I am convinced that the answer to this question is ....... yes!

But it is pretty amazing how divided we Christians are on this topic so far.

Grant R. Jeffrey Ph. D. made some fascinating comments on the relationship between the Messianic Jewish community of the first century.......... until the destruction of the Temple...... and he compared what happened then with what will happen when Ezekiel chapters 40 - 48 are finally fulfilled in the millennium.

"The Sacrificial System Will Continue

One of the most perplexing ideas to students of Scripture is the idea that God intends that the annual feasts, along with animal sacrifice, will continue into the Millennium. Many Christians who have studied the prophetic portions of Zechariah 14, Isaiah 66, and Ezekiel 40 - 48, which clearly describe these Millennial worship ordinations, are confused by the idea. They ask, "Didn't the sacrifice of Christ eliminate animal sacrifices forever?"

............"Only the complete sacrifice of Jesus could ever totally atone for our sins. However, God clearly demanded the sacrifices from Adam to Christ. Those sacrifices were acts of obedience to the direct command of God, as well as acknowledgements of one's own personal sinfulness and need for God's forgiveness. Animal sacrifices covered the sins of the people temporarily until the prophesied Messiah would come and offer Himself once and for all as the necessary atonement for sin. If animal sacrifice can never atone for sin, why would God allow Israel to resume such sacrifice in the Third Temple, prior to Armageddon, and then demand that Israel continue such sacrifice in the Millennium? There are two reasons why I believe this is true."

First, the early Jewish - Christian Church continued to offer sacrifices in the first century.".......

.......Second, New Testament writers used the legal sacrificial system to illustrate very important points concerning Christ's sacrifice on the Cross.......

..... These examples of the way early Jewish believers used God's law to teach great love when He sacrificed His only Son on the cross will be repeated during the Millennium." (Grant R. Jeffrey, Messiah, War in the Middle East and the Road to Armageddon, page 317, 318 and 319)

I admit it..... Zechariah chapter 14 is scary..........
so humanly.... we tend to want to see these events delayed..... and delayed......
and delayed......!

Zechariah 14:2

For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.

Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.

And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.

but...... there is obvious good news in the idea of Messiah Yeshua - Jesus ruling over the nations of the world..... and even getting a representative sample of nations to come to the Festival of Tabernacles.............

Zec 14:16

And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.

And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain.

And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that have no rain; there shall be the plague, wherewith the LORD will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.

This shall be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all nations that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.

The building of a third temple is entirely a Jewish matter - The Jews that have not accepted Christ are those that want the third temple.
I have not heard of Messianic Jews pushing for a third temple - however some may if they think it will usher in the coming of our Lord sooner :)

Well said seventysevens............... this earth has so much injustice and pain and suffering.......
that the literal fulfillment of Zechariah chapter 14...... and Ezekiel 47.........
seem like the only possible way to usher in a vastly better world........

where finally.......

Jeremiah 31:34

And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more."

and.....

Hebrews 8:11

And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.

Zechariah 14 will happen before the temple in Ezekiel 40-48 is built. The Ezekiel 40-48 temple is too large to be construction in the timeframe of 7 months after Gog/Magog.

A small expedited version of the temple will be constructed of minimum dimensions in order to get the animal sacrifices started as soon as possible.

Somebody on You Tube put together a verse by verse video of the Ezekiel 40-48 temple.

A third Jerusalem temple (not Ezekiel's temple) is needed to fulfill the final "one week" of Dan.9:27 and Dan.11 regarding the "vile person" as the coming Antichrist. That future temple is the temple of God that Apostle Paul was talking about in 2 Thessalonians 2 that the Antichrist is to come and sit in, playing God.

But it's not really the 3rd temple, but a 4th one technically. The 2nd temple was built after the remnant of Jews returned from the Babylon captivity. Herod's later modifications is what some claim to be a 3rd temple. So the temple today's orthodox Jews have the materials ready to build would be a 4th temple which will be destroyed by Jesus' return. The Ezekiel temple will be a 5th temple.

And I don't interpret the sacrifices in Ezekiel 40-48 to be literal, because Paul used the idea of our love to The Father and His Son as a type of sacrifice.

Thank you for this very interesting reply.

It seems like the additions made by King Herod are the least stable.

Yeah I can go along with that.
But I don't, because the new Temple will be built by the Lord's faithful Christian people, who will occupy all of the holy land soon after the Lord's day of wrath, the Sixth Seal has cleared that entire area.
They- WE; will build the new Temple, Zechariah 1:16, Haggai 2:7-9, + and we will make thank offerings to God in it. Jeremiah 33:11 & 18, Isaiah 56:6-7, Ezekiel 46:4-7, + and 2 Thessalonians 2:4 and Revelation 11:1 make it quite clear that will be a Temple in Jerusalem before Jesus Returns.

Why deny these truths?
If they don't suit your beliefs, then look to what you have been taught; don't just parrot ideas that fail the scripture proof test.

The next temple to be built in Jerusalem will be built by the orthodox unbelieving Jews, as they already have the materials and plan on starting up the old covenant worship again. They still reject Jesus Christ as Messiah. They're still waiting on Messiah's first and only coming (they think). Yet God is going to send them an imposter at the very end of this present world before Jesus comes.

Scripture simply does not support this scenario.
Of the Jews, only a remnant will be saved, Romans 9:27, Isaiah 6:11-13, Isaiah 29:1-4, + Those Jews who have accepted Jesus now.
The Sixth Seal devastation will clear the Temple Mount and the people who will re-inhabit all the holy Land; every faithful Christian, will build a new Temple and worship God in it. Ezekiel 40-48, Zechariah 6:15, Isaiah 56:1-8, +

There is no imposter Messiah, The Anti-Christ leader of the One World Govt of all the rest of the world, will demand worship of himself. Revelation 13:11-15

There is no imposter Messiah, The Anti-Christ leader of the One World Govt of all the rest of the world, will demand worship of himself. Revelation 13:11-15

In 2 Thess.2:3-4, Apostle Paul uses the idea of the imposter poses as "God" (Greek theon) which can point to Jesus Christ because Jesus is God The Son.

In Matt.24:23-26, Jesus was pointing directly to a singular pseudochristos coming to work great signs and wonders that if possible would deceive even His very elect. The KJV translators translated pseudochristos to "false Christs", but the context of those 23-26 verses is about a singular false Christ, and it aligns with the same false one Paul warned of in 2 Thess.2 and that John warned of in Rev.13:11 forward that's to come and actual work miracles to deceive the world.

The Greek 'pseudochristos' is made up of two words, pseudo meaning false, and christos which means Christ (singular). The direct translation is 'a false Christ' (Dr. James Strong translated it as "a spurious Messiah" - no.5580).

Plenty enough Biblical evidence then for that imposter coming to play Christ in Jerusalem for the end.

The Anti-Christ, as described in the Bible, will demand worship of himself, he will call himself god and sit in the Temple.
2 Thessalonians 2:4
For starters, this proves there will be a new Temple, so yes, there is your false Christ, if you want to call him that.

As the OP asks, it is when the AC breaks his treaty with the Christian people of Beulah, Isaiah 62:1-5, that Zechariah 14:1-2 is fulfilled. Confirmed by Revelation 12:6-17 and Revelation 13:5-7

Isaiah 61:2 and Zechariah 14:1-2 are both about the final day of this present world, i.e., the "day of the Lord", not the time when the Antichrist will end sacrifices in Jerusalem and setup the abomination idol, which is when he will break the "league" of Dan.11.

Your opinion. Quite wrong and totally unscriptural.

Thinking that Zechariah 14:1-2 happens at the Return, is quite impossible. Is the city conquered by enemies then, ransacked and the women raped?
Does half of the people go into exile then? No: these two verses apply to the time described in Revelation 12:6-17, when Satan comes down to earth and conquers the holy people, Daniel 7:25 and Revelation 13:7

THEN in verse three, Jesus Returns, as we know from Daniel and Revelation; 1260 days later.

Isaiah 61:2 is the Lord's Day of vengeance and wrath; the Sixth Seal, which is the next prophesies event we can expect.
