Yeah but you see, there's a magic atmospheric dome effect that makes that happen, and don't ask us to explain it, because it just does, also here's a link to an hour+ youtube video showing a bunch of blurry photographs that totally prove you can see farther past the horizon than you should be able to.

Yeah, that's what amounts to 'scientific proof' of flat earthers alright! I have a friend who believes the earth to be flat and claims to have 'scientific proof' of it. He publishes his papers online and in one he claims, at the time I write this (he is liable to change it without apology as he has in another of his papers), the island I photographed is the Isle of Man at a distance of 85 miles! However, when I tackled him on this he now admits that it is Lambay Island, but there has been no apology or explanation for his obviously false 'proof'! The reason I took these photos initially was to prove his claim wrong. Now he won't discuss it any further with me despite me inviting him to debate the flat earth!

Such is the mind of the flat earth believer!

Well, in science, you are required to defend your claims. Honest people would want to find out about the mistakes they made, as would curious people.

Deflect as much as you want... but if all you can present is a bunch of nonsense, claim that it is "detailed proof" and then run away when challenged... you aren't showing yourself to be scientific, honest or curious.

Didn't you read his OP? Anyone who posts anti - flat earth videos is just trolling and needs to get out. But the pro-flat earth videos can't be questioned, and have to be taken as 100% Gospel truth.

If you think Paul was wrong, then study Daniel. Satan was involved with the Greeks being able to become the 3rd kingdom. Great, who claimed the earth was round? Who promised the Greeks he would give them knowledge and power? It was not God. This was the point in time western thought left Genesis behind. Ironically western thought evolved away from God’s Word and entered Satan's virtual reality. Step by step, precept by precept. Each mutation worse than the previous idea. Now we have a 14 billion year old universe, the theory of evolution (not the true evolution in nature), and a ball in the middle of a solar system. All credit goes to Satan, himself. Now some even are deceived spiritually as well. A double whammy from the same angel who offered Eve that wonderful wisdom of evil.

Yes, perhaps a flat earth is just a joke to many. Remember how the Jesuits sowed false propaganda against theology? If the flat earth never gets a serious traction like Revelation 20 did, then Satan won that round. Of course, no one wants to spend billions of dollars to prove Satan's deception. What is the point?

Living on a flat earth would only ruin the politics of environmental climate change. But why divert money to feed those under the poverty level, if rich people can get all to argue over nonsense. Who cares about the poor? If we blame humans, it is better than pointing out nature is God's fault. If we cannot blame "acts of God" on the sun, we would have to acknowledge God is not dead.

So we leave the task to fringe nut jobs, and even athiest get in on the fun of promoting a conspiracy. I doubt the governments of the world are even aware of any cover up. Most scientists are hardly aware of any cover up. Science handles anomalies all the time. They are chalked up to materialistic nature, and falsified as not enough admissible evidence to be concerned over. I mean Satan started 2500 years ago. Who today is going to blame the Greeks for conspiracy against humanity?

Real undeniable evidence is not Satan's deception. The Bible really says nothing definitively about the earth's shape. What I find in Scripture is God's account of who He is and man's rejection of Him, His provision of a Saviour in His Son Jesus and how man can be restored to Him (using the term 'man' to mean mean all of humanity).

If people want to try to use Scripture to define the earth's shape whether that be spherical or flat (or curved), then they are taking it out of its context. God's focus is on His Love and Salvation, not the shape of His created earth. Satan's deception is to try to distract even the elect into using Scripture in a such a way as to push people away from God and not toward Him.

Since the Bible essentially says nothing definitively about the earth's shape, then it is down to evidence which can be discerned by science to do it. I see no contradiction between science's conclusions and the Bible in this respect. Evolution is a different ball game.

I see evidence almost everyday that the earth is spherical. The pictures I displayed in post #39 are a simple example of this evidence. The difference between how much of the island's profile I can see is very much dependent on the elevation and distance from where I view it. On a flat earth this would not happen with any consistency. The evidence can be seen whenever the weather permits the island to be seen. Flat earth believers can try to claim 'angular perspective' or such but that does not even begin to explain it.

Once again, if Satan has the resources to maintain a perfect worldwide conspiracy for 2.5 millennia, and his goal is to discredit Christianity, then why didn't he ever think of doing the following:

- Forge Roman records showing where Jesus was buried
- Create a fake tomb with a fake body
- Have archaeologists 'discover' the body, thus proving that the Resurrection never happened

This would be a lot easier to do than the ridiculously impossible flat earth conspiracy, and it would be a lot more effective if the aim is to lead souls away from Christ.

Will someone at the Prime Meridian and the International Date Line be able to see the Redeemer in a globe earth at the same time? How (I'm curious)?

It would not be possible on a flat earth. Good grief, if you are unable to see the sun for 12 out of 24 hours in a flat earth model, how do you expect everyone to be able to see Christ?
Obviously, the manner in which we will all see Christ coming will not be in the physical mode in which we are accustomed to seeing things.

Yes everyone will see the Lord when He returns. It is His creation and He can do anything with it He desires. This will be a miraculous event not limited to scientific possibilities. If you limit your perception to science only in regard to miracles, then science will dismiss the miracle. The earth needs to be flat for everyone to see Him within the confines of science but beyond science it doesn't. His return alone defies science so why not all people on a spherical earth seeing Him when he does? Christian flat earth believers tend to try to mix their version of science with God's Word and ignore true scienctific evidence and what God's Word is really saying.
