Trope ? Fantasy? There may be a minority that fit that, but there are a large number of Liberals who truly hate the man.
Again, it's a fantasy. Most liberals I see on social media just want him to face justice for his crimes and leave the public stage once and for all. The irony being if McConnell had mustered a few more votes for conviction in Insurrection II: Judgement Day, the Reps could have moved on and tried to return to a sense of normalcy. Instead they feared their own base and kowtowed to a guy who has helped them lose the popular vote for President twice, and have three losing or lackluster elections in a row.
Name me one politician who has the amount of venom Trump has had spewed against him, both before, during and after leaving the White House.
Barrack Obama. The man has been out of office for 7 years, yet this is from a week ago.
Pete Santilli, a right-wing radio host, advocated for the execution of former President Barack Obama if Trump is indicted

Name me one politician who has had as many attempts to bring him down as Trump.
I'm not aware of any politician who has been criminal either in volume or scale as Donald.
There is much emotion associated with Trump on all sides of the issues, you must live in an alternate universe.
That certainly is an assertion. However, I'll note this comment from an Special Grand Juror in the "just find me 11,780 votes, one more than we need" case.
Five of the special grand jurors investigating interference in Georgia’s 2020 elections spoke to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, including details of a previously unreported Trump call, this one asking then Speaker David Ralston asking him to convene a special session of the Legislature to...

Said another juror: “I tell my wife if every person in America knew every single word of information we knew, this country would not be divided as it is right now.”
That is from someone who actually heard the testimony and saw the evidence. You know, facts? Not emotion.
You speak of "his crimes" that is in itself is an emotional response they have been searching for crimes for 7 years. Give me a break. Our justice system is supposed to take a crime and search for the guilty party but so far with Trump is has been we've got the man now let's find a crime.
Ah yes, the old saw about a good prosecutor could indict a ham sandwich. The problem with platitudes is Donald's crimes weren't committed solo, in the dark of night. He did them while in the presence of others, with the help of others and while coordinating with others. It is from those people - Michael Cohen, Mark Meadows, Fiona Hill, Steve Bannon, Lindsay Graham, Christina Bobb, Cassidy Hutchinson, et. al. - as well as the evidence of his crimes that are leading grand juries and DAs to pursue the unprecedented course of pursuing and indictment against a former president.
Mueller found 10 indictable cases of obstruction.
Fani Willis literally has him on tape engaging in election fraud.
The fake electors scheme is blatant election fraud.
He has a long history of witness tampering
He demanded the warrant and affidavit for the document search at his hotel be released and we all saw exactly how extensive his document theft was.
January 6 was a large but disorganized conspiracy to overturn the will of the people and install Donald as dictator.
And one moving violation*
* I hope someone gets this joke.
List in post #128, just an overview of the shape we are in .
Ah yes, the talk radio laundry list. I'll address it below.
Tell us what real estate did China rent from Hunter Biden. Can we at least compare apples to apples here.
Irrelevant. The fact is that people who WEREN'T Joe Biden were involved in business with a foreign company and less than $1 mil was transferred to them. Red hats are claiming that is the death of the Republic. Meanwhile Saudi Arabia rents out whole floors of Donald's D.C. hotel the CCP pays HIM $5.4 mil (when he's not supposed to be receiving anything {see emoluments}) and it's "whatabout Hunter!"
Banking crisis, runaway inflation, brink of world war, using law enforcement against political opponents, incarcerating people without due process (Jan 6) accusing concerned parent of being terrorists. How many more would you like?
- There is no banking crisis. Two regional investment banks that were heavily leveraged in crypto found out that crypto is a scam.
- Inflation is nowhere near "runaway". I lived through the 70s and early 80s. Even then things were not even close to Weimar or Zimbabwe level inflation.

- We're not even close to world war. The cooler heads at the Kremlin are watching what's happening to the Russian military and realizing that NATO would be in Moscow within a month.
- No law enforcement is being "used against political opponents" other than Donald doing so.
Analysis: The president is wielding power in ways not seen in the United States in generations — if ever.

- Most of those arrested for non-violent and property crimes in association with J6 haven' even had to spend a night in jail. Several people here in North Texas only had to return to D.C. for their hearing and were given probation and a fine. Those being held are violent offenders and flight risks who are facing serious prison terms - worth noting, they're earning time while being held. Jacob Chansley's 41 months are going to be around 1 1/2 years because of good behavior and time served.
- The parents that were accused of being terrorists were engaged in terrorism. That notion that they merely "expressed an opinion" is another red hat trope based on a fantasy.
