Any "age" is meaningful someway somehow. It all depends on the degree of understanding. That is why I say this is the art of geological science.

Show how this is the case using U/Pb to date trees.

I am guessing that you can't, because you are just making stuff up at this point.

Let me tell you something you should know: The job of a scientist is to make stuff up. If I can not, then I am not a scientist.

That is not the job of a scientist, not even close. Are heart transplants made up, are vaccines made up, are power plants made up?

They are engineers, not scientists.
Even for them, be able to make up new thing is very very good.

Baloney.

Scientists are not making up the fact that zircons exclude Pb when they form. Scientists are not making up the fact that U isotopes decay at a constant rate. Scientists are not making up the ratio of U and Pb isotopes in zircons. Scientists are not making up the fact that U/Pb dating can not be used for trees because they all start with different amounts of Pb.

You are making up the fantasy that U/Pb can be used for dating trees.

That is the difference between you and real scientists.

Well, not living trees, anyways. Dating only works on dead stuff. And it only tells us how long ago it died, not how long it lived.

U/Pb dating does not work on trees, living or dead. For live trees, you can simply bore out a sample and count the rings.

Everything you know was made up by someone at its very first time.

I'll be charitable and assume your poor grasp of English has led you to use an inappropriate phrase. To make something up, in the way you are using it, implies inventing a falsehood. If your intent is to convey the idea of proposing a hypothesis, it would be much better for you to write something like:

Everything you know was originally proposed by someone..

Yep....or, Everything you know was originally discovered by someone...?

No. Make up is the most appropriate term for it. Your version is most likely a lie.
Can you make any meaningful thing up? I guess not. It take something most people don't have much, the brain power.

I blow the wind (make up things),
You drift with it (respond to it).
It is one of the most satisfied feeling you could have.

I blow to the east, you swing toward the east. I blow to the west, you swing toward the west. I said to date the tree by isotopes, that crab guy said: you made it up. Ha ha ha ...

No. Any real smart things you can think of has probably been made up by someone long time ago. What's left for most people to play around are stupid things.

I am so eagerly to hear some smart make ups. Could you tell me one? Guess not. Do you think we can use U/Pb to date the sea water? Am I making it up on this one? Enjoy it.

I meant dating in general, carbon 14 dating is used on plant life that isn't too old. Yes, I know counting the rings works, you learn that sort of thing as a little kid.
