"So yes, at the root, the age of the Earth is salvational."

Your words.
So i have agreed that those are my words... three times.
What are you waiting for... a [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse] to crow?

I stand by what I said... and not the version you posted.
It was a quote. Own it.
Please at least address the argument presented to you and not your own version of it.
Your version, as I recall, was "So yes, at the root, the age of the Earth is salvational."

Good news for the Muslims and Orthodox Jews, though!

Why do you insist on dividing the body of Christ?

Then stop trying to maneuver out of it.
When have I maneuvered at all.
I stand by my words.... you have not asked me to explain anything.
Maybe if you asked me questions about my statements instead of changing them and throwing them back at me we could move one.

For a person who professes to be 70 years in age you argue in a childlike fashion.

This is very divisive action.
You are chopping the body of Christ to pieces for your own reasons.
How about trying to understand the other point of view?

The Bible is clear on how to receive God's free gift of Eternal Life. But about the only agreement is, is that most of christianity does not agree on how to receive Eternal Life.
Don't know why. He's very clear about it.

Matthew 12:50 For whoever does the will of My Father in heaven is My brother and sister and mother.”

Matthew 7:21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.

Matthew 25:31 “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. 32 All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.

34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

Matthew 22:36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”

37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’[c] 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[d] 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

Nothing about the age of the Earth or evolution.

And I see that in this defense of your post you leave out the accusation you made one sentence earlier.

You do not see how you are being dismissive of the other side of the argument?

What is your proof texts that God does not care if you believe His words or not?
Jesus makes it clear what will save you. And it's not how old you think the Earth is.

See above. He tells you again and again. Why don't you just believe Him?

Why don't you?
The Word created the Earth and His story is recorded in the Bible.
I don't question that the age of the Earth is not needed for salvation, but the age of the Earth is a salvational issue.
You don't understand, but that is common for people that don't ask questions.

Have I decreed any favorite beliefs of mine as requirements for salvation?
Do the words ...
"Oh, I'm sure it's really important to cull out misbelievers like myself. A little leaven leavens the whole lump, right? First it's not believing that God took precisely 518400 seconds to create the universe, and the next thing you know they'll be saying that Jesus was an Alien. Gotta nip it in the bud."

Noted.

What precisely did I change?
For a person who professes to be 70 years in age you argue in a childlike fashion.
The ad hom isn't really much of a surprise. Doesn't help your position any, either.
This is very divisive action.
You are chopping the body of Christ to pieces for your own reasons.
Really? Hmmm... you say that accepting your beliefs in the age of the earth "is salvational". I have made no such claim for any of my beliefs. Ii think your beliefs on the subject are wrong, but I have no reason to think they're of life and death importance. Yet somehow my opinions (which ones having yet to be specified) have me " chopping the body of Christ to pieces ". Somehow I don't believe that to be true. I think that many Christians hold a number of beliefs that I consider goofy, ill-founded, without merit, unscriptural, and often just downright dumb. But unless they contradict the basic creeds of the Church, I don't have the temerity to declare them to be "salvational". Your mileage obviously varies.

How about trying to understand the other point of view?

In other words, the view of the majority of the world's Christians? I don't think thay're quite so fond of chiucking around veiled anathemas as you appear to be.

Hey, we've alreadt determined that by your reasoning I'm one of the Bad Guys, right? Unwise vrgins? That sort of thing? Nothing divisive there, though. <Laugh>
Are you trying to understand me or mock me?
Oh, I think I'm reading you 5-9-9. As for mockery, I don't believe I've called your salvation into question as you have, at least implicitly, done mine. Yet I'm the divider, holding, as I do, the view of the age of the earth held by most of the world's professing Christians. Gaslight much?

Here's my view in shortest form: we're saved by the grace of God through the Blood of Christ. You start adding ojher requirements then you're wandering off the path.
Are you uniting or dividing?
Better ask yourself that question. Most of the people you're likely to run into in Heaven don't agree with you on age of the earth, and may have reason to have some fun at your expense when you do meet them. Just sayin'

Your language is not about bringing understanding.
You are mocking and confrontational.
Have I acted that way to you?
Oh, I think I'm reading you 5-9-9. As for mockery, I don't believe I've called your salvation into question as you have, at least implicitly, done mine. Yet I'm the divider, holding, as I do, the view of the age of the earth held by most of the world's professing Christians. Gaslight much?
I have not called your salvation into question either.
You have read that into what I have said without asking what I meant.
You are arguing something I have not ever said.
How about asking clarifying questions before attacking someone.

Never said young Earth is a requirement for salvation.

I have no problem being mocked in the afterlife.
Good thing we won't be in Heaven then.
I will be on the New Earth... with Jesus.

And the first step is believing that God created the uiniverse in six 86400 second days. Otherwise it's straight to perdition.

Perhaps you can show, where just one time i have stated that believing anything about creation is a condition to receive God's free gift of Eternal Life.

My position is crystal clear, on the condition God's requires to receive Eternal Life.

I don't question that the age of the Earth is not needed for salvation, but the age of the Earth is a salvational issue.

It absolutely does not. Whether the earth is 6,000 years old or almost 5 billion years old legitimately, and entirely, has no bearing on salvation.

Whether the universe came into existence 6,000 years; or whether the universe came into existence 14.5 billion years ago, and the earth at almost 5 billion years ago sin is still sin, death is still death, God is still God, grace is still grace, Christ is still Christ, the cross is still the cross, and salvation is still salvation.

That God's love and kindness toward His creation subject to death and a world full of sinners in need of His grace, sent His only-begotten Son to suffer and die, and be raised again, in order that you and I might be reconciled to God and have eternal life is not, in anyway, contingent or dependent on the age of the earth.

In fact I've never heard you say anything that sounded like that. Fair play, bruv, we can disagree like brethren on those points, and the one who's correct (if either!) get's full bragging rights when we meet up in person.

Not a single one of those verses mentions receiving Eternal Life, let alone how to.

If you need help here is one
that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.
