  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Did we miss our turn somewhere?

If Christ's return is imminent, then Satan is loosed according to Revelation 20. We can question the truthfulness of today's popular gospel. But we can be assured that the true gospel will be preached until the last day.

Only to a millenialists.

But you have become inconsistent. YOu said the gospel has bound Satan. So if the true gospel is still being preaxhed- he must still be bound according to your hypothesis.

And if Satan is loosed according to your hypothesis - then the new covenant era has ended! So what era are we in now according to your hypothesis?

???
What do you mean by "Satan is loosed" ?
Hasn't ol' slewfoot been causing a great deal of destruction, having come to kill, to steal and to destroy, all along ?

p.s. Yes, Christ's Return for His people is eagerly watched for by His people.

You either believe the true gospel....what we are talking about. Or a false gospel, popular today now that Satan is loosed.

there have been false gospels since Pentecost! Today is no different than any other time in church history, unl;ess you want to look at church history disepensationally!

So how do you explain all teh deception and false gospels through out the two millenia of the church age since Satan was sup[posedly bound according to your hypothesis.

In Revelation, he is bound only from deceiving the nations. = the gospel preached to the whole world. But he is now loosed and the world is attacking the Church.

Without reference to Revelation, and without contradicting any Scripture or Revelation,

hasatan is not bound today, and obviously has not been bound the last 2000 years.

If you look for a huge church in history you won't find it based on scripture. It was always a remnant under persecution.

So ? This reply does not say hasatan was bound; rather seems to agree that hasatan was not bound.
I don't know why you referenced "a huge church" .....

Challenge; In Revelation 20, what does it say about Satan's binding? To what extent was he bound?

I don't accept the challenge.
For here and now, I think I stated "WITHOUT REFERENCE TO REVELATION" ....
But, Revelation mentions Satan's binding. And if you get this wrong, you add to Revelation or take away from it. Serious problem.

Rev 20 covers the New Covenant era and beyond. Jesus refuted the Pharisees millennial kingdom throughout the gospels showing the Kingdom is spiritual.

Are you saying the rapture happened and we've been left behind?

The Rapture happens on the last day after the resurrection. The Pre- Trib Rapture is a false doctrine originating in the 1800s.

Here's the true Rapture spelled out in scripture;

“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.” (1 Thessalonians 4:16–17)

“Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.” (1 Corinthians 15:51–53)

But it happens on the last day after the resurrection;

“Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.” (John 5:28–29)

“And this is the Father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.” (John 6:39)

“No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him, and I will raise him up on the last day.” John 6:44 (HCSB)

“so man lies down and does not rise; until the heavens are no more, they will not awake nor arise from their sleep.” (Job 14:12) (NET)

Thanks. Being left behind is my biggest fear....and lately there are signs that seemed to point this way.

Dave, the first three verses of Revelation 20 focus on Satan being bound with a chain and cast into the bottomless pit. It hasn't happen yet.

The Kingdom of God is not mentioned in those three verses, whether spiritual or the ruling government on the earth.

Satan's kingdom though of Babylon the Great will end during the second half of the seven years.

The reason Revelation 20:1-3 is still future is because in Ezekiel 28:16-19, it is written that God will expose Satan before the kings of the earth, that they will literally see him. Hasn't happen yet.

16 By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.

17 Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee.

18 Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee.

19 All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more.

But that is not the issue of Revelation 20:1-3.
