If I could be part of any generation, I think Gen X is the best. There was some problematic immature behavior, but it wasn't as extreme as it is now.. plus they were the generation behind some of the greatest works of music produced.
Well... Just found out my dress is getting here 2.5 months early. Now to figure out how to keep it hidden from fiance and safe from cats. In other words, keep it secret, keep it safe!

Just a helpful tip..... if you find yourself thinking "This is the perfect place to hide it, I could never forget where I put it"put it elsewhere. History has shown for me..... any time I say that, losing it is a certainty.
How do you have faith and trust in God without wavering? Lately I have personified the double-minded person in the passage from James "But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord;he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways." How do you stay strong in the face of trials without giving up?
My faith is weak where it used to be strong. Please pray that God would strengthen me to get back to where I was before.
It may seem impossible to stay strong now, Sarah, but you know as well as I that in the end, God carries us. He always gets us through it, even when it feels hopeless or like weak faith the entire time.

I think it's perfectly natural to have your faith levels fluctuate. Just remember that you are only human and unable to meet the moral and spiritual perfection God requires of us without a savior. Don't let this period of lower faith discourage you. I think God would rather us be honest when we have our anger, doubts, and fears about His plans for us rather than just try to bullspit everything hoping to please a being that already knows your state of mind at the moment.
I said a prayer for you. I pray you can regain your faith again and I also pray to God to give you strength and courage to pass through any trial you are experiencing right now. Just remember that once eternity is here, your harsh life will be like a nightmare you had during an afternoon nap.

I cant really help sadly, but I say take your struggle to God and ask Him to help you in your unbelief. I dont believe that ANYONE can trust in God without wavering faith at ALL times. Even Peter's faith wavered at times....
28 “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”
29 “Come,” he said.
Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. 30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”
31 Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?”
If Peter spent time literally walking with Jesus and he was walking on water.... yet still he had his doubts..... how many more will we then have doubts at moments?
And Jesus asked his father, “How long has this been happening to him?” And he said, “From childhood. 22 And it has often cast him into fire and into water, to destroy him. But if you can do anything, have compassion on us and help us.” 23 And Jesus said to him, “‘If you can’! All things are possible for one who believes.” 24 Immediately the father of the child cried out and said, “I believe; help my unbelief!” 25 And when Jesus saw that a crowd came running together, he rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it, “You mute and deaf spirit, I command you, come out of him and never enter him again.” 26 And after crying out and convulsing him terribly, it came out, and the boy was like a corpse, so that most of them said, “He is dead.” 27 But Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him up, and he arose. 28 And when he had entered the house, his disciples asked him privately, “Why could we not cast it out?” 29 And he said to them, “This kind cannot be driven out by anything but prayer.

Keep heart sister, its not that our faith wavers at times, it's that we don't set our faith down and walk away. It is in those times of wavering we decide, do we choose God, or do we choose our own way. After all, how can we trust God if we don't have moments in our faith that cause it to waver? It is when times get hard and our faith is stressed that we grow. Unfortunately our best times of learning are very painful. We can be told the stove is hot, but its not til we are burned we truly know what it means.

Thank you both. And, yes, Wayholka you are right that we are at present unable to meet God's perfect standard as we are not yet complete. Thank you for reminding me of this!
Last summer you said you were working on a redesign for your website and information would be provided in Fall of 2017. It is now January 2018 and there is no news of any progress. I'd just like to say that it's better to come out and admit to us that the redesign will come out later than expected due to technical difficulties than to ghost us and give us the impression that this is vaporware.
Thank you both. And, yes, Wayholka you are right that we are at present unable to meet God's perfect standard as we are not yet complete. Thank you for reminding me of this!
You are welcome. I cannot even count how many times I had to be reminded that this life isn't the only one we have and that Heaven will bring us greater joy than we could ever ask for. My faith levels fluctuate due to depression and traumatic memories and thankfully God does not expect me to get into His kingdom through my own merits. He gave us a gift of an eternal afterlife and it's up to us whether to accept that gift or not. Once we receive that gift, we can only try our best to make the best use of it. Nothing more and nothing less.
We fall down, we get back up, and we continue our journey. Bumpy journey this is, yes, but every successful journey will end when we reach our destination. Any successful immigrant looking for a better life in the promised land can confirm this.

The words "O ye of little faith" keep coming to mind. I wonder how many times God has said this to me. I would be ashamed to know how many!
But you are right that even Peter faltered in faith at times and God still loved him and used him in ways that are greater than we could ever be capable of. Thank you for your wisdom and insight.

So true, but we would all be ashamed of so much that we do if our eyes were fully open and our ears could truly hear all there is to God and His kingdom. Including all the moments we fail in our faith, but it's those very moments that we grow in our faith.
If we live an easy life without trials....... we have nothing to look back on to say "God pulled me through this".... the trials will hurt and darn near bring us to the brink at times, but we must cling to Him and keep our focus on Him.
Much like when you are at work, if you focus on the clock, it will take forever. If you focus on being busy, the time passes quickly and you are through the unpleasantness. If all we do is focus on the problems rather than Him (easy to do in our flesh) it seems like the answer will never come. With our eyes on Him we will be through the hard times and back in green pastures. The Lord is leading us some where greater, we can not stay in one green pasture when it is not our destination.
It's not easy, of course, but He is always in control. Even when things look like chaos all around, it is still all within God's perfect plan and in His will. He knows the hairs on your head, how much less likely is He to forget all of you?
Matthew 10:29-31
29 Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care. 30 And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.
Any insight or wisdom is not mine to claim sister.
