Well
Isaiah 65 shows images of the New Earth of people planting fields and harvesting crops, it's not that labor is going away,

Isaiah 65
What you just stated makes me think maybe there will be no more meat on the menu. However, If I'm not mistaken, God preferred Able's sacrifice of sheep over Cain's sacrifice of vegetables. So I wonder which farming method God prefers, ranching or crop raising? Still, I have a picture in my mind of heaven as a place where Earthly endeavors are no longer needed like eating, sleeping, and procreating.

^_^^_^^_^ I guess I just thought where there is meat there is poop. Human or animal, so I wonder what our resurected bodies will consist of? Like will we be able to touch each other or have sex. It would seem there would be no more need for sex after the masses are judged and sent to either heaven or hell. Sometimes it makes me feel like when we die we are just dead, lifeless but the Bible doesn't say that (according to mainstream interpretations of the day of judgement).
In Isaiah 65:17-21, Isaiah testifies that in the new heavens and earth there will be:

Birth
Ageing
Death
Sinners
Generational Procreation
Vocations/Labor/Work
The need for shelter
The need to eat food

I for one, am in no position to claim I know more about this than Isaiah did, so I am inclined to believe his testimony.

And I was not aware of this testimony so I'm inclined to agree with you. I am admittedly not a Bible scholar. However, I have heard that the early Jews didn't believe in an afterlife but in Sheol, a place of rest. I am not contradicting what you are saying I just am a little confused, not having a large background in scriptural knowledge. In my limited knowledge of the Bible, I have understood that there were two notions of the afterlife, one following the Sadducees, and one of the Pharisees where one faction believed in the conscious afterlife and one believed in death to be an eternal sleep. Which are we to believe? I am open to your input on this question as you seem to be knowledgeable on scripture. I'm not trying to debate you but glean some knowledge on the subject.

Yeah the last verse can be interpreted to say that. I am less sure about that, admittedly due to my bias and preference of food.

Yeah, it seems like not the best version of paradise without a thick juicy steak (medium well for me), or a nice roasted chicken with rice and gravy.

What Jesus did on the cross in part, was reclaim our Dominion. That is why Jesus had to be made flesh and live as a man. So that He could do what was right in God's eyes, to restore His plan for creation and His plan for man, including their purpose.
This is excellent Bible study work! Thank you!

So we'll be vegetarian as before Adam and Eve were thrown out of the Garden of Eden. I guess that will be okay. I'm sure God will make all the vegetarian dishes taste delicious even to future ex-carnivores like me.

Another thing that makes me wonder is that God will make a new heaven and earth, but I'm wondering if we're going to remain confined to earth. I know God hasn't said anything about being able to explore the new heaven?

Well, I trust God nevertheless. Exciting to consider what is beyond this age!

We'll be like the angels, so no marriage or sex. If you have a spouse in this age, I think you can still be besties with them! In terms of poop, there might still be - we could use that for fertilizer since we're still able to farm for food and drink.

A pastor that I listen to jokes about "ribeye trees"..
Like, I don't know what for sure about it, I think there's ways to get "meat" without killing as right now they're talking about lab grown meat which is animal tissue but no animal organism was killed.
It's a hypothetical since the bible doesn't really talk about cellular biology but I think cellular "death" may still be a thing but not organism death, at least not for humans. cellular "death" is kind of necessary for us to grow. Without it, we wouldn't have new growth, or new life, and God wanted new life and life reproducing and growth before the fall. Is it really going to be shut off and everything static and sterile in the next age? Unfortunately.. again.. the bible's not a cellular and molecular biology journal so it's just not addressed. Ezekiel's last chapters do discuss something similar to Revelation 21 and 22 and they're catching fish there... so.. it's something that's a mystery to us for the time being.

Another thing that makes me wonder is that God will make a new heaven and earth, but I'm wondering if we're going to remain confined to earth. I know God hasn't said anything about being able to explore the new heaven?

It's something to speculate on, it's nothing the bible addresses, I would like to think that we'd spread through the stars and we've been limited to this planet so far pretty much because of our fallen state. I do love the idea of space travel and seeing other planets. It's one of those deeply held yearnings I have. so I hope God can accommodate that.

When I was in nursing school, we had to take a microbiology class. We were studying up on cancer cells and I read that one of the research specimens that they have is some cancerous tissue cells from some cancer patient from the 1960s or 1970s, which is STILL being used for research TO THIS DAY. Her cancerous tissue cells are so active and continue to proliferate, so whenever they need a tissue sample to test their treatments, they would just grow this tissue.

I've also heard about meat being "grown" but I wouldn't want to eat that meat because I keep thinking about that lady's tissue specimen, lol!

Something else that I'm looking forward to is the millennial reign of our Lord! Imagine living in a world that's safer and having less sin in the world (until the rebellion at the end of it which would be over and done with pretty quickly). I definitely want to explore all over this planet in that age and just enjoy what He made. I'm also glad that He will keep the nations in place. I want to be able to learn of each nation's culture, their food, their ways (that don't contradict our Lord's ways), clothing, music, etc.

Being immortal would be great too. I've always wanted to scuba dive all over the oceans, even down to their depths. It is said that 95% of the oceans have not been explored or studied and it's because of our mortal bodies and dangerous animals in this age. But in the millennium it would definitely be possible to do so. Maybe I can be a marine biologist in that age!

In regard to our Lord reigning with a rod of iron, I've read of some people getting apprehensive about that, but I honestly think that the Lord will be fair. I just don't think He will let sneaky tactics, like what the globalists are doing now, to get very far. He would put a stop to it right away, hence the rod of iron. I think the only thing He would let happen is the rebellion at the end of that.

That's why they were Sad, you see? :tearsofjoy:

There you go! I'm sure there would be the most sanitary conditions for utilizing waste for our heavenly crops. Also, I don't recall the Bible saying that we will not be required to work up there. Growing up, I thought we would just relax on a cloud as an ethereal creature and strum a harp. This discussion is making me see heaven as a more tangible place like it says in the Bible "a new earth" one without blemish or shame. SO I guess we will still need insects but maybe not the disease-carrying ones. OR we'll have the strength to deal with it.

I guess that's a little bit of an appetitue ruiner yeah lol
but yeah, cells growing unchecked without going through their normal cycle.... that's cancer.

So if we have no death but we have growth then... well, all life is cancer then, unless we're allowed to colonize other planets and spread, I mean it's God and we have a universe that's billions and billions of lightyears across in expanse and that's just what we can observe, it's unknown just how big it is

But I still think there will be some sort of cell death, or.. I guess.. God doesn't resurrect bacteria? I don't know.

One of the things I have concern over is Revelation 21:1, it says there is no more sea.
I'm handicapped right now I can't scuba dive but I've wanted to for a long time. and if the new earth doesn't have oceans... it means I just miss out I guess.

From my nursing school days, healthy cells know when to stop growing or multiplying - so I would trust anything God makes, but anything artificially made or man-made makes me nervous, especially when derived from anything unstable! If God continues to make bacteria, there's already "good" bacteria that is beneficial and when this age is over, I think none of them will be dangerous anymore, just like with animals and plants that used to be harmful.

I'm not sure what types of life will carry over but I'm just happy that we'll be given so much time to learn about the things God has or will make. Really, the thought of all this is what helps me to look beyond the coming last days.

I was talking about the millennial age. The seas will still be there so we can still explore those bodies of water for 1,000 years. I mean, if God lets us and gives us the means to explore them. I've really been curious about the depths of the seas. I would watch videos of the occasional deep water exploration. I find it utterly fascinating, but at the same time SO FRIGHTENING because the light doesn't reach down to those depths. What I've seen so far are that the marine life look SO DIFFERENT from the sea life in shallower waters.

If you ever want to have some idea of underwater sea exploration, there is a video game called Subnautica where you as the main character gets stranded on a water planet because your space ship with everyone on it gets mysteriously blasted out of the sky. It's survival game where you explore under the sea for crafting parts, food, water-purifying ingredients, etc. and find a way off the planet. It is realistic in a lot of ways and I love it so much!

Anyway, I also want to explore so many other things the Lord has made during His millennial reign before God replaces them with the new heaven and earth: the mountains, the deserts, the tropical jungles (that's another biome that hasn't been fully explored yet) and also even the north and south poles!

Being immortal would really help out in those cases! I also think that we'd still have a way to communicate with God just in case we're stuck somewhere and that He will help us out those situations too.

Being with God forever is going to be great! There's just so many things I want ask God about - like dinosaurs and about historic people of interest and mysteries. I don't think we'll ever get bored living with Him and for Him!

Oh I'm not talking about pathogens being the issue I'm talking about if bacteria continue to reproduce but cannot die, even good bacteria, they will basically overrun a planet.

Yeah that is one of the reasons I still play video games in my 40's is because it lets me do things like explore when my own body is broken and cannot do those things. I play a lot of No Man's Sky for similar reasons as you're talking about Subnautica, it's just space exploration instead of underwater. Something about just... getting in a spaceship, looking at a moon in the sky and knowing "I can fly there if I want and see it" just gets me.

It'd be disappointing to learn we're stuck on one planet for all eternity so.. I hope not.

I think we will be free of self-destroying cells as we will have heavenly bodies, free from harmful cell reproduction. We will be "purified." Now will we still need bacteria to work on our fertilizer is another question. As we should be filled with all of the white blood cells needed to kill any disease, they should not affect us.

I think there are different philosophies about what heaven will be. Some say it is a new Earth, free from disease and some see the afterlife as an ethereal experience where we no longer have corporal bodies but spiritual ones with no need for eat, drink, or sex. I am actually a bit confused about the forecast for the afterlife to come. Sometimes I think when we die we are just dead and gone with our deeds being the only thing to give us an afterlife.

well the bible says new earth, so that's what I go with.
