If you had your weapon pointed at somebody, told them not to move and they charged you or reached for their armpit or waistband, what would you have done? All those years I was in law enforcement and I never knew I could kill someone because I suspected they had a concealed weapon. If only I had known. Probably better that I didn’t or I might have shot the man who turned out to be pointing a bar of soap at me. It’s amazing how people who never give police the benefit of the doubt are going all in to stand up for the police officer in this case.
And I can't speak for others, but I can tell you why I think this case was a good shoot. First off it, we got to see what happened and there is no question about the series of events. She forcibly entered into a restricted area and there were high value targets that the officer was responsible for protecting in the room. Second, the officer in question was investigated immediately, and not by members of his own agency. It was still cops investigating him, but I felt a bit more comfortable knowing his buddies on the force weren't investigating it.
