Sorry, that is contradicted by the huge number of Christians who have no problem with the findings of science. It's just a story creationists tell each other to feel better about themselves.
I am just following the logic.
You are the one trying to divide the body of Christ over this issue.

Not all of them; many creationists are no less Christian than the rest of us. A minority of them have made an idol of their new interpretations of scripture. They don't represent all creationists.

Unless they misrepresent something I actually said, it doesn't matter. And I thought I was being more firm with the edit.

It sounded more like you were covering your behind.

It does matter, but then again you don't see the compassion in the Young Earth argument and you place them in the position of your enemy.
That is the message I get from your posts.

I don't see how pointing out that most creationists are no less Christian than the rest of us, is "dividing the body of Christ." I would think that trying to make one's position on this issue into a salvation issue would be doing that. Fact is, God doesn't care about what you think of the age of the Earth, or how He makes species. That won't be the way He divides the sheep from the goats.

Check Matthew 25 for details.

I don't see how saying that being a creationist does not mean one is not a Christian, would be making them into the enemy. Could you explain that?

So yes, at the root, the age of the Earth is salvational.
That assertion is surely is far more certain to divide the Body of Christ than to accept that the issue is not a salvation issue at all.

And I see that in this defense of your post you leave out the accusation you made one sentence earlier.

You do not see how you are being dismissive of the other side of the argument?

What is your proof texts that God does not care if you believe His words or not?

It would appear that the bulk of Matt 25 is that we are to be held accountable for what we know/do/have been given.
So you have been given the creation account in Genesis 1 and you have discarded it.
Replacing the words of God with your "better" understanding because you have higher knowledge.
Matt 25 would say that you will be held accountable for why you reinterpret God's words to diminish His power and ability.

So my compassion to reach out to my fellow believers and to steady their faith in hard times is now considered divisive?

Why?

This is the key. If scripture was clear about these things, then all Christians would agree. Anyone who tells you that it is clear on the way God created living things, is asking you to believe him, not God.
-
The Bible is clear on how to receive God's free gift of Eternal Life. But about the only agreement is, is that most of christianity does not agree on how to receive Eternal Life.

Oh, I dunno, maybe just the "believe what I do as touching Creation or you aren't a Christian" rubbish seems a trifle "y'all all going to hell"ish, don't you reckon?

There are a good many Christians who have become such without any shred of knowledge of the Bible other than the Gospels. No OT at all. Should they be required to read the Old Testament and sign off on such OT based doctrines as some other believers require before they can properly be considered real Christians?

Oh, I'm sure it's really important to cull out misbelievers like myself. A little leaven leavens the whole lump, right? First it's not believing that God took precisely 518400 seconds to create the universe, and the next thing you know they'll be saying that Jesus was an Alien. Gotta nip it in the bud.

I never said anyone is not a real Christian.
All the virgins were invited to the feast... but only half were prepared for what was coming.
The wheat and the tares were both watered and tended by the farmer... only the wheat was valued.

The Bible is clear on how to receive God's free gift of Eternal Life.
And the first step is believing that God created the uiniverse in six 86400 second days. Otherwise it's straight to perdition.

I stand by what I said... and not the version you posted.
Please at least address the argument presented to you and not your own version of it.

Yes that is what I said... and I still stand by it.

Your words not mine.
But if you are referring to the foolish virgins... then I would say they represent the apostasy to come... and that would be a hell bound group.
