And, these capitol police were so certain that Pence was in such grave danger that they let these "want to be murderers" walk around the capitol and take selfies? After shooting an unarmed female?
You're blending a bunching of things that took place that afternoon, but with no obvious causality between them.
I reviewed some materials, but I could not put a time on the threats to Pence from the crowd. As such there is no reason to think that
1. The cops inside the Capitol knew about the chants at any time during the invasion.
2. The crowd at the Speaker's Lobby were part of the chanting crowd.
Ashli Babbitt was shot at 2:44. Pence had already been evacuated from the Capitol building by then.
The "Chansley wandering around" video is all from 2:50-3:00 and from other video (body cam) it is clear that the rioters in the Senate wing (2nd & 3rd floors) were relatively few in number and not causing any current damage. (And all officials had been removed.) They were also gearing up to clear the Senate chamber itself where a few dozen invaders were located. (They did so at about 3:09.)
You could go to any large event with large amounts of people.. there will be, at anytime, a very small percentage of the crowd that has any number of radical thoughts.... That does not warrant labeling the entire crowd with those same views.
There were several selections that already took place:
Not all Trump voters or supporters thought the election was "stolen".
Only a fairly small fraction of those showed up in DC on Jan 5/6.
Many of the attendees at the Ellipse rally did not even go toward the Capitol.
The fraction of those who went to the Capitol complex and knowingly entered restricted grounds is small.
Those that breached barriers and entered the Capitol are but a fraction of those.
Most of the most severe actions in and about the Capitol involve the same group of a few hundred individuals that were at the Capitol grounds before the breach and while Trump was still speaking. They have been tracked, identified, and in many cases arrested and convicted.
No one, let me repeat -- NO ONE, is claiming that the whole crowd at the Trump rally were violent radicals, BUT, those who got to the Capitol early were quite concentrated in that sort of radicalism and violence.
Not to mention that, with the amount of exposed corruption in regards to this event... it's pretty obvious that you could have far left radical people who are wearing Trump supporter clothing... who were purposefully and cognitively presenting themselves as violent DT supporters.
That is not true.
It is also quite obvious, when one looks at the events of the last three years... that the right leaning people are not near as violent and brazen vandals as the left.
This not a competition. (And the thread is specifically about a presentation on a particularly TV show about the Jan 6 Capitol invasion.)
