The Bible doesn`t use the word accept.

It does use the word “receive” in context to Jesus which is mentioned in John 1:12.
Receive is the same thing as accept.

In order to keep this somewhat orderly, you'll need to reply to my post if you have something to say about it, instead of sending me to another post that contains who knows what.
That post is in the same thread and thoroughly explains something you missed in regards to shallow, temporary belief that has no root, produces no fruit and withers away in the parable of the sower.

I'm sorry receive is not accept in any reliable translation. You are changing Gods word to suit your doctrine.

2983- strongs
lambanó: to take, receive
Original Word: λαμβάνω
Part of Speech: Verb
Transliteration: lambanó
Phonetic Spelling: (lam-ban'-o)
Definition: to take, receive
Usage: (a) I receive, get, (b) I take, lay hold of.

What school did you go to? Everyone knows that receive is the same thing as accept.

Receive
1913 Webster's Dictionary:

Pronunciation: rė`sēv´
v. t. 1. To take, as something that is offered, given, committed, sent, paid, or the like; to accept; as, to receive money offered in payment of a debt; to receive a gift, a message, or a letter.

Maybe you should actually read this post with understanding.

Genuine faith /belief is one that endures until the end. The Holy Spirit does not allow one to be tempted beyond what they are able to bear but provides a way of escape so that they can ENDURE. See 1 Corinthians 10:13 below:

1 Corinthians 10:13
No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

Luke 8
1 “Now the parable is this: the seed is the word of God. 12 Those beside the road are those who have heard; then the devil comes and takes away the word from their heart, so that they will not believe and be saved. 13 Those on the rocky soil are those who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no firm root; they believe for a while, and in time of temptation fall away. 14 The seed which fell among the thorns, these are the ones who have heard, and as they go on their way they are choked with worries and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to maturity. 15 But the seed in the good soil, these are the ones who have heard the word in an honest and good heart, and hold it fast, and bear fruit with perseverance.

Genuine faith endures until the end and doesn't fall away as in the good soil which produces fruit and perseveres.

hope this helps !!!

You aren't able to stick with the debate without changing scripture, so now you just throw random verses at it, scripture that may mean what you choose for it to mean, but to some of us, we just dont see what you do.

There is no more sense in my trying to debate you.

Then explain it right here.

But I get it, shallow, temporary, or whatever, belief is belief, and they fell away from it, which is the whole point.

Actually for anyone who falls away, their belief was temporary, even if it took years. Seems you all are hoping we will get lost in your point, while your point changes nothing.

But it still is a belief. Luke 8:13 makes that clear. They believe for a while and fall away. This shows a person who believes can fall away (Which means OSAS is not true).

I'm sorry I do not use unbiblical secular(worldly) sources to understand biblical words and their meaning and neither should you. I use the Greek Lexicons.

Yet it impossible to debate it with you when you change scripture to fit you needs.
I can use scripture from both testaments to refute you and from any one of the 66 inspired books. Pick your poison kenny. And I stay on topic.

1 Corinthians 10:13
No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

So much for your false teaching on belief in the passage being a saving faith which its not as both Jesus in the parable and Paul in 1 Corinthians 10:13 makes clear.

It should be the opposite. Why? Because religious dictionaries have a bias towards their own personal religious beliefs. Secular dictionaries are using words that everyone knows in order to function normally in the world and to communicate (and they do not always have a religious bias or agenda). If words in a secular dictionary could not be trusted, then chaos would result world wide and it would be like the tower of babel all over again in English speaking countries. Schools could no longer properly teach English anymore. What you propose is insane.

rationalize it all you want I will stick with Hebrew and Greek lexicons which give the original meaning of the words in biblical times and customs not modern secular times.

ad hominem duly noted.

My apologies. I will remove the post. But you have to take a step back a moment and realize that rejecting regular dictionaries is not normal, my friend. What is the cause for really doing so? Is it because you don't want a particular belief to be true? Are you willing to go to such lengths as ignoring regular dictionaries to make your belief work? I sure hope not.

A regular dictionary is not your enemy.

Read the following an answer one simple question...in later times will some fall away from their faith in God?

Timothy 4:1 "But the Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons"

I’ve been listening to David pawson only this week! That’s so freaky. :)
He gets around :). He was a very early influence on me, being one of the speakers at the event where I became a Christian, but I didn't get to speak to him personally until about 12 years ago... where I gushed with enthusiasm.

So you are not interested in reading my thorough explanation, in which I backed up my argument with scripture? I guess the word “believe” to you must always mean “believes unto salvation,” even in James 2:19? Same Greek word - “Pisteuo.” I demonstrated otherwise in post #69.
