I have posted similar threads I think before ..... But as an English white Christan I can't workout why Americans are against Putin ....for me Putin and trump are Christian allies .......I will defend putin to the death as he saved the Christians off Syria and the same goes for trump .....as Christians we should start looking at faith before nationality

Putin, the former head of the KGB, was personally responsible for gutting the doctrine of the Russian Orthodox Church, making it into a mouthpiece of the state. We should not be surprised that he aggressively defends that church against harassment, and against competition from Evangelicals et al, nor should we be surprised that he is a member of that congregation. If Trump is the sort of Christian that Putin is, then we're all in deep doo-doo.

I don't care if Putin was head of of KGB he iis now Christian ......hubris over faith will be the death of christisnity .......Putin has my backing I've even emailed him asking how the christiand I represent in the UK can back him .....ps every Christian I know cultural or otherwise is behind me when I ask them in the UK

And that excuses Putin for his evil how exactly? If I spend my life torturing and murdering innocent people, and then one day by my actions incidentally save someone, and after I go on torturing and murdering am I excused and held morally inculpable for all the torturing and murdering I've done and continue to do?

I just don't think it works that way.

As a Christian I cannot turn a blind eye to evil and glorify murderous dictators and fascists. I am held to the standard of Christ, and it can't be any other way for me.

Do these "Christians" also happen to be members or supporters of UKIP or the BNP?

Because, see, I take the word "Christian" seriously. It has to do with a poor brown-skinned foreigner who you can read about in this one book, well it's actually a collection of a lot of books, but still.

Not all Americans are against Vladimir Putin.

It is not Russia that is the threat today.

In ww2 they lost at least 27 million souls,

Hardly any family was left un affected,

Driving out Nazis, the last thing they would be intrested in is war.

With NATO on their doorstep,

it must remind them off Barbarossa.

But one thing for sure is,
the spirit of Russia, the Russian soul is resilient.

Now I have had my little rant.

It is not about divisions either,

It is about bringing the Messiah and with it the Messianic era.

You clearly don't know American history, I'm an American so let me clue you in. General Custer wasn't a good guy or a hero--he was a bad guy. Custer was a murderous thug. If you think Custer and his men were the good guys, you have it completely backward. You might as well watch Star Wars and cheer for Darth Vader to wipe out the Galaxy.

I'm not Christian, I don't care what Christians do--in the United States the evangelical right already has a ton of power as it is, they're in no danger. I'm certainly not supporting no dictator in Russia because its the "Christian" thing to do.

What does unite mean in this context? I'm pretty sure I already know I want to hear it in your own words.

I'll try to keep this civil, but I *do* feel that you've got to live in some bizarre alternate universe to describe either the murderous dictator from Russia or the callous billionaire con man from New York a "Christian ally".
What is this assessment based on? Their stance on LGBT*? It certainly cannot be their social policies, their racism (nope, not gonna use "white nationalism" as some watered down euphemism for what is clearly the same old brownshirt), as these so clearly clash with EVERYTHING the Bible has to say on these matters. And it also cannot be their personal conduct, which could hardly be less Christian if they made an active and deliberate effort to violate Christian values. As a business man, a private person AND a head of state, Trump has acted against pretty much everything Christianity teaches and stands for. But this is a thread about Putin, so let's go there.

Why are Americans against Putin? Probably for the same reasons as many Europeans:
he is a fascist "strong man" whose opponents more often than not get "randomly" murdered in the streets or die under mysterious circumstances. If the Russian government even tries to genuinely mask their involvement, that is.
Remember the former spy who was murdered with Polonium in the UK, roughly a decade ago?
His murderer has been identified by the investigation: a certain Andrey Lugovoy. Guess what happened with that guy?
He's holding a political office in Russia now, AND he was rewarded an Order of Merit by Putin in 2015.

This alone should suffice to make sure that every non-fascist rejects Putin as a murderous autocrat, but US-Americans have even more reason to do so, as the Russian meddling in the US presidential election is undisputed at this point.
