The only way Paul's strange statement makes any sense at all is this way

"they are not all Israel (members of the covenant) who are Israel (Jews).

That seems to refer to how there were real believers then, and just those who claimed to be children of Jacob etc.

The Jewish religion is fulfilled in Christ. To say that the animal sacrifices will be re-instituted is to spit upon the Cross.

One of them happens to be getting raised to a new body in the air and going to heaven for the marriage supper of Jesus. It would almost seem to make sense that a leader like that would be in the US at the time of the Rapture. Not that this is the case, but who really knows, could be, since the Rapture is due any time now. Almost like the mercy of the Lord.

I call into question the "God is love" thing said once in the Bible when I hear points like that indicating God is going to dissolve people's eyes and tongues through a plague.And the disciples clearly thought the end times would happen in their lifetime. Wouldn't they know better than anyone? Shouldn't it have happened nearly two millennia ago?

Well, since you are so sensitive and put me on inore I will reply for others.

The Lord is merciful. If He arranges a fairly good leader in the final days or years of the US, despite their being so far gone and basically doomed...I consider that mercy toward His people. It is good to see pro life people more empowered. Good to see baby killers somewhat back in the shadows. Good to see more of a tolerance for Sodom lifestyles than a fanatical hell bent outright promotion of evil...etc.

I doubt that any president could fix things. I see it more as a captain on a sinking ship, that at least calls for prayer on the way down...and maybe tries to stop some from stealing the life boats etc...

"Rapture" aka Caught up. This has been spoken about since 100+ AD. In 300+ ad. You know I just dont understand the problem here, about "Caught up". Well Jesus said He was going back to our Fathers house to make us a home and would come back and get us/take us/receive us unto Himself so WHERE He is we will be. HE said WHERE I go you know and how I go you know. So they expected Jesus any moment every day. The 1st book our brother wrote by the sweet sweet Holy Spirit was about this. They believed it so strong they thought Jesus came and they missed Him.

Fact.. there is NOTHING that has to happen for Jesus to come in the clouds and a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first and then us to meet Christ in the air. And what else does it say? "and so shall we ever be with the Lord." So this will happen. And its NOT apart of Salvation. See you dont have to believe this to be saved. But to think this GOD that gives us such freedom will FORCE anyone to go that does not believe is not ready..not wise. Man.. just take JESUS at HIS word and NO ONE ELSE. Jesus told YOU.. He is COMING back to GET YOU.

So you live each moment as if THIS is the moment He will come. We were never promised tomorrow. It will always be NOW when Jesus comes.

Forgive me but some here fulfilled prophecy. Talking about people been saying JESUS is coming for hunderds/thousands of years. "They will say, "Where is this 'coming' he promised? Ever since our ancestors died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation." 10 virgins. ALL fell asleep. Then all woke. 5 got in.. 5 did not. Saying JESUS is lord being saved ..you are. But one has to be ready.. be watching or to them when Christ comes it will be like a thief in the night. Just do what JESUS told you. What makes this REAL is Israel is NOW in their own land. And even though we have and earthquakes and storms and other things. What makes this so REAL is ALL of what Jesus said is happening at ONCE. You need to study covenant better.

Hebrews 8:13 says that the Old Covenant is over. It is done, finished, toast, and with it, the land promises which were part of the blessing of covenant obedience. Israel killed Her divine Spouse. The marriage covenant between Israel and God is done.

As for the replacement of Israel, you need to read Matthew 21: 33- 46, which quite clearly teaches that Israel will be tossed out of the Kingdom and replaced by "another nation," which is the Church. Mark 12: 1-12 also teaches this, so it is not an isolated text.

One wonders when this idea of a coming "Rapture of the Church" will ever be disavowed and tossed in the scrap heap of bad teachings?

I'm sorry but I have studied and rightly divided the word of truth. You are state that the new covenant has come and replaced the old and I am in total agreement with that. Jer 31 is prophecy saying that a new covenant would come not according to the one made with Moses and this covenant is for the forgiveness of sins. As Jesus said this is the cup of the new covenant made in his blood. There is no other offering for sin and we totally agree on that. But that is not the covenant God made with Abraham. That his descendants would have as a eternal possession the land of Canaan.

I made the case that the literal interpretation shows Jesus coming with his saints in Zech 14 and delivers Israel from their enemies beginning the promise that was affirmed by Zacharias who spoke by the Holy Spirit that Jesus would deliver them from their enemies and they would worship and serve him with out fear all the days of their live. I pointed out that Satan is bound 1000 years and the martyrs are included to rule and reign with Jesus during those 1000 year. The throne of David is taken at the 2nd coming. The mount of Olives has never split in two and the river that flows from Jerusalem has never flowed either. The LORD is king over all the earth and nations are required to attend the feast of tabernacles or they get no rain. You see all this is future.
Today the nation of Israel is in the cross hairs and the world in intent on dividing Jerusalem. The temple Institure has prepared everything for the resumption of the sacrifice. All things are set up for literal fulfillment of prophecies. There were no two witnesses in 70 AD and Rev warns not to ad or take away from the book. It seems the allegorical method and pretorist view does both. The law said a prophet had to be 100 % right on prophecy and Peter says no prophecy is of any private interpretation. So when you look at Zechariah did he not say the Messiah would come on the foal of an ass and that he would be betrayed for 30 pieces of silver and that money would go to the potters house? You see they did come to pass literally. There are hundreds more prophecy regarding the 2nd coming tribulation and millenium that all integrate and will come to pass literally.
