  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Operation Lone Star continues to fill the dangerous gaps left by the Biden Administration's refusal to secure the border. Every individual who is apprehended or arrested and every ounce of drugs seized would have otherwise made their way into communities across Texas and the nation due to President Joe Biden's open border policies.
The Biden border policies are madness and the human toll due to human trafficking and drugs are staggering. Democrats are going to have to unite to stop this. Texas alone will not be enough.

Indeed, the cries of the women and children who continue to be raped fall on deaf ears of the administration. They helped deliver them into the hands of predators and have no idea as to the whereabouts of 85,000 children!

Please, don’t pretend to care about the lives of children when massacred classrooms are an acceptable loss to Republicans so they can shoot beer cans in the woods without being inconvenienced by the greater good.

How exactly did this administration "HELP" deliver these people into the hands of these predators? And which administration launched the family separation policy that this administration ended, and which candidate says he will immediately resurrect that policy if elected again?

HHS has been giving the kids to "sponsors" that are not parents or relatives. Recall the case where a 13 year old was given to a guy he met on FACEBOOK and the kid was threatened and extorted. Children have tried to contact HHS when they are in bad situations but many received no response. Mayorkas claimed he did not know what the immigrant bracelets were for. The cartels keep track that way and know how much each immigrant owes to the cartel. The lucky women and children are not sex trafficked, but work out their debt in other ways. Maybe as drug runners, maybe hard labor.

Somewhere along this line of events, good rationale has to wonder, can people be so brazenly evil? No, apparently not altogether brazen, they still seek darkness to hide the loading of buses at 1:45 am while inactive patriotic veterans confront the coup complicit TX-National Guard for not honoring Abbott's order in securing the border, but turn their backs and assist in this massive transport to the nation's interior.

Texas troopers told to push back migrants to the Rio Grande River and ordered not to give water amid soaring temperatures, report says

Emails shared with CNN by the Texas Department of Public Safety detail a trooper-medic expressing concerns to a supervisor over the inhumane treatment of migrants along the border in Eagle Pass, Texas.

On another shift, the medics said they found about 120 people camping out – including nursing babies and other young children – exhausted, hungry and tired after a day when the temperature reached 108 degrees in the shade. The medics questioned an order to push them back to the river toward Mexico as they thought it was “not the correct thing to do” and one that could have led to a risk of drowning. They were told to leave the area, the trooper wrote in the email.

The trooper-medics contacted their superiors while on duty and again in writing, calling for changes to the latest Operation Lone Star policies brought in by Abbott.

“I believe we have stepped over a line into the [inhumane]. We need to operate it correctly in the eyes of God,” the trooper said. “We need to operate it correctly in the eyes of God. We need to recognize that these are people who are made in the image of God and need to be treated as such.”

A state trooper this summer told a supervisor that there was a directive not to give migrants water even in extreme heat, and that Texas Guard soldiers had been ordered to press back an exhausted 4-year-old girl trying to cross the razor wire, according to an email obtained by The Houston Chronicle from a confidential source. The trooper also mentioned barrels wrapped with razor wire that he described as “traps” that had been placed in areas of the river with high water and low visibility.

Exclusive: Razor wire along the Rio Grande is blocking border agents from reaching at-risk migrants
EAGLE PASS — Razor wire put up by the state of Texas along the Rio Grande is blocking Border Patrol agents from reaching at-risk migrants — including families with infants and unaccompanied children — and increasing the risk of drownings, according to a Customs and Border Protection document obtained by Hearst Newspapers.

...The state has strung wire along much of the Rio Grande near Eagle Pass, a section of the border that has seen a surge of Venezuelan and Cuban migrants over the past year. It has gone up across gates that the Border Patrol uses to quickly reach the river, according to the document.

The wire is preventing agents from getting to asylum-seekers — some of whom have said they have been stuck in the river for hours and days, exposed to the elements with little to no help from Texas Department of Public Safety officers, according to the document.

Texas Troopers Killed 74 People in Vehicle Chases Since Implementing Controversial Border Program

From March 2021 to July 2023, 74 people were killed and nearly 200 were injured in vehicle chases occurring in counties affected by Operation Lone Star.

"Across the United States, police departments have adopted restrictions on when law enforcement can engage in a vehicle pursuit," the report reads, adding that the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) "has not restricted vehicle pursuits….Texas DPS and several other law enforcement agencies have engaged in dangerous and deadly pursuits on a weekly basis in the 60 counties implementing OLS or experiencing DPS deployments under OLS."

As a result, unnecessary police chases have increased by as much as 1,000 percent in some Texas counties.

In all, from March 2021 to July 2023, 74 drivers, passengers, or bystanders were killed in these chases, and 189 more were wounded. Those killed include seven bystanders, including a 7-year-old girl and her 71-year-old grandmother.

If there was true justice Joe Biden and Mayorkas would be charged as accessories.

A long line of people in reflective blankets slowly taking their place in a queue among orange fencing doesn't strike me as the "invasion" that some conservative commentators have told me is occurring. To me, that looks like it might be a bunch of people who crossed the border and waiting to be apprehended so they could request asylum.

Thousands of illegal immigrants per day at just one location seems to be perfectly reasonable to liberals.

If they're turning themselves in at the border and requesting asylum, they're not illegal.

Demonizing a bunch of people fleeing an economic catastrophe seems to be perfectly reasonable to conservatives. But hey, you won the birth lottery and were born into a country with a stable government and economy; it's okay to dump on people who are trying to do the same thing your ancestors likely did 100-ish years ago.

I believe that everyone should obey the laws. I am not dehumanizing anyone at all. In my job, I work everyday with LEGAL immigrants who came across the border legally and were vetted by my company before hiring them. I don't have any problem at all with LEGAL immigrants.
However, the years long history of Illegal immigration is not good for any country to have.
Can you point to any other nation in the world that is dealing with massive numbers of illegal immigrants in the same manner as the USA?

You don't live in Eagle Pass, do you? There are a lot of gotaways, they have caught about a hundred on the terrors list who waited nicely in those lines, it is reasonable to assume that those on the terrorist list or with documented criminal records or Chinese military are typically not going to wait in line to be processed. Certainly there are many being sex trafficked in those lines, Joe makes sure they get free transportation to the locations ordered by the cartels, a phone, etc. What you are seeing are the results of a president who has utter contempt for multiple immigration laws, a president usurping the power of the people, a president violating his oath of office.

The Biden administration is responsible for so many of these immigrants being preyed upon by the cartels and other criminal entities.
The drugs and human trafficking, the sex trafficking of children, the raping of women--an international disaster. Their actions are deliberate and are motivated by a quest for more power and control. This is far different than an orderly compassionate process where those seeking to come to our country apply legally and are willing to wait. Instead countries can empty their prisons and send their hardened criminals and gang members. Joe's lack of concern for those in need was apparent when Joe's people tied those who had helped America in Afghanistan up in red tape and then abandoned them to the Taliban.
