The question I was most interested in hearing your opinion on was this...

What about those blacks who do have i humble beginnings and manage to succeed? Whether they're lawyers, doctors, politicians, businessmen...or if success to them is just working hard as a mechanic and raising a family...how did they do it? Did they require help from others? Did some wealthy white man save them from lifelong poverty?

I know that looks like multiple questions...but it's all the same really...how did they get ahead in such unfortunate circumstances?

From what I understand, this play group was set up as a support to families where English is not the first language spoken at home. So to allow people to get some support in developing the language skills which would help their children at school and their parents in society at large.

Someone who speaks English fluently - of any race - isn't the intended participant. (Ie. It's not a race issue).

Given that resources for groups to support people with poor English are scarce and stretched tight, I'm not surprised they didn't want a place taken up by someone who, to be blunt, didn't need it. I'm also not surprised they caved rather than face a media storm in a teacup...

You are not a true representation of Britain today.

There are millions of white people and non-white people in London living in poverty. All the money stays at the top with the corporation owners and big business owners and none of it makes it way down to the working class.

How will trying to squeeze every last piece of bread from white people and give it to minorities help the situation? If you want to take a strictly Biblical approach people donating their own personal wealth should be the way to go,not affirmative action or punishing the working class of specific race,which you call ''sharing'',equality is political agenda AND a false god if you follow it narrowly enough. Another problem with affirmative action is it eliminates the process of hiring people on competence as you're hiring on the basis of race,gender or whatever. Taking on people based on what they are rather than who they are is a racial concept itself.

Thou shall not steal. I've always regarded this as the answer to socialism,the same socialism that wants to steal tax money from one and give to another,rather than the voluntary option of charity.

I have a small favour to ask you. As you've been abroad for so long could you identify with your host nation now and not England please? We're trying to move away from all the radical left wing politics that you are spouting. Thanks.

Regardless of your personal experience, ageism is a real thing that is a serious disadvantage to the elderly looking for work...no matter what their skin color.

So again, we all have advantages and disadvantages...but I don't owe anyone because of my advantages nor does anyone owe me for my disadvantages. We should all play the hand we are dealt and try to treat each other as equals with all due respect.

If their intention is to help these "multicultural" children develop their English skills better...having at least one, if not several, native English speaking children would only be an asset...not a hindrance. Those children are at an age where language can be absorbed rather quickly and easily if they are immersed in it. Being around only other non English speakers would actually hamper their learning.

You say "place taken up" as if there is only so much space available...or if the play group is charging for membership. Is that actually the case?

You can ask, but I won't. I'll identify with whomever and whatever I like thank you very much.

I'll tell you what, if they ever take away my British passport, then I'll stop calling myself British. If Britain really is shifting to the right, then they'll need more reds like me. But surely everyone remembers the horror years of Thatcher.

Edit: PS: My socialism isn't radical. So I'd rather be said to be spouting "socialism" or just "left wing politics" and not "radical left wing politics".

It's called statistics. There will always be some members of any population who will be on the tail of the bell curve. Sometimes it's tenacity, sometimes it's exceptional ability, but mostly it's just dumb luck.
No one denies they are there, the problem is that they are not there in the right numbers.

I won't bore you with the long story. But the short story is that I benefited from a culture that was a left-over from the White Australia policy. (The White Australia policy was finally dismantled the year before I migrated. But the culture lived on well beyond that date.) I received financial assistance and preferential treatment that wasn't available to people who weren't British or white.
I am grateful because it got me out of poverty, but I now wish that all people had the same opportunity and leg up that I had, regardless of their skin colour, religion, or country of origin.

Although there is a new problem of the vanishing middle class of all skin colours. So maybe we need to stop this problem first before returning to the "racial" issues. With Trump as the most powerful person in the world there's a risk of things getting worse for all of us. Which makes it hard for those of us who want to help the most needy.

Think of an example of pure choice...watching tv. Do you think that all races have an equal distribution per capita with regards to every program?
