  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Why are you so insistence that it doesn't, when it does.
A short while ago you told us that you are learning Spanish and/or the Lord's Prayer in Spanish.
How are you learning the Spanish language? I am going to guess that it's through a Spanish language course or textbook.
Why are you doing that?
Don't you know that in the NT Paul mentioned that he planned to go to Spain? He mentioned Spain in the Bible - why don't you use your English KJV to learn Spanish?

Do you understand now the difference between mentioning something and teaching it?
None of the verses you quoted teach science. If they did, I would know a lot about science since I read/study the Bible a lot. But if I took a GCSE in general science and told my tutors that I learnt it because the Bible mentions it, they'd give me a 1st class degree in idiocy.

What for ?
To prove your insistence that the Bible teaches science.
I don't like science, myself, but show me where osmosis, photosynthesis, meiosis, chemical interactions etc are taught in Scripture and I'll be a scientific genius.

I know that the Bible teaches us stuff, from the earth to the glory of our Saviour, so stop insulting my intelligence by asking me such stupid questions.

It's not a stupid question.
You have said before that the Bible "mentions the earth a lot" Mentioning something is not the same as teaching it; I'm sorry if you can't understand that.

The Bible tells us THAT God created the earth, the trees, the animals and humans. It does not teach us HOW he created them.
Did he create seeds that grew instantly? Did he create seeds that grew in real-time so that the next "day" it looked like they were 1000 years old? Did he trick everyone by creating fully grown, mature trees which looked as though they were 500 years old but were in fact only a minute old?
How did God's words, "let the land produce trees" become seeds/acorns/fully grown trees? Why can't we speak things into existence?
God saw us when where were growing in the womb; how did we grow? How did our legs and arms develop? What chemical reactions took place to allow our nerves, bones, blood vessels, heart etc. to appear? How did some people end up with an extra chromosome? How did an egg split so that twins were born? Why, in some cases, did it not split completely and the twins ended up cojoined? How does a dragonfly reproduce? How is it that it's male seahorses that give birth? Why do butterflies have different patterns and colours on their wings? Where did the Psalmist teach us photosynthesis? Or what makes a rainbow?

Answers from the Bible only, please - since you are adamant that the Bible teaches science.

So the earth is a square? Is that what you are suggesting?

Who knows, but it certainly isn't a ball.

The Book of Enoch teaches one about;

The fallen angels & what each fallen angel taught, the moon, sun & the stars & the heavens.

The Book of Heavenly Luminaries is some of the most egregiously phony rubbish that I've ever read. Its hilarious descriptions of the various heavenly bodies are so ridiculous that I can't see anyonereading it with a straight face. And supposedly dictated by an angel, forsooth! Some "teaching" there, the kind that reinforces Barnum's assertion that there's a sucker born every minute. Pure hogwash.

So much for the "water always finds its level" argument. You don't seem to care how stupid, ridiculous or incompatible your various models are, just as long as it isn't a globe.

How ridiculous is it that the earth is a flat disc?
No wait, it's a flat disc which is over 40,000 feet deep. No wait its something that has 4 corners.
No wait, who knows what shape it is but it certainly isn't a globe/ball.
