It seems you are implying he attempted to rape someone. Yet you still have no evidence if that. Assuming the worst it seems. It appears you are basing an assumption on an ideology.

It seems that you prefer to read minds instead of words. I never said he tried to rape anyone, but of course, if he had, he'd be excused -- no harm no foul, right?

An investigation which, as ordered, did not speak to the accuser, the accused, or any witness claiming to have pertinent information.

There was no need to speak to the accuser or the accused. They were already spoken to and questioned at length by the Senate directly. The witnesses claiming to have pertinent information were found to not have any, which is why the investigation didn't take long to complete.

Still another assumption.

You ever heard of an investigation with no follow-up?

The witnesses claiming to have pertinent information were found to not have any, which is why the investigation didn't take long to complete.

One must seek before one finds -- the FBI either chose or were ordered not to. That's the whole "not questioned" part, ICYMI.

That will be the bumper sticker seen on liberal's vehicles for the November election.

Odd, since it was your idea given more succinct form. Going into the used car business?

I've heard of delay tactics. I've also been witnessing them for quite some time now. I'm glad the Senate is finally putting a stop to all of it and proceed with the vote today. It's long overdue.

Still another assumption.

A poll was taken on the topic (You remember; you were there). The results were, admittedly, slightly less disappointing than I had expected.

And that, boys and girls, is why there was no follow-up.

Also, incidentally, You were wrong about something important:

The witnesses claiming to have pertinent information were found to not have any, which is why the investigation didn't take long to complete.

It took a week because the FBI was only allowed a week by the GOP. Kind of an important fact to get wrong there.

They actually wrapped it up in just 3 days. They found nothing that adds credibility to Ms. Ford's claims. What they did find is that her own witnesses actually took away what little claim to credibility she thought she had. Here, from a favorite source: Christine Blasey Ford’s Credibility Under New Attack by Senate Republicans

Assuming again I see. It's not minds I read it was your post, specifically about Kav. You assume again that he'd be supported or excused if he had. I'm sorry, but it appears you assume the worst again. Ideology, not facts is what seems to drive you .

The article doesn't say what you think it says. Jus' sayin'

I "think" it says this:
"Mr. Merrick took issue with Dr. Blasey’s professed fear of flying and of confined spaces, noting that they once traveled around the Hawaiian islands in a propeller plane. “Dr. Ford never indicated a fear of flying,” he wrote. “To the best of my recollection Dr. Ford never expressed a fear of closed quarters, tight spaces, or places with only one exit.”

While she testified that she once insisted on building a second front door in her house because of the trauma of her encounter with Judge Kavanaugh, Mr. Merrick said he helped her find a place to live in California “in a very small, 500 sq. ft. house with one door.”

He also wrote that they broke up “once I discovered that Dr. Ford was unfaithful” and that she continued to use a credit card they shared nearly a year before he took her off the account. “When confronted, Dr. Ford said she did not use the card, but later admitted to the use after I threatened to involve fraud protection,” he said.

Facts are that far too many on the Right went on record saying that even if the allegations are true, they'd still have supported Kavanaugh. You can google the poll results yourself if you like.

And yet you said, "her own witnesses actually took away what little claim to credibility"

The truth is that you have one source who was anonymous (something you people used to put little stock in) until the MSM (something you people used to put no stock in) connected the dots and traced it back to a an ex-boyfriend... a man with, by his own admission, his own ax to grind, and whose testimony was refuted by another witness, namely Monica McLean, who has said he's lying.

But of course, in he said/she said, we must believe him, right?

I did that, and I also looked up who did this poll and what their record of bias is. It was done by Marist College, which has a bias rating that gives them a D+ grade. Which Pollsters To Trust In 2018

Not exactly a neutral source for information on what people think.

Indeed. We all witnessed the delay tactics Mitch McConnell used with Judge Merrick Garland.

Donald Trump didn't pick a candidate during his final year in office. Obama picked Garland at that time.
