I don't know if the poster I was responding to celebrated other monuments being destroyed.
That's why I said "certain people".

How much did it cost? The monument cost money to build, so you're actually wrong there.
40 to 60 dollars per pound for basic granite slabs, but these were solid columns, which cost much more. How much did it cost?
I'd rather focus on the logic behind the celebration of this monuments destruction... And the blowing-off of it by some.
Take the messages on the stones themselves to realize what they were meant to convey. The NWO-type of rhetoric is celebrated by some, and those would be the ones who would be sad to see them go. https://egaonline.com/sites/default/files/The Georgia Guidestones.pdf

...Add construction costs, labor, permits, inscriptions, planning, etc.
So how much did it cost?
I'm sad to see them go. I think it's a shame.
...Does that place me in a certain box?
I'm sad that someone decided to go ahead and demolish what was left of them without doing a thorough investigation to find out what explosive was used, if any. How can they point the finger of blame at any person/group without investigating first? Why the rush to eliminate any real evidence?
Well it would be nice to know the value of it's construction so as to determine the amount of technical 'value' that was lost. Since that's primarily what you're concerned about.I don't know exactly. Why does it matter?
I don't really care for a monument that calls for the culling of a majority of humanity.
Oh, I don't either. I disagree with pretty much everything it stands for, but I still want it reconstructed.
Life would be boring if everyone and everything was 'just like me'.
Probably the only grievers are the business owners of Elberton who benefit from the tourists and the free ad for the local granite masons.

Why spend so much money on something so expensive just to display some controversial messages? Why not post them on a bulletin board, or a website? It would take far, FAR less resources, and therefore be better for the planet.
Now the granite masons can put up an actual ad using their own product. They could even put the names of their businesses on it.
