to the site and the shadowy figure wasn't there again. So I deleted my temp internet files, and then deleted all the temp files dated 5/9/02 & 5/10/02. Especially files that I was not familiar with. Then I rebooted & came back to this thread and clicked on my link again, and THERE IT WAS AGAIN!

I'm sure it probably is a hacker, and the L.A.Times site is probably trying to get rid of him. It's still very weird tho, and it scared me because I wasn't expecting it. Which was probably what the hacker wanted, to scare people.

I don't have any virus protector or a firewall, so I thought I might have a virus. I've never seen anything like that before, and it was spooky to see it with a story about ID chips.

How long did you have to wait before the figure appeared? I'd like to take a look at it.

In Christ,

Acts6:5

Hiya Acts,

It comes up almost immediately, while the page is loading.

I think it is associated with an advertisement. At the top of the page there is advertising which changes every time you hit refresh or everytime you come back to the site. The advertisment that causes the figure to appear is something like a neptune. And now I think the webmaster has deleted that advertisment, because I'm not seeing it anymore. But keep trying if you want to see it. Maybe it is still there.

...Are we in the end times?...
I believe we are.

...Why?...
In the parable of the fig tree, I believe Jesus was saying that the generation that saw the re-establishment of the nation of physical Israel (the rebudding of the fig tree) would see the tribulation and 2nd coming (Matthew 24:32-34). The nation of physical Israel was re-established in 1948 and I believe a generation is 70 years, for Psalm 90:10 speaks of how long it takes for a generation to pass away, which is exactly what Jesus refers to.

...I believe that we (believers) will be "caught up" before the tribulation...
Note that no scripture promises us a rapture before the tribulation. Jesus says he will come to gather us together "immediately after the tribulation" (Matthew 24:29-31), and Paul says Jesus' coming to gather us together must "destroy" the Antichrist (2 Thessalonians 2:1-8). We Christians must go through the coming tribulation (Revelation 13:7-10, 14:12-13).

...Why would we be raptured only to immediately return with Jesus?...
Our being caught up into the clouds to meet Jesus' at his coming and then returning back to the earth with him will be similar to the people coming out of Jerusalem to meet Jesus and then returning back to the city with him (John 12:12-13) or the Roman Christians coming out of Rome to meet Paul and returning back to the city with him (Acts 28:15-16).

And just as planes go up, then back down, for good purpose, so the rapture will serve a good purpose. We will have been gathered from all over the world into one place in the clouds so that we all might descend together with the Lord to Jerusalem. As a brother said, "God doesn't want to wait for his people to WALK to Jerusalem from all over the world."

...no one ever knows when Jesus's coming back...
"But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be" (Matthew 24:36-37).

I believe that in Matthew 24:36-37 Jesus is referring to the same "coming of the Son of man" as when he said "immediately after the tribulation of those days... they shall see the Son of man coming" (Matthew 24:29-30). I don't believe that Jesus taught a 3rd coming. Jesus is speaking to the same people in Matthew 24:15 that he is speaking to in Matthew 24:42.

Note that Jesus didn't say "no one will know the day" (future tense) but "no one knows the day" (present tense in translation, perfect tense in Greek).

Note the exact correlation of the phrase and tense of "knoweth no man" in Matthew 24:36 and 1 Corinthians 2:11-12: "Even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God." See also: "When he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth... and he will shew you things to come" (John 16:13).

Jesus said his coming would be "as the days of Noah were" (Matthew 24:36-37). God told Noah when the flood would come shortly before it came: "For yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights" (Genesis 7:4). He told him because: "Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets" (Amos 3:7).

Shortly before the 2nd coming, I believe the Lord will likewise through his Spirit reveal to his prophets in the church the day of his coming. I believe those of us alive and still faithful at the abomination of desolation will know that we'll have to wait only 1,335 days until Jesus comes: "From the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days. Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days" (Daniel 12:11-12).

...The tribulation saints...
Is there a verse which refers to "tribulation saints," and says they aren't part of the church? Doesn't the church include every believer? "There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith" (Ephesians 4:4-5), which body is the church: "the church, which is his body" (Ephesians 1:22-23).

How could we Christians who will be in the tribulation after the cross and after Pentecost (i.e. not OT) who have washed our "robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb" (Revelation 7:14) and have "the faith of Jesus" (Revelation 14:12) and are "in the Lord" (Revelation 14:13) not be in the church?

...the five foolish virgins...
In the parable of the 10 virgins, some believe the wise virgins must be taken in a pre-trib rapture. But the door is closed at Christ's coming (Matthew 25:10, compare Luke 13:24-28), which Jesus had just finished saying would be "immediately after the tribulation" (Matthew 24:29-31). There's no 3rd coming of Christ.

True no scripture promises this, but many do hint at it being true. Take a look at the other disasters that Jesus related it to. Noah and Lot. Noah got in the boat before, Lot was taken out of the city before. The only real exception to the predictability would be in the exile from Eqypt thing. Where they were there and had to deal with the plagues before they were taken out. But there was no real annihalation going on to save them from. Except Passover which by the blood of the Lamb they were saved (see the parallel?) Yeah that's apparently how God works a LOT. Parallels! Check out some other situations in the Bible and see how God handled them. In a similar situation, I believe He would handle it the same. So in the instance of this situation, Jesus related it Noah and Lot. Dealing with God's character and all, He will probably do it similarly to these same events. Therefore one can assume that pre-trib would be the way to go. But then again, you go either way, so "it's all good!" Pray on.

...Noah and Lot...
Some teach that the church must be spared from the tribulation like Noah and Lot were spared. But the same coming is referred to in Matthew 24:37 that is referred to in Matthew 24:30. There's no 3rd coming of Christ. The Bible says Noah's deliverance was a type of our deliverance through baptism (1 Peter 3:20-21), not rapture, and the judgment on Sodom and Gomorrha was a type of the eternal judgment of hellfire (Jude 7), not a type of the tribulation.

...the tribulation isn't God's wrath...
I believe it's possible neither the seals nor the trumpets are his wrath.

Note that during the tribulation nobody in heaven says God's wrath "is come" until after the 7th trumpet (Revelation 11:15, 18), in the 7 vials (Revelation 15:1).

The vials contain God's wrath (Revelation 16), yet not one of them is directed at Christians. I believe we are even blessed at the 6th vial (Revelation 16:15), that we might endure to the 1,335th day (Daniel 12:12).
