Why did McCarthy Give Tucker Carlson Exclusive Access to J6 Footage?

All those years I was in law enforcement and I never knew I could kill someone because I suspected they had a concealed weapon. If only I had known. Probably better that I didn’t or I might have shot the man who turned out to be pointing a bar of soap at me. It’s amazing how people who never give police the benefit of the doubt are going all in to stand up for the police officer in this case.

If you had your weapon pointed at somebody, told them not to move and they charged you or reached for their armpit or waistband, what would you have done?

And I can't speak for others, but I can tell you why I think this case was a good shoot. First off it, we got to see what happened and there is no question about the series of events. She forcibly entered into a restricted area and there were high value targets that the officer was responsible for protecting in the room. Second, the officer in question was investigated immediately, and not by members of his own agency. It was still cops investigating him, but I felt a bit more comfortable knowing his buddies on the force weren't investigating it.

The officers who beat Rodney King were cleared by a jury. Did you have as much confidence in their conclusions since it wasn’t their department investigating them? You might be surprised by what a 110-pound woman can do when her adrenaline is racing through her veins.

I had warned a partner about the 85-year-old woman that we were transporting and not to underestimate her strength. She had Alzheimer's and did not pull her punches. I had to have him stop because I needed to restrain her to the stretcher so that she would stop trying to get out of the ambulance. He came back to help me and I warned him again, she punched him in the face and the ribs. She knocked him to his backside. He came out of that with a busted nose, a black eye, and a new respect for little old ladies.

I say all this to say never underestimate anyone.

Isn’t it amazing how the people that usually second guess everything the police do are in full support of the police in this case and can’t fathom that this particular officer could have been wrong. The police are brave heroes in this case but are demonized routinely by the same people for doing their jobs.

There are plenty of people defending the officer who shot Babbitt who have.

I misread "stopped" with a "pp" as "mp". Sue me. It doesn't change any thing that proceeded, or would you claim that a few cops could STOP a couple dozen charging violent rioters. (They had just smashed out the windows in 2-3 doors moments before, don't bother claiming they weren't violent.)

The tactical team could, in fact they did but they may have been aided by the fact someone had just been shot.

I didn’t see anything about Babbitt in his coverage of the released footage. I don’t watch all of his programs though.

About the usage of footage in the program...

Only one clip was "sensitive" and reviewed and approved from the surveillance cameras.

not to get off topic, but bringing up about how they just smashed out the windows in those doors invites the actions of several other officers to be questioned. They were on the inside of those doors just before the doors got smashed out and had just walked away, allowing it to happen.
