But those verses in my view mean the opposite of what you say, especially taken in conjunction with the words of Stephen in Acts 7 which I quoted previously, and Solomon't words about the temple he built. You seem to say (please forgive me if I have misunderstood) that creation is the temple of God, whereas the verses have God asking that in view of the fact heaven is His throne, earth is His footstool, and He brought about Creation, how can mankind imagine that they could build a house for such an almighty God?He does. God doesn't dwell on someone else's throne in someone else's temple.
On His throne, in His temple.
God's temple is where He rests, which as you've pointed out, is stated in several places. Namely
Isaiah 66:1-2 ESV
[1] Thus says the Lord: “Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool; what is the house that you would build for me, and what is the place of my rest? [2] All these things my hand has made, and so all these things came to be, declares the Lord.
That is, heaven and earth. It is creation, as verse 2 states.
