True enough... but there are also plenty of countries with Western values and Western institutions you wouldn't live in if they paid you...

Would you like to live in the U.S.?

I enjoy it very much.

Is the US the only country with Western values and Western institutions?

There are many other western countries that I enjoy, but I prefer living in the U.S.

But of course -- are there any western countries you wouldn't live in under any circumstances?

The president has a prayer meeting every morning in the Oval Office, and has a spiritual director.

Root of Jesse, what does a prayer meeting in the Oval Office have to do with the previous 50 years? If the President has truly changed - and the power of the office is held with great humility - then I could change my mind as the topic of this thread asked.

I struggle with simple changes such as my diet or exercise ... or controlling where my eyes roam (see Job 31:1). With God's power through the Holy Spirit, anyone can change, even me, and I pray that President Trump does change. It is most obvious when the ungodly change and begin to reflect, personally, the character of a godly person.

I was #NeverTrump. I’ve changed my mind.

What ended up doing it for me is the body of work he’s accumulated without the help of Congress. I’m no fan of executive orders, but after a flurry of mostly righteous orders in the beginning that reversed many of Obama’s failing orders, he started calming down. The ones he ended up putting in place, from the various travel bans to pulling back on Obamacare to trying to cutting the bureaucracy down to size were all positives. I started saying fewer and fewer bad things about him because he simply wasn’t doing very many things worthy of complaint.

Then, there was Jerusalem. That’s what sold me. He did what every President should have done since 1967. This isn’t a 22-year-old endeavor. It’s a five-decade-old series of failures by American Presidents, including Ronald Reagan, that Trump finally corrected
.

It's clear who doesnt read the laws passed in the States, because they calibrate their positive political and economic support against the strength of a passed bill.

However, if one of those persons actually read the law, they would not even use such a phrase as "being sold" considering the reality. Moreover, they wouldn't politically harlot themselves out to persons that do not care one iota for them.

So, I know the person hasn't actually read those executive orders (or past ones), or s/he is completely ignorant of the laws passed. The only other explanations are Stockholm Syndrome, and/or masochism. Self-defeatism could answer why people continue to be led by delusion. Don't quite know what the case is with the person in the OP.

THIS is what got him the presidency (from the linked article):
....
“I have joined the political arena so that the powerful can no longer beat up on people that cannot defend themselves. Nobody knows the system better than me, which is why I alone can fix it.”

THIS is why the political machine hates him.

No, this is that nonsensical claim that he makes that's predicated on the false premise that "the more my political opponents hate him, the more good he must be doing".

Also, I'm unaware of anyone he's standing up for that is getting "beaten up" by the system figuratively speaking. I've heard him make this claim before pertaining to fundamentalist Christians in a speech to an evangelical group. But...anyone with any sense knows that no group has been more coddled to over the past 100 years than them, yet they conflate "we're not getting our way on every little thing like we used to" and "we can't force our religious rules on everyone else in the name of our own comfort" with "we're victims".

Sorry, not letting you guys dictate what gets taught in public science class anymore and inject your religious preferences into every public institution, and not allowing you to use the force of government prevent the gay couple down the street from getting a marriage license isn't getting beaten up...

The actual groups that are getting "beaten up" (by the system, figuratively speaking) have actually gone a few steps backward in that regard due to some of his policies and people he's chosen to appoint to his cabinet.

I don't think the bible says "you shall know them by their prayer meetings".

Because he’s out of touch with reality?

Just so we're clear, this is the same Crown prince who recently rooted out scores of "corrupt" government officials and replaced them with... himself, right?

Wait, the argument you’re responding to here is that Saudi blockaded Qatar because they support terrorism? Wow.

There’s one born every minute - someone might want to look up Wahhabism.

I don't think the bible says "you shall know them by their prayer meetings".

"You shall know them by their fruits..." and Trump is definitely known by the fruit he bears. He's known by the profanity he continues to use, his vicious attacks against his political opponents, the racial slur he continues to use to insult Senator Warren, the childish fits he throws on Twitter whenever someone dares to question or challenge his leadership, and for his lewd behavior toward women. Not to mention his three marriages, admission to adultery, his philandering behavior and fathering five children with three different women. Yes, he's certainly known by the fruit he bears.

Trump's rescinding Obama's executive orders are leaving either bloodstained trails of innocent victims or choking smog-laden trails of environmental devastation, depending on what destruction he has in his sights. And there is very little thought that goes into his process. He just wants to be the un-Obama, and he's doing a good job. He's unfaithful to his wife, uninformed about public policy, un-industrious in his work habits, unpleasant in his demeanor and comments, unlikeable throughout the world and much of the United States.

Yes, as the un-Obama, he has sometimes found blundering, clueless success.
