SAME.I know what you’re saying Tryphena Rose, it seems that the theme of magic in television and movies is more widespread. I still remember the old sitcom “Bewitched”, produced in the 1960’s. It’s been around for quite awhile, it just seems to be a bit more prevalent and sinister than even 10 years back. It seems that way to me.
I and my family have always stirred clear of this flavor of entertainment, and have also felt the conviction to do so.
I remember growing up, my stepdad believed that Harry Potter was against God. I did not understand that because HP never said anything bad about God. I didn't believe that. Then when he said because of witchcraft- I was like, but it's fake. It's still the concept and it took a while before I realized I didn't even like that kind of stuff. It was just the craze of the time. I watched 3 HP movies and then I was totally DONE. I never really thought much about the movies and even Disney because it was all fake. They are all basically fairy tales. Then I realized how much of this people took seriously. I always thought it was cool to watch movies/TV or (I used to write stuff. I had ideas about stories like Sabrina the Teenage Witch or people with super powers). I never ended up writing stuff like that. My preacher went on how HP was wrong but let his daughter watch Snow White. I really don't get that. I have found myself in the past 8 years that I do not feel comfortable watching occult type things. I stay away from it. It doesn't feel right.
I do watch movies with my husband such as the Avengers. I guess we discard the "super powers" we see in movies because it is fake. He will occasionally watch Harry Potter. I hate it so much, LOL. My nana won't watch it because she thinks it will release bad spirits into her home.
