An oldie, but a goodie. I could play it today and still enjoy the heck out of it.

The Sims. The first time I played it was on the X-Box console. Night passed and morning arrived and I was still playing! I’ve played various iterations over the years and created the ultimate male, female, and child sims respectively.

Dungeons & Dragons: Heroes and Halo would be close seconds.

I love the Sims! While it didn't get on my list of favorite of all time, it's definitely up there! I rarely spent any time creating families with children and only played them when I was playing the pre-made sim families. When I created sims, I typically would create single sims. The children tended to stress me out so once my sims reached that point, I would play for a while and move on to another single sim, or maybe a house of two or three adult roommates, all of them strange or unique in some way.

In one game in Sims 2, I used Strangetown to start a secret military base who, among other research projects, was breeding alien sims. Most of the adults either wore some sort of alien garb or military fatigues. :)

It can drive a sane person bonkers! ~lol

But I figured out some neat tricks to lessen the stress. I’ve played the console and PC versions with expansions. My daughter is usually yelling at the screen. ~laughs

How neat! My favorite moments were putting mom to work. She’ll make gnomes and that added to the coffers. I created a super kid. I think it’s Sims 2 that provided a babysitter. But the kids can earn skills and they’re easier to max out.

I had an overachieving Sim who maxed out the business career in one week and she was missing a trait. In Sims 3 I put the kids to work as writers and loved creating a garden and vineyard.

I'd love to take the sims that Maxis made and see what I could do with them despite some of them having very serious flaws by sim perfection standards.

LOL the gnomes. I remember in one of the Sims games, I had a sim create a whole bunch of gnomes and put them all over the yard. It was rare for any time to pass without at least one sim passersby out in the yard kicking the pieces out of it and yelling!

I think their sweet spot was Sims 3. The expansions added elements but the base game was fun. The butler in Nightlife is nuts! There’s a version who gets drunk and collapses and another who won’t stop cooking. He buys the meals from the fridge. He’s hilarious.

LOL They probably annoyed them. My favorite element is the whifferpuffer. I have mad love for that thing!

Oh that butler! Yes, I have played the heck out of Sims 3 and expansions and decided on that butler once when I was trying to play one of those large pre-made Maxis families and ended up with food ALL OVER the house because he would put plates of food on EVERY surface and then go and make more! I ultimately had to fire him because the family wasn't very rich and he was cooking through all of their savings! :D

I hired a maid who sat and watched TV all day and never cooked. That family just had no luck at all!

I do have Sims 4 on the XB1, but haven't played it nearly as much as Sims 3.

Oh that butler!

LOL! He’s crazy. The first one I hired kept making drinks and playing a game. He’d make another and play some more until he collapsed from drunkenness on the floor and fell asleep. I had to wake him up to fire him. ~lol

How do you like Sims 4?

How do you like Sims 4?

Remember the peeing and laughing Santa Claus? :)

I like it but they took away the open neighborhoods so you have "blocks" of about 8 lots within a large neighborhood and if you want to go outside of the block, you have to go through a loading screen just like in Sims 1 and 2. The sim personalities really don't seem much improved from the the sims in Sims 3.

So when I'm in a sims mood, I play Sims 3 when on PC and Sims 4 when on the XB1. One advantage to playing Sims 4 on console to the earlier sims games is that Sims 4 on the newer consoles works exactly like they do on PC, at least in vanilla.

Mercy! I really wonder who comes up with some of the characters.

Many said it was a stripped down version of Sims 3. Do you agree? The console version sounds nice.

It is stripped down compared to Sims 3, but Sims 3 still has features that cannot be found in Sims 4. Sims 3 has the vast open world neighborhood that Sims 4 lacks, and also in Sims 4, the decorating tool is extremely lacking by comparison. In Sims 3, you could make your furniture, clothes, etc. into any imaginable color or pattern you chose. In Sims 4, it goes back to the Sims 2 way of just providing a limited amount of choices that are already pre-determined.

I do like the create-a-sim tool in Sims 4 a lot though. You can basically shape or mold the sim practically any way you choose.

I'd say Sims 4 is definitely worth getting if you are playing on console and you just want another sims game, and it goes on sale fairly frequently too.

Thanks for your feedback. We have all the expansion packs for the previous version and haven’t finished them. I didn’t get an Xbox One. I’ve debated it and decided otherwise.

You could probably pass on Sims 4 then and not really miss much of anything. Sometimes EA offers the base game for a big discount on PC, and sometimes they just give it away, probably with the hope that people will play it and then want to buy expansions. :)

I love a lot of games! My all-time favorite would have to be either Sonic Adventure 2 Battle for Gamecube or Super Smash Bros. Brawl for Wii; it's a tough choice! Out of most of the games I've played, both of those tend to keep me entertained the longest.

Well, I really liked the game Destiny 2. Very exciting and interesting game. The developers have tried their best that I'm even ready to support them and buy the Steam version when the game will release there. But this time I think I will turn to destiny 2 boosting service, so as not to waste time on the story that I have already passed.
