John 13:34 Mark 12:29-31 Notice Jesus said ”there are No Commandments greater than these”, these two commandments are greater than the Ten Commandments.
Yes, and what makes up the commandments on how to love God and how to love our neighbor? Do you really think it doesn't include the very first commandment God wrote and said to only worship Him, or not vain His holy name? Or any of the first 4 commandments God personally wrote and God personally spoke that tells us how do to this? What was Jesus quoting when He said this? He was quoting OT Deut6:5 and what was happening at this time? This is when Moses repeated the Ten Commandments 40 years after God spoke and wrote them, right before entering their promise land for them to diligently keep and teach their children to diligently keep - so the greatest commandments are not some arbitrary feeling just as Paul said when he quoted the second greatest comamndment to love thy neighbor and what the details entail Rom13:9
People fail to see that Jesus came to save us from the ministry of death, written and engraved on stones, the Ten Commandments. 2 Corinthians 3:7
You left out the context of this passage. Paul is showing the Ten Commandments went from tablets of stone to tablets of the heart 2Cor3:3. The wages of sin (breaking God's Law's) is death Rom6:23 even in the NT if we are not abiding in Christ. Someone in Christ is not disobeying His commandments but are keeping them through faith and love John15:10 John14:15-18.
It should be obvious that no one can keep the Ten Commandments because all have sinned and , 1 Corinthians 15:56
Yes, all has sinned, but sadly this teaching is saying the devil has more power to keep us in our sins than God does to save us from our sins Mat1:21.
God tells us there are a people who overcomes Rev14:12 If one feels they can't I would suggest more time in prayer asking for His help. The Law is not the issue Rom7:12 Psa19:7 the issue is our heart. Many love their sins more than their love for Jesus to go to Him and ask for His help in turning from and forsaking them.
It is spiritually illogical to continue trying to keep a law that you can never keep.
Sad, this is what the other spirit wants us to believe, that its impossible to obey God so why try.
Mat 19:26 But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible,
but with God all things are possible.”
The two commandments Jesus gave are kept by GODS love in us. Romans 5:5 Romans 13:10
Jesus gave us a lot more than 2 commandments. He clearly said He did not come to destroy His own laws, but to fulfill. Mat5:17 It was prophesized He would magnify His laws, which makes them greater Isa42:21, not smaller and He fulfilled this perfectly by showing an example of this right from the Ten Commandments Mat5:19-30. He said not a jot or tittle can pass from this law, not to break or teach others to break the least of these commandments. Jesus taught on His commandments often, never once telling anyone we no longer need to keep. He condemned this very teaching. Mat5:3-14 Mark7:7-13 Mat5:19-30
This GODLY love by HIS spirit is what will fulfill the law.
Yes, but by His Spirit If we love Him, we would be keeping His commandments, not breaking them. Why receiving His Spirit is conditional on our cooperation
John 14:15
“If you love Me,
keep My commandments. 16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another [
e]Helper, that He may abide with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.
Acts 5:32 32 And we are His witnesses to these things, and
so also
is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey Him.”
Those who do not subject themselves to the law of God are not walking in His Spirit, but their own flesh and are an enemy to God.
Rom 8:7 Because the [
c]carnal mind
is enmity against God;
for it is not subject to the law of God,
nor indeed can be. 8 So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
Why we need to be born again so we can receive His Spirit and can obey Him through His power abiding in Him John15:10 walking as He walked for our example 1John2:6
This is GOD working in us rather than we attempting to keep a law that only kills us.
This is the exact opposite of what the Scripture says. Breaking the Law and sinning 1joh3:4 is what kills us Rom6:23 Heb10:26-30 Mat7:23 1John2:4
Obeying God's commandments through faith and love reconciles us back to Him
Rev 22:14
Blessed are those who
do His commandments,
that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city.
Compared to the next verse- the law breakers Rev22:15 quoting directly from the Ten Commandments
Trying to keep the Ten Commandments is your work
Not according to Scripture
Exo 32:16 Now the tablets
were the work of God, and
the writing was the writing of God engraved on the tablets.
Eph2:10 For
we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works,
which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
but the two greatest of all commandments that Jesus gave are GOD working in us.
They are one in the same. Do you really believe Jesus wants us to worship other gods or steal from our neighbor. Sadly, these types of comments is something Scripture addresses
1 John 2:3 Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments.
4 He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5
But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God [a]is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. 6
He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.
What the Ten Commandments could not do GOD did, Romans 8:3 Galatians 4:4-5 Hebrews 10:1-10 Romans 3:20 Acts 13:39 Galatians 2:21
So many out of context verses. For example can you tell me in the Ten Commandment where are animal sacrifices that is referenced in Heb 10:1-10? You are confusing the Law that defines sin 1John3:4 James 2:11 Rom7:7 Mat5:19-30 with the law that was given because of sin Lev 4:35 until the Seed Heb10:1-10. Sadly many do confuse these very different laws because they do not understand the OT and how sins were atoned for and what is sin.
Trying to keep the old covenant Ten Commandments actually denies all that Christ did and you will fall from grace. Galatians 5:4
This verse does not say the Ten Commandments so why are you adding to the Scriptures. Read verse 19 to know Paul is not speaking about the Ten Commandments. The Testimony of God Exo31:18 that was written by the Holy Spirit of Truth, the Ten Commandments Deut4:13 that sits under God's mercy seat Exo25:21 (atonement) what we will all be judged by James2:11-12 Ecc12:13-14 Mat5:19-30 Rev22:14-15 why we see it in the NT Rev15:5 Rev11:19 in heaven and revealed at the last trumpet Rev11:18-19 before the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. As it is His standard of righteousness Psa119:172 Isa56:1-2 which is everlasting Psa119:142
Keep in mind, the only warning we have about someone is Paul and its a very serious salvation warning of twisting Scriptures to ones own destruction 2Peter3:16. Paul was never in rebellion to God. He came to preach the gospel, not change God's written and spoken Testimony. Exo31:18 Deut4:13. The whole Bible is about the testimony of God through His prophets and apostles John5:39 which one of these has a greater testimony than God Himself Exo31:18, none. Why His own Word will judge us John12:48
If we have been given a new covenant then why do people still want to be under the old covenant ?
Yes, the New Covenant is God's Laws going from tablets of stone (only the Ten Commandments) to tablets of the heart 2Cor3:3 Heb8:10 God not breaking His promise of not altering the words of His covenant Exo 34:28 Psa89:34, not a jot or tittle Mat5:18 because no one has more authority than God to change His own written and spoken Testimony Exo31:18
None of this writing will have any effect on a die hard law keeper because they are not converted and can’t understand.
Jesus said those who lay aside the commandments of God make His
word of no effect Mat15:3-14 Mark7:7-13 following popular traditions over the commandments of God.
