  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I was #NeverTrump. I’ve changed my mind.

We are -- We have nests of domestic terrorists festering right under our noses, but our administration doesn't consider them to be a priority.
You know, nobody is saying the man is perfect, in fact his imperfection is very human. Can't attend to everything, otherwise, he'd be God. Therefore, we'll wait and see.

I agree and wish there was another way too, but I’m sure ‘those we cannot speak of’ would be glad to see us go... we’d probably get to see them doing public executions and parading around in new Humvees again.

Well then, I guess it is a good thing that there are some of us that are not afraid of ‘those we cannot speak of’ and wear a uniform and occasionally get the chance to go and kill them.

sounds like a threat???

You say this is a threat @Root of Jesse? I guess it could be considered a threat, a threat against Terrorists. You see, I currently wear the Uniform of a Sergeant First Class in the Michigan National Guard and have worn the uniform of an active duty Chief Petty Officer for my last eight years out of a total of twenty three years of active duty. I have killed bad guys in the past for the United States of America and I am looking forward for my next deployment so I can kill some more of them. I am actively doing something during this War on Terrorism other than whining on the internet and have been for quite some time.

I noticed that you considered using words that would get you banned, so kind of know where you come from.

Oh, do you mean this @Root of Jesse ?

The troops in the field I was with never called them “Islamic Terrorists”. The word used would result in a ban so I will not post it.

Nowhere did I say I considered using words that would get me banned. As a matter of fact, I believe I said “The word used would result in a ban so I will not post it.” I WILL NOT POST IT. Nothing about considering posting it. Now, I know English, Hebrew, Arabic, Spanish and French, but I see no place in what I posted that could be confused with considering posting words that would get me banned, but I could be wrong. But yes, the Troops that are in the field fighting against Islamic Terrorism instead of watching TV do not use the word “Islamic Terrorists” when we are talking about hunting them down and eradicating them from the face of the earth. It is more of a derogatory curse word that would be frowned upon on CF, as I stated, and not wanting to post it and get a warning or ban, I did not.

Have a super day!

November 2014 to November 2016 was essentially flat though, and that's what most people remember when they say bad.

Bad to me was December 2008 when all my investments with Washington Mutual disappeared. I didn’t trust the market until June 2015 and have been making a ton of money since, but not yet as much as I lost in 08.

I was #NeverTrump. I’ve changed my mind.

What ended up doing it for me is the body of work he’s accumulated without the help of Congress. I’m no fan of executive orders, but after a flurry of mostly righteous orders in the beginning that reversed many of Obama’s failing orders, he started calming down. The ones he ended up putting in place, from the various travel bans to pulling back on Obamacare to trying to cutting the bureaucracy down to size were all positives. I started saying fewer and fewer bad things about him because he simply wasn’t doing very many things worthy of complaint.

Then, there was Jerusalem. That’s what sold me. He did what every President should have done since 1967. This isn’t a 22-year-old endeavor. It’s a five-decade-old series of failures by American Presidents, including Ronald Reagan, that Trump finally corrected
.

I totally agree.... his courage in moving the USA Embassy to Jerusalem was truly impressive.

THIS is what got him the presidency (from the linked article):
....
“I have joined the political arena so that the powerful can no longer beat up on people that cannot defend themselves. Nobody knows the system better than me, which is why I alone can fix it.”

THIS is why the political machine hates him.

Exactly.............. and 2018 is being set up to be amazing!

We've waited. We've seen. We're not impressed.

But by all means, continue to lower the bar for his benefit. Compliment him on the marvelous way he exchanges oxygen for carbon dioxide.

To be fair, I first brought this up and whoever it was that responded to me first simply said I was wrong without giving any reasoning at all. I did give my reasoning for that, granted it's not some scientific multi-year study I did, but it's logic regardless. I think it's up to you now to provide some reasoning yourself to counter my claim. You don't get to just say "You're wrong" without giving a reason as to why.

No, I was asking this poster to share his evidence.

But what, politically speaking, does it accomplish?
