Fact-checkers I see provide links to data. When someone suggests that people shouldn't listen to fact-checkers, I'm immediately suspicious.

Thats what I could never understand about politics. We have two opposing sides vying to get in power. So of course each side is going to make out that the other side is wrong. Even if they are right.

But it wasn't as bad as it is now and there were many things where each side met in the middle. Now it seems the stakes are higher that people are willing to make up stuff and lie to win. But I also thing that reflects a wider attitude in society where truth and facts have been undermined.
