In answer to your question. The motivation for behind me wanting to know why others are posting on this forum is simple. To determine if their posts are worth anyone's attention. The reason why yourself and several others are on my ignore list was because I have determined that they are not worth my time. So why should anyone give an atheist activist like yourself any attention? Why should they waste their time with you?

You know what else they say; focus on the post, not the poster. By questioning why someone is here, you are focusing on the poster. Again, not uncommon when some get defensive because their positions dont hold up to scrutiny.

Lastly, ignore whoever you like, knock yourself out.

It sounds like you'd like to be able to "label" someone, so as to treat them prejudicially based on your preconceived notions. This is dismissive.

Wouldn't it be more productive to just respond to content in an honest manner?

These are exactly the questions I have as well. As a Christian I am sincerely willing to answer questions and concerns (to the best of my ability) that non-Christians may have. Such discussions and even debates are more than welcome here.

However, those who have no such questions, but who have instead made up their minds concerning Christianity, seem to be here for the sole purpose of refuting and attacking the Christian faith, and Christians themselves at every turn. These individuals are the ones who honestly concern me. It seems that several people here have made it a game to do such things. They seem genuinely frustrated and even angry that they are continually coming across the same Christians and the views of Christians on this forum.

It appears that their intent is to try to get Christians to wake up and see how foolish they are being to believe in God. As such I am concerned for Christians who may be new to their faith and/or are going through a difficult time in their faith. This should be a safe place for them, not a place for games.
Agreed. Which is why these atheist activist absolutely refuse to explain their true intentions for being on a Christian forum. They know that if they let their true intentions known, no Christian would waste their time on them.

If you want to be coddled, there are plenty of spaces on CF for just that.

Honest question (since it seems you have a preconceived notion as to "our" motives as well); Why is "faith" such a difficult thing to suss out for new Christians?

Again, what do someone's "true intentions" have to do with the price of tea in China? Either content is worthy of discussion, or it's not. Why all the emotion?

Ironic, because I remember somebody somewhere on this forum saying something about "making logical conclusions based on the evidence provided". I wonder how you would define a " troll"?

That sounds like good advice to me. I'm not sure what trolling has to do with good advice?

"Please do not feed the troll" redirects here.

In Internet slang, a troll (/ˈtroʊl/, /ˈtrɒl/) is a person who sows discord on the Internet by starting arguments or upsetting people, by posting inflammatory,[1] extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community (such as a newsgroup, forum, chat room, or blog) with the deliberate intent of provoking readers into an emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion, often for their own amusement.

Again, not making accusations, but if the shoe fits....

Oh, I'm not embarrassed, I can assure you.

And no, I will not be commenting further. I am done playing games.

Creationist: Evolution is false because there are no transitional fossils.

Evolutionist: Here are several hominid transitional fossils evidencing human evolution.

He wants to know how best to tailor his apologetics and proselytising to you.

I have had quite enough of non-Christians suggesting that Christians should stay in the "Christian-only" sections of this forum. In case you have forgotten, this entire site is a Christian forum. If you don't want to encounter Christians and their view points, why in the world are you here? There are many forums for Atheists on the Internet for atheist viewpoints to be shared. This forum (and it's general sections) are meant to be an outreach for non-Christians who have honest questions and concerns regarding the Christian faith.

I don't make the blanket statement that all theists should stay away from this forum. However, this particular forum is dedicated to Philosophy, but I've seen the theists treat it as a platform for either proselytizing or presenting badly fallacious arguments. Neither of which will convince any of the non-theists here that their positions are valid. If you're doing that, you're wasting everyone's time.

It's like going to a foreign country to do missionary work and refusing to learn the language. If you're not communicating effectively, you're not communicating at all.
