Have there been other instances where something happened that you would ask if God was trying to tell you something? Have you been been bitten by a mosquito, had a fly buzzing around your house you couldn't catch, or saw a squirrel run through your yard? Do you think all of these have a specific meaning from God?

Maybe not for me.

But this feels like a more significant event. It costs me lots of time and money. The Lord has brought this into my life for some reason.

On a serious note, mice are lovely creatures. Our cat brought one in, and lost it. We found him camped behind the washing machine where he had collected supplies of cat biscuits. I caught him or her and took him into a field to release, whereupon he tapped me on the palm, and pointed in the other direction, so I trekked back and dropped him at the other end of the garden, much to his approval.

This sounds like it would be nice to have one mouse crash in your home for a bit. But lots of mice is a different story.

None of the above.
Bad things happen.
God does not bring bad things into our life.
He does use the the bad things to teach us and mold us.
Just as a parent would not do something bad to there child like give them a disease or break a limb to teach them a lesson.
But if a child has something like this happen to them, the parent can use this time to draw closer to the child.

This is some hogwarsh. God brings bad things into our lives all the time. God sent Joseph to be a slave in Egypt!

So do I have mice because God is judging me, because God is disciplining me, or because Satan is harassing me? Or some combination?
You have mice because mice found your home to live in. You need to get rid of them.

I used to have around 3,000 bed bugs in my room in the company barracks.

Well... I got rid of it. Hot iron and wrapped mattress in garbage plastic bags, slept on it, and after a few months, all gone!

We also have mice but don't grow to a large population, probably only one or two at a time due lack of food source in the house. One or two doesn't bother us.

We just found out that we have mice in our house :confounded::fearscream:.

My wife and I were discussing the theological significance of this the other night and it got me thinking. I know that Yahweh sent mice in order to harass the Philistines (God's judgment upon them). Which reminds me that Yahweh can do more with an army of mice than any king can do with an army of warriors. But I don't believe that we have mice because God is judging us.

However, God may be disciplining us and weaning us off an inappropriate attachment to this world. Our loving Father might certainly do such a thing.

But then I got to thinking about Satan. Some people, when facing an issue like this, might be inclined to think that this is spiritual warfare and that Satan sent these mice to harass them and goad them toward unbelief and sin.

But is this biblical? Satan, through his lies and schemes, certainly is able to have an influence over people. But Satan cannot command anything in creation. He has no control over mice, wind, waves, or anything else. All of creation is under Yahweh's control. Even when Satan harassed Job he had to get Yahweh's permission.

So do I have mice because God is judging me, because God is disciplining me, or because Satan is harassing me? Or some combination?

Discuss.
I have 10 cats outside in my yard and what they love most in life is chasing down a mouse. Still a mouse got past them and we have one in the house. Once I gave them a mouse that we caught in live trap and somehow they let him out of that trap and he got away from them.

You have mice because some found their way into your house. We used to have problems with mice licking the bait off of the trap until we tried baiting the trap with half of a peanut shell with some peanut butter. When they go to lick the peanut butter, the shell wiggles and sets off the trap.

None of the above. You have mice because there is food for them in your house. Try using metal food containers to keep them out. If mice have no food then will not stay.

Hi.

I think it's too easy to spiritualise everything. Sometimes things just happen, it doesn't have to mean God is judging you (isn't that Jesus point in Luke 13:1-6?). Of course, God can use these things to deepen our faith - and yes, he does discipline us, but to suggest that every thing that happens is God or Satan is, to me, taking it too far.

You said it's cold, so to me a better interpretation would simply be that the mice are looking for somewhere warm with food.

To A Mouse, On Turning Her Up In Her Nest With The Plough

1785
Type: Poem
Wee, sleekit, cow'rin, tim'rous beastie,
O, what a panic's in thy breastie!
Thou need na start awa sae hasty,
Wi' bickering brattle!
I wad be laith to rin an' chase thee,
Wi' murd'ring pattle!

I'm truly sorry man's dominion,
Has broken nature's social union,
An' justifies that ill opinion,
Which makes thee startle
At me, thy poor, earth-born companion,
An' fellow-mortal!

I doubt na, whiles, but thou may thieve;
What then? poor beastie, thou maun live!
A daimen icker in a thrave
'S a sma' request;
I'll get a blessin wi' the lave,
An' never miss't!

Thy wee bit housie, too, in ruin!
It's silly wa's the win's are strewin!
An' naething, now, to big a new ane,
O' foggage green!
An' bleak December's winds ensuin,
Baith snell an' keen!

Thou saw the fields laid bare an' waste,
An' weary winter comin fast,
An' cozie here, beneath the blast,
Thou thought to dwell-
Till crash! the cruel coulter past
Out thro' thy cell.

That wee bit heap o' leaves an' stibble,
Has cost thee mony a weary nibble!
Now thou's turn'd out, for a' thy trouble,
But house or hald,
To thole the winter's sleety dribble,
An' cranreuch cauld!

But, Mousie, thou art no thy lane,
In proving foresight may be vain;
The best-laid schemes o' mice an 'men
Gang aft agley,
An'lea'e us nought but grief an' pain,
For promis'd joy!

Still thou art blest, compar'd wi' me
The present only toucheth thee:
But, Och! I backward cast my e'e.
On prospects drear!
An' forward, tho' I canna see,
I guess an' fear!

Every time I plough a field I soon have a retinue of foxes and hawks feeding on the mice fleeing their nests. Poor creatures, no wonder they go for the Airbnb option.

Maybe God is telling you that it is time to clean out your house.....We spend a lot of time trying to look and appear righteous, when our insides are still like the inside of a tomb.

If you have bags of cat or dog food open, that they get into....forget any spiritual implications of what i said above....as this would be the only cause of your mice problem.

We create birdboxes, why don't we make mouse houses?
