Start where ever you want, just end by posting the scriptures where God commanded the Church to gather on Saturday to worship Jesus.

It’s so obvious, that you don’t even know what we are discusssing, because you have your “canned” cut and paste responses that you have been repeating, to everyone.

I’m not saying the Commandment of the Sabbath has been abolished.

I’m not teaching people to gather on Sunday to worship Jesus either.

My question has always been, how does the New Testament instruct us to keep the Sabbath under the New Covenant?

Where does the New Testament say we are to gather on the Sabbath to worship Jesus?

IOW, where do you come up with the doctrine of gathering on Saturday to worship Jesus, because it’s not in the Bible?

You are great at condemning everyone with scripture for not practicing your Sabbath keeping, but when asked to produce a scripture that says we are to gather on Saturday to worship Jesus, you don’t have one.

So much for your Sabbath keeping doctrine.

All your quotes about the sabbath are from the Old Testament which they dont include Jesus’ teachings or the teachings of His apostles. Your quote from James is not in the proper context. Who is able to keep the commandments? The answer is nobody. That’s why Jesus did away with the letter of the law and we are now saved by living in the Spirit. You can keep quoting the Old Testament until His second coming and it still doesn’t change the fact that we are no longer under the letter of the law we are under the purpose of the law. The Old Testament scriptures will not reflect this idea because it was not presented yet.

1 John 2:1 KJB - My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

1 John 2:2 KJB - And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

1 John 2:3 KJB - And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.

John 14:15; Exodus 20:6 KJB.

1 John 2:4 KJB - He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

1 John 2:5 KJB - But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.

1 John 2:6 KJB - He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.

Luke 4:16-19 KJB
You cannot love, as Jesus loved while knowingly not keeping His 7th Day Holy, when you have the light to do so, as you do. You say "love", but it is empty... a husk ... free-lovism. Spiritualistic nothing. For in knowing as you know, you transgress the one, they are all broken, not kept.
Please show us where John is telling us to keep the ten commandments. I think ten is a word you add in for meaning. I just can't find it.

What men call 'light' these days is darkness.

Isaiah 5:20 KJB - Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

Proverbs 2:13 KJB - Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness;

You call God's Ten Commandments?

Proverbs 6:23 KJB - For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life:
How readest thou?

1 John 2:7 KJB - Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which ye have heard from the beginning.

1 John 2:8 KJB - Again, a new commandment I write unto you, which thing is true in him and in you: because the darkness is past, and the true light now shineth.

1 John 2:9 KJB - He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now.

1 John 2:10 KJB - He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him.

1 John 2:11 KJB - But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes.
What was love Jesus? Deuteronomy 6:5; Leviticus 19:17-18 ... Obeying God in His Ten Commandments... John 14:15; Exodus 20:6 KJB.
That lamp has flickered; is really out and replaced with the Holy Spirit according to Galatians 5:18.

There is "one lawgiver", not two [James 4:12 KJB]. The "commandment" in 1 John 3:23 is the "Father's" commandment, which contains 2 things:

1 John 3:23 KJB - And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.

[1] "believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ"

[2] "love one another, as he gave us commandment"

Wherein/when did God, tell us to "love one another"?

John 13:34 KJB - A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

John 15:12 KJB - This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.

John 15:17 KJB - These things I command you, that ye love one another.
Jesus how did you love us?

The Ten commandments. again see Deuteronomy 6:5; Leviticus 19:17-18; Exodus 20:6; John 14:15.

That which Jesus spoke on Mt. Sinai was His Father's Commandments, as Jesus said:

John 12:49 KJB - For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.

John 10:30 KJB - I and my Father are one.
What do you mean with this verse?

The problem comes when you can only see the letter itself. Under the OC God told Moses the Israelites were a stiff necked heathen people who would soon desert him when they got to the promised land. Much of the time they rebelled against God, and sought to only mechanically as it were obey . Their hearts were hard. It isn't hard to understand that under such circumstances God required them to set aside a specific day to worship and mediate on him. Think about God and reflect on him/his goodness to them.
However, as Jeremiah prophesied in ch 31 of his book. The NC would not be like the old one, it was to be very different. Under the NC the Holy Spirit permanantly dwells in you, the Spirit of Christ lives in you(Rom8:10) Now if Christ is IN you, you are going to dwell on him every day of the week, you do not need to be asked to do it, you will do it. You will praise and thank God every day of the week instinctively for what he has done in you through His sons sacrifice for you/ The stony heart has been removed, a heart of flesh given. You have been born again. Therefore, you do not need to be instructed to set as certain day aside to worship and meditate on God.
Paul of course reasoned something along such lines when he stated:
One man considers one day more holy/sacred than another, another man considers everyday alike, each one should be fully convinced in their owm mind Rom 14:5
The problem is, when you can only see the partial letter, you are blinded to the message the letter contains/much spiritual reality. And, I'm afraid that is where the SDA pretty much are.
And so, they rigidly quote reams of the letter to reason you must follow what they believe(as many other denominations do to be fair.)
Same with clean/unclean foods. Paul plainly states twice in rom ch14 all food is clean, so they try and find reasons he didn't really mean what he stated. Not hard to do if you try hard enough. Muslims/Mormons/jws all quote the letter to support their beliefs.
Of course, if it is still sin to eat the Levitical unclean foods, then the Apostles and Jerusalem church gave gentile converts a licence to sin in Acts ch 15.
Paul states the Christian dies to the law/is released from the law and serves in the new way of the Spirit, not the old way of the written code. Because SDA, being stuck in the letter do not understand this message, they may accuse you of putting your own words above the bible(though you are simply quoting the bible). They may accuse you of saying Christ did away with the law. Standard responses if you do not understand the message preached. As Paul states, you either follow after the Holy Spiriit or the written code, it can only be one or the other, and only the Holy Spirit can lead you into truth

Some people are ignorant, but God is commanding all in the last days to repentance:

Acts 17:30 KJB - And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:
If this is applied to the sabbath according to the meaning of repent they won't continue to keep the sabbath.
Some have light:

John 3:19 KJB - And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

Yes and the ten commandments were already in the world. This light being talked about here is Jesus.
There are many which do not have such light as you have Marco70. They are innocent in ignorance. However, since you claim to not be blind, and have light and so see:

John 9:41 KJB - Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth.
What happened to the verse that says God won't remember sins found in Jeremiah 31:34?
Do not harden your heart, it is eternally fatal:

1 Timothy 4:1 KJB - Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

1 Timothy 4:2 KJB - Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
Why does Paul chastise Christians about returning to the law in Galatians?
God does not condemn ignorance. It is when light is rejected and rejected that then they are rejected:

Hosea 4:6 KJB - My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
This verse isn't a reference to Christians. It's very true Christians are destroyed because of a lack of knowledge. This is because they follow men and refuse to read the Scripture much less study it.

Where is the 4th Commandment Marco70? One of the Ten of that Law which Marco70 said was to be written upon the heart.

Where is that which was written in specifity on the heart about the 7th Day the Sabbath of the LORD thy God? Where Marco70? Exodus 20:8-11 KJB didn't vanish into thin air.
Where does the Bible say the 4th commandment was written on our heart?

Marco70, do Christians need to keep the Ten Commandments [Exodus 20:1-17 KJB; John 14:15; Exodus 20:6], yes or no?
No Jesus is talking about his commandments and not the famous ten. The word "my" is is possessive ownership. Jesus didn't issue the ten commandments.

You have a contradiction Marco70.

You said:

"... The law God desires(desires) you to obey that was written in stone is in your heart and mind. ..."

Then you said in regards the 4th Commandment, which was "written on stone" [Deuteronomy 4:13 KJB - And he declared unto you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, even ten commandments; and he wrote them upon two tables of stone.]:

"... either no such law was placed in your heart and mind or you cannot be a christian ..."
Where are these specific words of the Ten Commandments, that were written in stone Marco70?:

Exodus 20:8 KJB - Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

Exodus 20:9 KJB - Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:

Exodus 20:10 KJB - But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

Exodus 20:11 KJB - For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
What happened to these specific words Marco70?
You don't understand what Marco70 said.

We confess Jesus not only by our words but by the life we lead...

MATTHEW 10:32-33 [32], Whoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. [33], But whoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.
Confess Jesus, yes and AMEN! The problem is this isn't what you're doing.
By sinning against God we deny him and his power to save us from sin. Many will have a form or godliness but deny the power thereof (2 TIMOTHY 3:5). The power of GOD is salvation from sin not in sin (ROMANS 1:16).
Yes many have the or rather a form of godliness while at the same time refusing to accept His Word and only begotten Son as Savior. The law has nothing to do with redemption. Redemption and forgiveness aren't the same thing.
MATTHEW 7:22-23 [22], Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in your name? and in your name have cast out devils? and in your name done many wonderful works? [23], And then will I profess to them, I NEVER KNEW YOU: DEPART FROM ME YOU WHO WORK SIN.
This is about religious people, not Christians.
links to..

1 JOHN 2:3-4 [3], And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. [4], HE THAT SAYS I KNOW HIM, and keeps not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

1 JOHN 3:6 [6], 6, Whosoever abides in him sins not: WHOSOEVER SINS HAS NOT SEEN HIM AND DOES NOT KNOW HIM.

If anyone is professing Christ while living a life of KNOWN UNREPENTANT SIN they do not KNOW God and are denying him before men. It will be too late for many come judgement day.
Amen! What you present is righteousness by the law which does't grant forgiveness (remission of sin) and has been retired. Therefore it can't be violated.

Hello Marco70,

How can you trust your own heart when God says it is desparately wicked?
Trust your heart or what God has placed there. Why isn't it obvious God hasn't placed the national law issued to Israel alone on our heart?
JEREMIAH 17:9-10 [9], The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? [10], I the LORD search the heart, I test the mind, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.
This negates grace.
MATTHEW 15:19 [19], For from the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, all sexual immorality, theft, lying, and slander.
Yes if that's what you think about. The Christian has a new heart which isn't wicked.
PROVERBS 28:26 [26], He that trusts in his own heart is a fool: but whosoever walks wisely, he shall be delivered.
True, The Christian doesn't trust in his heart. We trust in Jesus and are led by the Holy Spirit. Sadly this isn't what is preached in our Churches. They would lose control of their dependent subjects they need to be in constant turmoil.
ECCLESIASTES 3:9 [9], This is an evil in all that is done under the sun, that the same event happens to all. Also, the hearts of the children of man are full of evil, and madness is in their hearts while they live, and after that they go to the dead.
I'm a child of God as a born again Christian. Your verse is invalid for the Christian.
This is why we need a new heart to be Born again..

Ezekiel 36:26-27 [26], A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh.
[27], And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and you shall keep my judgments, and do them.
Sadly you think this means the law (ten commandments).
JOHN 3:3-7 [3], Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.[4], Nicodemus said unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? [5], Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. [6], That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. [7], Marvel not that I said unto you, You must be born again.
What is born again? The body of flesh? No!
links to...

1 JOHN 3:9 [9], WHOSOEVER IS BORN OF GOD DOES NOT COMMIT SIN; for his nature remains in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
What you mean this verse to mean is only self condemning and making salvation impossible.

Again:

The word "refreshed" as already indicated from Exodus [pointing to Genesis], is due to God ceasing to Speak Creation. For in the Beginning was the Word [even 'Jesus']. In other words He ceased speaking the Word of Creation at the end of the 6th Day, and from forming anything further with his hands.

No, God did not become tired. He did however Stop Creating, by His Word. Thus "rested", and was "refreshed".

Isaiah 40:28 KJB - Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.

He did however ceased from speaking, and saying, "Let there be...", thus pausing in 'breath' as you might say.

Genesis 1:1 KJB - In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

Genesis 1:2 KJB - And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

Genesis 1:3 KJB - And God said, Let ...

Genesis 1:6 KJB - And God said, Let ...

Genesis 1:7 KJB - And God made ...

Genesis 1:9 KJB - And God said, Let ...

Genesis 1:11 KJB - And God said, Let ...

Genesis 1:14 KJB - And God said, Let ...

Genesis 1:16 KJB - And God made ...

Genesis 1:20 KJB - And God said, Let ...

Genesis 1:21 KJB - And God created ...

Genesis 1:24 KJB - And God said, Let ...

Genesis 1:25 KJB - And God made ...

Genesis 1:26 KJB - And God said, Let ...

Genesis 1:27 KJB - So God created ...

Genesis 1:29 KJB - And God said, Behold ...

Psalms 8:3 KJB - When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;

Psalms 33:6 KJB - By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.

Psalms 33:9 KJB - For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast.

Job 38:4-7 KJB - [4] Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding. [5] Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it? [6] Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof; [7] When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?
God was "finished" speaking Creation. It is a "memorial" [pointing to the past perfect Earth without sin, because He is without sin], see Exodus 20:8-11. Then it is also a "memorial" [pointing to the past resting in it of Jesus in the grave for our salvation, because He is without sin, and took upon Himself our sins, and paid the penalty for sin]. In the New Heavens and New Earth, is will again be a "memorial" [pointing to the past act of the finishing the plan of Redemption]. It is the "perpetual [eternal] sign" of perfection and completion, by Faith in the Creator and Redeemer. Those who knowingly separate themselves from this "sign", state that they did not believe that Jesus can bring them to perfect love [John 14:15; Exodus 20:6; Deuteronomy 6:5; Leviticus 19:17-18 KJB].

The Sabbath commandment is eternal Light and Spiritual, never temporary Shadow, never Carnal.

Jesus is the word of God. Therefore, in his death, he too then stopped speaking, entered into the 7th Day the Sabbath of Jesus [the LORD thy God, the Son]., magnifying God's [His Father's] Law above everything, making it honourable. He is both the Just and Justifier ...

Those knowingly transgressing it, willingly "forget" what Jesus paid for their sins [1 john 3:4 KJB], and make excuses ... they choose not to "remember" ...
Who or what is this seed in Galatians 3:19?

The "new" covenant existed before the 'old', for it is the "everlasting Covenant" made between the Father and the Son, witnessed by the Holy Ghost before the world was. It was put into effect should sin [1 John 3:4 KJB] ever arise. It was ratified by the blood of Jesus at Calvary [Hebrews 13:20 KJB], and ratified by the Father in Heaven when Jesus ascended from Mt. Olivet [Psalms 133:1-3; Revelation 5:6,24 KJB]. It is based in God's character and promises, which is exactly what the Ten Commandments [Exodus 20:1-17 KJB] are, again see Exodus 33:17-23, Exodus 34:1-9, Exodus 20:5,6 KJB], to be written upon the heart of those who had transgressed, if they would accept, Jeremiah 32:40 KJB.
This is wrong. Our NC didn't exist prior to the national law given to Israel at Sinai. If it were there wouldn't be a new testament (covenant). Such a statement that the new covenant functionally existed prior to what it invalidates makes the NT a lie.

We need to back up a bit. What are the spiritual and moral principles underlying the sabbath and clarified by Christ? Are they not (1) rest from daily labor, (2) worship, and (3) good works? Were these principles not practiced by the Lord, and was He not condemned because of His good works?

But Christ could not arise from the dead on the sabbath day, because it was indeed God's day of rest. So He arose on "the morrow after the sabbath", and is called the First Fruits of them that slept, thus indicating that He fulfilled the feast of First Fruits. And the morrow after the sabbath is the first day of the week, which the Lord authorized to be known as "the Lord's Day". The apostle John could only mention "the Lord's Day" if they Lord Himself had sanctified it.

That would be the day when the Lord's people would gather around the Lord's Table for the Lord's Supper. And it would become the Christian day of rest, worship and good works. We see in the New Testament that the first day of the week was set aside for worship, and ever since the Lord's Day has been observed by Christians over th centuries as the Christian sabbath.

It also happens to be the 8th day, and 8 is the number of a New Creation in Scripture. Circumcision was on the 8th day. So the Church came into existence on the morrow after the sabbath, the Day of Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit was poured out upon the earth from Heaven, and about 3,000 souls were saved.

Just because it happens to be called "Sunday" has no bearing on spiritual truth. Every day of the week is connected to some pagan god, but Christians simply accept that and ignore it.

Thank you for your thoughtful reply... :)

I would challenge you on the understanding of the Lord's day however... when John used this term in Revelation 1:10, there was no qualifier for what day it actually was. For this, we need to look into scripture for an answer. The is only one quote from Jesus on this subject and it was recorded in 3 of the gospels.

Matthew 12:8
For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.

I appreciate your suggestion of the 8th day hypothesis, however, this is not in any way a definitive text proof of what John was referring to in Revelation. The only "thus saith the Lord" we have on this is that the Lord's day refers to Sabbath.

How do we know this from the scriptures?

Fair question.

Jesus Himself claimed to be YHWH, the Lord God.

54 Jesus answered, “If I honor Myself, My honor is nothing. It is My Father who honors Me, of whom you say that He is your[m] God. 55 Yet you have not known Him, but I know Him. And if I say, ‘I do not know Him,’ I shall be a liar like you; but I do know Him and keep His word.56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw itand was glad.”

57 Then the Jews said to Him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham?”

58 Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.”

59 Then they took up stones to throw at Him; but Jesus hid Himself and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by. John 8:54-59

again

8 “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,” says the Lord, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” Revelation 1:8

and again

12 “And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work. 13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.”
Revelation 22:12-13

Peter says it this way -

Simon Peter, a bondservant and apostle of Jesus Christ,
To those who have obtained like precious faith with us by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ: 2 Peter 1:1

again

10 Of this salvation the prophets have inquired and searched carefully, who prophesied of the grace that would come to you, 11 searching what, or what manner of time, the Spirit of Christ who was in them was indicating when He testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ and the glories that would follow.
1 Peter 1:10-11

Peter teaches us, it was the Spirit of Christ in the Old Testament prophets.

Example:

The burden of the word of the Lord against Israel. Thus says the Lord, who stretches out the heavens, lays the foundation of the earth, and forms the spirit of man within him: Zechariah 12:1

Christ Jesus is YHWH the Lord God.

Paul -

looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, Titus 2:13

again

16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness:

God was manifested in the flesh,
Justified in the Spirit,
Seen by angels,
Preached among the Gentiles,
Believed on in the world,
Received up in glory.
1 Timothy 3:16
