I don't recall them being called apostles. But these installed ministers through the laying on of hands as is common today. And Timotheous and Silvanus and possibly Titus.
1 Thessalonians 1 - 1. Paul, and Silvanus, and Timotheus, unto the church of the Thessalonians... 1 Thessalonians 2 - 6. Nor of men sought we glory, neither of you, nor yet of others, when we might have been burdensome, as the apostles of Christ.”I don't recall them being called apostles. Thanks! I'll add that to my notes.1 Thessalonians 1 - 1. Paul, and Silvanus, and Timotheus, unto the church of the Thessalonians... 1 Thessalonians 2 - 6. Nor of men sought we glory, neither of you, nor yet of others, when we might have been burdensome, as the apostles of Christ.”
You welcomeThanks! I'll add that to my notes.
Here is another one about Titus and other brethren who were apostlesThanks! I'll add that to my notes.
There are many gifts in place today. But tongues, prophecy and word of knowledge were like pieces of a jigsaw puzzle. When you rounded them all up and put them together, the full picture emerged. Scripture is the big picture, where the revelatory gifts were only pieces of it.
I used to be charismatic and that's what we called it. (talking shop)I'm curious why you interpret the word knowledge in 1 Cor. 13 as "word of knowledge."
I think we see the sign gifts and command miracles dwindling as the NT unfolds. We have the prayer of faith but no body is performing the level of miracles we saw in the gospels and Acts.
There's too much sickness in the epistles to justify the continuance of the gifts. What you're saying doesn't add up. The epistles were written for different purposes than the Gospels or the book of Acts, so, of course you wouldn't expect them to be saying the same things. And yet, Paul addressed the spiritual gifts more than any other New Testament writer in his letters to the churches.
What??? What a stretch that is!There's too much sickness in the epistles to justify the continuance of the gifts.
If the gifts were in operation, Timothy would not have been taking medicine for his stomach problems. Paul was with him....What??? What a stretch that is!
Edit: I see you have your theology all logically worked out, but man's logic often doesn't equal truth. The book of Acts and the epistles are not chronological. The events in these books overlap. So, to say that the "charismatic" gifts diminished gradually is such a stretch of the imagination.
True, but the burden of proof that the sign gifts continued on in the Church age after Apostles passed away cannot be met by those saying they did!The existence of a counterfeit does not imply the nonexistence of the genuine.
What proof do we have that the gifts recorded to operate in the church were to continue after John passed, and the scriptures were completed to us?And what would be the point of telling them to "covet earnestly the best gifts" rather than, "I'll hook you up the next time I'm in town" if the gifts were administered only by apostles?
Simple answer, as the true ones, Apostles wise, are the ones recorded in the Bible, and the false Apostles are any claiming to be one since John!Who are the true apostles and teachers, and who are the false? No one wants to answer that question.
Many WoF Churches are not being led and directed by the Holy Spirit, as the members are heeding false doctrines and false teachers!Does anyone understand what im asking? My question is why these churches cant agree with each other if they are spirit filled?
Not to forget that “EVERY man” Paul was writing his letter to happened to be in a Charismatic church where Paul said all could speak in tongues except for the “ungifted/idiotes” and the “apistos/unbelievers”. That’s simply context IMO.This is my point they don’t need just apostles to lay hands on them.
And the apostles are after the resurrection as well Ephesians 4:8-11
And nowhere does it say the gifts have ceased
A manifestation of the Spirit is given to EVERY man to profit withal 1Cor 13:7
Except that paul seemed to have not had that gift to heal Timothy, or Himself any longer, and that was historically what happened! What??? What a stretch that is!

And that the most Charismatic church that Paul wrote to, Corinthian one, was one of the most messed up ones! Not to forget that “EVERY man” Paul was writing his letter to happened to be in a Charismatic church where Paul said all could speak in tongues except for the “ungifted/idiotes” and the “apistos/unbelievers”. and what would "you " preach as .."the real Gospel " ..I do not see the AOG as not teaching the real Jesus and real Gospel, just that they are confused and misunderstand the person and work of the Holy Spirit, but to their credit, they deny we can claim divine healing a s a right, can have prosperity, and that there are modern day Apostles/Prophets.
Satan used the WoF to mess up badly Charismatic theology, as their doctrines come from Hell, and are messing up the Charismatic churches!
