No, no, no. I know the difference between a criticism and an insult. If you thought he was doing an awful job, you could say, “I think he is doing an awful job,” but this is an insult:
You have repeatedly said that we should talk about the issues and not the politicians but instead of asking about the issues you keep asking about Trump and I have responded truthfully about him because YOU made him the issue.
In this thread I am not concerned with the issues. I am just raising the question, "How many of us can discuss political issues without attacking someone?" I think it would be good if we could learn how to do that.
I guess you answer your own OP. It can't be done because you don't want to talk about the political issues. If you want to talk about gun control, then let's do it and leave politicians out of the issue but if you want to ask about why people attack Trump, I'm going to answer that honestly. It's all up to you.
I can't imagine why people can't talk about issues without attacking a politician.
When your issue is the politician and a horrible person, then that will always come up. It's hard to talk about Bill Clinton without talking about Monica at some point. But, if we talk about his economy, then it is easy to leave his bad side out.
You can make a politician the issue of a discussion, but if you are going to talk about taxes, or any other issue, you can leave the politician out of it. Just decide if you are for or against, and contact your congressman, if you'd like.

If the politician is constantly espousing racist views, like Trump, then I would say no.
But he doesn't consistently espouse racist views. He has publicly denounced the KKK, white supremacists, and neo-nazis. I saw him do it in a speech.
