  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Right again, as I don't even know what results your talking about as you've post so much (& don't take this the wrong way) silliness.

You have said a) that the earth is a flat disc and b) that it's more than 40,000 feet deep.
I've asked you to draw, or make, such a shape. If it sounds silly it's because it's impossible. Look at a CD; how deep is the hole in the middle? Probably not even 4mm.
You cannot draw a flat disc that is even 40 feet deep, never mind more than 40,000.

I've explained all this in post 99

I've explained all this in post 99
You "explained" it by posting a picture that someone else has produced.
You can't prove it; you can't draw a disc that is 40 feet deep, otherwise you would have done it.

Explain plz.
I've told you; I am not a scientist so I can't explain.
Others can, and have. It seems that the answer includes the word gravity - which you flatly refuse to believe, even though you witness it every day.

How does this work on a ball ?
That's what gravity does. The earth as a huge ball has enough attractive force (gravity) to cause things not to go flying off into space. That's how God created it.

Sigh if you want to, but something that is circular in cross-section, and 40,000 feet deep is not a disc but a cylinder. Are you now telling us you believe in a cylindrical earth?

I may not understand what gravity is but I do know that water always finds its own level, so for gravity to hold all the seas on a ball is just impossible & laughable.
Water finding its own level does not disprove gravity. If gravity acts equally all around the earth, then it acts equally on all the water in the seas, so of course it finds its own level.

A flat stationary earth would not need gravity. As simply being heavier than air will keep a person grounded.

Gravity has only been invented. Because if scientist are going to say the earth is a rotating water sphere. They will need something to keep the water, people, etc.. on a moving sphere. So they invent this magical "what they call force" to solve this problem.
Being heavier than air wouldn’t matter in zero gravity. In zero gravity if you put a balloon under water it wouldn’t float because there’s nothing pulling the water molecules in any direction.

Earth — the blue marble — is our spherical home. But what if Earth were flat? After all, some people, called flat-earthers, truly believe in this retrograde idea. How would everyday life function? Would it function at all? We explore how much of an oddball, or "oddslice" Earth would be if it were flat and whether there are any advantages to living on a strange disk with the sun and moon rotating overhead like a cosmic carousel.

1. Say goodbye to gravity (at least as we know it)

Gravitropism is the gravitational process that directs a plant's roots to grow downward and its shoot upward. If gravity were altered to be orientated toward the North Pole, we could see plants acting strangely.'s roots to grow downward and its shoot upward. Yeah, imagine what it would do to the oceans, they’d all be pulled towards the center. There would be only one ocean and it would be one huge mound of water.

I don’t quite agree with this because plants are known to grow towards the sun and in cases where they only get sunlight on one side they will grow towards that direction causing them to lean despite the gravitational pull. It’s called phototropism.

Okay I can except gravity, but I will never except that it is the force of gravity that keeps all the seas on a ball.

True, but this isn't the truth & needs to be investigated further.

When you still do not understand how even basic things work, you are hardly in a position to say "this is not the truth".

It's just simple logic, anyone can do it.
