  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Is Torah applicable for today?

Matthew 19:26
But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

Mark 9:23
Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.

Mark 10:27
And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.

When did I ever say I was justified by the Law? I am justified through Christ's atoning blood... because of this, I am obedient to His Commands. And through His Grace, I am able.

You haven't changed, have you Crib... still mischaracterizing people on here that don't see as you do... does this make Jesus smile? Me thinks not...
Then its clearly evident you don't believe.

Jesus fulfilled the requirements for atonement from sin... He came to establish the Law.

Romans 3:31
Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.
Do you mean this verse to indicate we're obligated to the law?

So God cannot accomplish this in us if we surrender to Him? My God is that powerful... it's His Law after all.
Your god isn't powerful enough to fulfill the Law's requirements on our behalf.

Sadly, that's what you don't understand...He not only fulfilled the Law but He is able to empower His people to obey it.

Your games don't fly with me ECR. The scriptures that you post exposes that you run from context.

Why do you continue to mischaracterize those of us that love God enough to surrender in obedience to Him.. show me one quote from myself (or any other Sabbath keeper on here, if that helps) that claims they are justified by the Law... you, Crib and others play this game of mud slinging hoping that you can trip us up or make us look foolish to others... God sees the mud on your hands.
This shows no one obeys the law, and your a liar if you say you do.
Exodus chapter 20 verse 10
but the seventh day is a Sabbath to tho Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you nor your son or daughter, nor your manservant or maidservant, nor your animals, nor the alien within your gates.
Exodus chapter 35 verse 3 Do not light a fire in any of your dwellings on the Sabbath day.
So if you want to follow the Sabbath you can't have your stove on or refrigerator, because that would cause people to work, or do you just want to keep a little of the Sabbath, which brings me to my original post.
Why be under the law when you don't have to and can't obey it.
Galatians chapter 4
Hagar and Sarah
21 Tell me, you who want to be under the law, are you not aware of what the law says? 22 For it is written that Abraham had two sons, one by the slave woman and the other by the free woman. 23 His son by the slave woman was born according to the flesh, but his son by the free woman was born as the result of a divine promise.

24 These things are being taken figuratively: The women represent two covenants. One covenant is from Mount Sinai and bears children who are to be slaves: This is Hagar. 25 Now Hagar stands for Mount Sinai in Arabia and corresponds to the present city of Jerusalem, because she is in slavery with her children. 26 But the Jerusalem that is above is free, and she is our mother. 27 For it is written:

“Be glad, barren woman,
you who never bore a child;
shout for joy and cry aloud,
you who were never in labor;
because more are the children of the desolate woman
than of her who has a husband.”[e]

28 Now you, brothers and sisters, like Isaac, are children of promise. 29 At that time the son born according to the flesh persecuted the son born by the power of the Spirit. It is the same now. 30 But what does Scripture say? “Get rid of the slave woman and her son, for the slave woman’s son will never share in the inheritance with the free woman’s son.”[f] 31 Therefore, brothers and sisters, we are not children of the slave woman, but of the free woman.

Have you come up with that quote yet that I believe justification is through keeping the Law? You don't really care what I believe and are just pushing your anti obedience to God shtick...

No, if he had fulfilled it then we would NOT be accountable to it. If one is having to obey laws then NOTHING has changed regarding them. Changing punishment doesn't do anything as long as there is punishment then the Law is still unfulfilled.

I call it not hopping on the merry-go-round where unsubstantiated claims are made and stacked higher and higher till they reach the sky and the mountain of them are hid behind by those making them.

So what are the unrighteous judged by?
If you really didn't ignore Paul you would know the answer to this, as some of the unrighteous ARE judged by the Law but some are not judged by it according to if they were bound by the Law (part of Israel) to keep it. Paul say that the righteous have no need of the Law, which makes those who "need" the Law in that category of the unrighteous IMO as they thumb their nose at Jesus offer of righteousness by faith in him.

Hebrews chapter 7 verses 11,12 If perfection could have been attained through the Levitical priesthood for on the basis of it the law was given to the people why was there still need for another priest to come one in the order of Melchizedek, not in the order of Aaron? For when there is a change of the priesthood, there must also be a change of the law.
verse 18 and 19 The former regulation is set aside because it was weak and useless for the law made nothing perfect and a better hope is introduced, by which we draw near to God.

So what are the unrighteous judged by?
Maybe this will help if you read it and apply it.
Matthew chapter 4 verse 4
Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'"
Romans chapter 1 verse 28
Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done.

John chapter 8 verse 31,32
To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, " If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.
2 John
9 Anyone who runs ahead and does not continue in the teaching of Christ does not have God; whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son.
Job chapter 23 verse 12
I have not departed from the commands of his lips; I have treasured the words of his mouth more than my daily bread.
Matthew 11
28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Luke chapter 21
33 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
Romans chapter 10
17 Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.
